Me and my buddy Chris were digging through 15k+ books in an old auction house...no bags/boards, sitting for at least 6 years...pulling straight gold out of piles of nothing...he holds up samurai Santa ..."What is this again??" 😮😮😮😮 After pulling tons of Dave Stevens and awesome runs...outta nowhere....BANG!!
Jim Lee is the BEST and i had the pleasure of telling him over a decade ago as he started his Batman run. As a fun reminder of that meeting my Batman 613 2nd prints signed by him came back a CGC 9.9. only one in the world. Of course being a old collector i knew all of these. I know Larsen has changed the story over the years, but when it came out he HATED Jim's version of Savage Dragon and that is why he redrew it. I would have liked to also see you guys cover the Best Jim story , yes even better than how he came up with the ICONIC Batman 608 2nd print , and of course i am referring to the HardC.O.R.P. 1 from Valiant.. i could comment a lot more on the video but it wasnt bad. With a career as long as his is , 45 min just isn't enough. Last thought before i go, be wary of saying people are over paying for a book. Many collectors have stated the same thing over decades over so many books, i dont think anyone thinks $200 for a Spider Man is overrated anymore. Yes "experts" were writing that in the over street price guide! 😂 I look forward to seeing more.
Thanks for the advice. And well said, when we say overpaid it’s in comparison with what the market is saying. It not personal in any way and understand what you mean. Remember high print count means there are plenty out there and one needs to be wise on how they go out for the hunt. In saying that, all artist and creative needs to get the most they can get. This industry has been notorious for underpaying talent their worth. Thank you for your comments and yes 45 min is short for a career that is almost 40 years now. Best.
This is a great live stream/video about a true legend. Lots of fantastic insights and information about the one and only Jim Lee. Thanks for sharing, Izzy! #IzzyVerseNYC
I bought 100 copies of WildCATS just to get that 1gold!? Still have 50 left! Love the beautiful embossed gold cover. I have 2 of those. Great gimmicky times. These days i am mostly collecting Platinum and Golden Age. Take a peek at our father and son channel.
nice list - If you want to see something crazy pick up flinch 11 it's got a great little Bruce Tim horror story that will take you're socks off
I’ve been looking at Flinch. Apparently, it has some great people in it.
So happy to be a part of this!!
Thanks for helping

I had my childhood Transformers 53 signed by Jim Lee in august.
That’s awesome. Congratulations
Are all his properties still owned by DC ?
