How To Blur Backgrounds In Photoshop - Shallow Depth of Field Effect Using Depth Maps
Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 гру 2019
- In today's Photoshop tutorial I'm going to show you a useful technique for adding a realistic shallow depth of field effect to your photos. We'll use a Depth Map to indicate which areas need to be blurred and by how much. This method gives you complete control over the effect, which makes it ideal for all kinds of photographs, no matter the perspective, or complexity of the background. By defining the sections of the image in grayscale tones, you can blur some areas more than others.

Very goooooood
Thank you
Thank you for this video. I have tried using this technique on a portrait photo where the subject is closer but the edges on the subject are too rough when applying blur. Could you please share how would you smoothen the selection edges for a smoother transition?
Cool tip..
Thanks, that was really nice trick. I hope it will be nice :) for watching.
Im on the german version and i don’t have the Lens blur, online it say that it’s supposed to be Tiefenschärfe abmildern, but I don’t have That option either, only the Gaussian blur etc
What about cartoon images? How does this look on them?
So you're telling me i actually don't need a £1500 1.4 lens to do this? 😂 nice one.
but would you do this for every photo?
Very cool video, but its easier for me to buy a lens
I won't be buying a camera until depth mapping is incorporated. We've had that on our phones for years and it works great now. Even our grandkids use it for portraits, pics of pets, etc.Time for camera makers to start putting their customers ahead of their lust for lens sales.
The 18--140 and other similar lenses are so convenient. Having depth mapping built in that could be accessed in Photoshop ...or better yet Lightroom with controls to adjust blur and bokeh ...is where we need to be headed.
