Honestly, they probably got over it fast, if you fight Octavio for the 2nd time in Splatoon 2, Callie says that the glasses looked cool so she put it on again, I bet she wasn't even 100% hypnotized when she said that too, and if you go back a 3rd time, Marie is just "okay, let's get this over with, I wanna do other stuff"
