The Cavalry Archer name is different, the Rus one is Horse Archer. I do agree though, that Tamariots would have been both better for clarity with Cavalry and Horse being very similar, and it also sounds better imo
Wam used feigned tactics at least twice or more stupendously... first time was with the lone sipahi acting as bait allowing 4 heavier armored Lancers to sneak through and second time was with 4 Cavalry Archers drawing in half or more of the enemy force into an ambush of a larger unified clump of Cavalry Archers with Mehter support ... though at least one one Great Bombard shot into the thick of the blue force would have been better than an extra lob at a Stables, methinks
In the last battle, the cav archers fired, while they were pushed forward by the backline, effectively chasing and attacking at the same time, like a Mangudai I wonder if that's intended.
However, there were horse archers since the foundation of the Ottoman Empire, even before the timar sipahi system. Even in the Seljuk period before the Ottoman Empire, the main fighting unit of the Turks has always been the horse archer units. The horse archer sipahi, in fact the sipahi are always horse archers and they can turn around and shoot arrows on the move, if you don't believe it, check the historical sources. Not only Mongolian horse archers did not shoot arrows on the move, Ottoman sipahis also had this characteristic. But in the game, such elements have been removed.
Idk about that great bombard, could have been a bunch of free janissaries instead of a weaker great bombard against a knight civ with no units to defend it. It managed to shoot twice at a stable and then died. I wonder what the thought process was behind that.
Looked like limit testing to me. He forced a fight and won the game off of it. The great bombard was enough to force the issue. Sometimes you can sac the queen for a quick checkmate
only real issue I see with going so heavy in melee/range cav focus is its a bit of anti synergy with the great bombard. The great bombard is slow as molasses which means if you want to protect it, you need to commit to the fight instead of utilizing your superior speed to kite and get better positioning. You can see Wam had to sac the great bombard which got almost no value because its more important to keep his cav archer mass alive by kiting. Of course, if the cav archers are OP enough then it doesnt really matter.
there is no "standard" cav archer in aoe4. Rus CAs get extra range ability, mangudai gets to fire while moving, khan hunters get range boost aura, Japanese CA get bonus anti-heavy dmg, and now ottoman CAs fire 2 shots per volley
I would never think that the ottoman Turkish civ would have a main horse archer unit, usually when I think of horse archers its always either Turkic Asians or Mongols that utilize that to its most potential.
It’s most likely a Tartar Horse Archer (Like you said Turkic asians) in Aoe3 the Ottomans had Cav archers and there was a unique native horse archer unit that was specifically Tartar in origin. Considering Byzantine have Hui Hui it’s not too much of a stretch.
Hey there from Turkey. You are wrong in that one. Main chunk of the ottoman army was Tımarlı Sihapis (Timariot Cavalries) which is Medium lancers(Sipahi in the AoE4) and Light Horse Archers. Jannissaries were small elite household troops. Before release ver of AoE4, sipahi had mellee/ranged switch just like ayyubid deser raider but they changed it cuz it was so OP. But ıt was much more historycally accurate.
If you research a bit, you will see that Turkish armies consisted of some of the best light cavalry archers in the world up until 14-15th centuries since the days of the Huns. Turkic peoples are the continuation of the Huns and not only that, the vast majority of the Mongol armies consisted of Turks which is widely accepted by historians.
They’re both conq iii. You’re confusing matchmaking rating and elo. They are similar matchmaking rating. Prolly just had 5 bad placement matches in the new season launch. Lots of people still play I don’t have any trouble with waiting time.
Literally in the same sentence Drongo says they are both Conq 3 players and explains that one player just didn't have enough games for his rank to match his Elo.

Drongo, sworn ennemy of Kazakhstan
I think Wam went for pax ottomanica as he exploded on the vill count when second tc came online

If its unique from the Russian one it should have a unique name. The other option would be renamed Rus CA to Kipchaks
Borat was filmed in romania
This game is glitched RN. Failing to Notify about attacks at the moment.
being this way since the release =(

So what's the counter to cav archers
@@genesisSOChorsemen.
@@genesisSOC Horsemen, Archers, even Crossbowmen.
Cav Archers are very squishy and quite expensive.
They are not cost effective against cheaper units.
Two years later, Great Bombard still as useless as ever! Unless you got 6-7 of them which never happens in competitive
good siege should never be that strong
its a weaker version with the vizier point if you pop before imperial
I really missed the ottoman haters in the comments.
You used to be a whole army whenever there was an ottoman cast.
What happened?
Looks like the Turkish nationalist with 20 accounts is back to complain about Ottomans not being S tier OP
Ya boi is back! Hahaha boost mighty Ottoman plez randomname1402 we missed you
"One shot, one kill" is from the 1993 movie "Sniper" staring Tom Berenger 🙂
Archers in warcaft 3 also reference this
Widowmaker from Overwatch also reference this :)
Rus are called Horse Archers im pretty sure
did they nerf the springwald? seems to do a lot less damage to siege now.
Yes they reworked it to be an anti melee infantry unit
no anti-siege siege units anymore
