    Does a bad actuator cause the heat/defroster to
    Work and not work ?

    I was getting 2 different knocks on mine ... behind the radio and behind the glove box. I had the bright idea to change them all out to make sure i dont have to get back under there again. there are 2 actuators behind the glove box, the one closest to the radio is the easiest. I'm about to change out the one under the driver side ... very informative . depending on where you get the part, its called a different name, kinda weird. thanks

    Just a heads up. I found it a lot easier not to press down on the plastic flap but press upwards on the plastic flap directly above the previously mentioned plastic flap. If that makes sense.

    On my second replacement of both servo motors. I'm getting good at it but I wonder why and what fucking genius came up with this stupid idea, When we used to do it with wires and cables that never failed.

      What pisses me off is that this has been happening for many years in the GM vehicles and they haven't improved the actuator. Tiny, baby plastic gear inside and its teeth brake off. That's why the banging noise.

  • @100PercentDuelLinks

    Is it ok if I leave the actuator unplugged to stop the clicking noise? Is it bad for the car? I don't exactly have the funds to get it fixed. Any helped would be appreciated.

    • @nickmi9230
      @nickmi9230  7 років тому +2

      Duel Links it will keep clicking for about a minute or two it is already broken so u can't brake it any further but it will get annoying

      Yo did this lead to any further problems? My ghetto mechanic just unplugged it as well and I’m kinda scared

    • @KingofallHacks
      @KingofallHacks 5 років тому +1

      The actuator just controls which vents your ac comes out of. It won’t damage your engine or anything.

    I was already pissed from having to replace the two on the passenger side. Then I go to use the driver heat and turns out I have to replace that too.. Absolute bullshit from GM. I've literally never had this issue on a Japanese car.

      I had a guy at O'Reilly's tell me I went wrong with buying an American car when I bought an actuator and I honestly couldn't agree more

    I have this same problem with my 2013 chevy impala the a/c blows cold but I get no hot air in anyway. if I unplugged the actuator in the glove box to stop the noise will I still get cold a/c or will that stop it from blowing as well??

    • @nickmi9230
      @nickmi9230  8 років тому +1

      KLAUS DELGADO sometimes but it's best to just replace it if you're having any problems because that is the reason that there's a difference between a temperature actuator and a modulator actuator

    You have a part numbet?. Mine is giving me ac when i want heat on my driver side. Thanks

    • @nickmi9230
      @nickmi9230  8 років тому

      P. K. it's different in all models as far as the part number but the actuator is the word that you need to ask for at the parts store and it looks exactly like the one I showed in my video part numbers are specific to car model and are also trademark so your best bet is to ask for an actuator or a thermostat actuator

    • @nickmi9230
      @nickmi9230  8 років тому

      P. K. for instance mine is 604 - 10 7 for the heater actuator but the heater door blend with actually helps it move from defrost to front blow 2 foot is a different part for my vehicle is 604-10 8 most parts you can Google the part number for the vehicle specifics

    • @nickmi9230
      @nickmi9230  8 років тому

      P. K. here's the website I searchm.autozone.com/cooling-heating-and-climate-control/a-c-heater-blend-door-actuator/chevrolet/impala

    • @nickmi9230
      @nickmi9230  8 років тому

      P. K. it sounds like to me that yours would be an actuator and not heater door blend

      Thanks i really appreciate all the help. Has not started to make any clicking noises. So its hard to determine. Only thing is when i want heat in the morning passenger side 2 vents are hot and my driver side 2 are a/c cold. I have a 2011 impala lt with the dual climate controls.

    if your doing this repair just remove the glovebox and you can access the part easily.
