I did the same. I bought the Briggs just to test. If you wanna go bigger. I recommend the maxima 36". The price tag hurts but that machine turns your 2-3 hr jobs into 20-30 min jobs. I then use my jrod softwash fan tip to spray off. Tons of time saved.
Big Big thanks to you Mr Dan for the tips! Purchased a pressure nozzle to combine in jobs that have outside furniture. Monthly I wash the stores sidewalk across a small shopping center. 70% of the property has no obstructions. 30% has outdoor furniture. I've cut time utilizing the rotation device on the 70%, while moving the outdoor furniture (other 30%) a few inches to the side, washing, then moving it back to its original point and continuing the wash. That keeps me from having to spend down time moving all the furniture, washing, then replacing it back. Took a 3.25 hour job to a 2 hour job. Sorry for the long explanation but thank you for your many videos and tips.
Just found your channel and started watching. Wanted to thank you for your service sir. Love the way you take pride in your work and are willing to go the extra mile. Says a lot about a person.
Another great video, thanks. That B&S surface cleaner works great, but I think the best investment is an extended wand. My lower back was sore watching. They really need some sort of gutter around the tennis court to keep the surrounding dirt of the court surface. Again thanks for taking the time to include us and taping it
You said you were running a gx270. Sounds like it's bogging down pretty good 4.0 gpm are usually paired with gx390 13hp. I've found them all over used for 100$. Maybe consider upgrading
Hey Dan. I just came across your vlog today and I been binge watching them. Thanks for making them and all the great info. Ive been thinking about starting a pressure washing biz for a few years and now Im about to make it happen. Doing my research. I have a question. How come you dont use a "buffer" tank. A lot of videos say you need one in case the water pressure from the faucet line cant keep up with the force the washer is demanding and it can cause damage to the pump. also in case you cant find a water source.
Dan just watching people do things at times can give you a idea or nether way of doing things. I watch you and several other quite abet and see how I can do things to improve my ways of doing things, when I try my way and it don't work like I think it should I try some of the ways I see on here. So Thank you Sir.
Thanks for sharing. Learning a lot from your videos. Curious though, why doesn’t anyone share what they charge for jobs like this? Seems like you would help folks by sharing that information.
Surface cleaners are great mine has payed for its self many times over . I got a longer wand for mine so I don't have to bend over. Secret to a surface cleaner is rinse often ... *¿*
Dan, I recently purchased the Briggs and Stratton surface cleaner from Sears. I was hired to pressure wash a home and a deck and had my first opportunity to use the surface cleaner. After completing the job the homeowner was very pleased with my work. Long story short... The homeowner called me the next day after the deck was dry and let's just say he was not happy. He tells me The deck has dozens of swirls from the surface cleaner. I went back the next day and pressure washed the deck again but only using the yellow knozzle which is my go to. The deck was perfect after that. Have you ever experienced the swirls with using the surface cleaner? And what advice would you give me. Thanks.
you can only use the surface cleaner on brand new treated lumber decks or old treated lumber decks. Redwood and Cedar are way to soft and will always leave the swirls. One thing to remember though go nice and slow and never stop moving. I like to start it up in the area and while moving forward set it down and keep moving. Also start on one side of deck and move over 1 board at at time allowing each board to get passed over 3 times limited the swirl marks.
Always seem to pull some paint when pressure washing with a Surface cleaner when cleaning tennis courts. Would you recommend using a bleach water solution first for a bad Court?
+Howard Garney Probab;y would be but at some point, the collection tank would of overflowed. Not sure where to deposit the dirty water or what that would do to the cost of the job.
You need to invest in a 24" surface cleaner and have a separate water feed for someone to spray rinse behind you. I have one of those and you need to move slower to get the deep cleaning effect. I also went through two wands from the torgue fatigue. Faster, easier and only will cost you lunch for your helper. .
Dan, new to your videos and trying to catch up. the tennis court one is amazing and you don't spray any of your bleach on it?hard to believe that little unit and water does such an amazing job.
do you use any detergent or cleaning agent while doing sidewalks and the courts. I want to start this business up and wish to learn. do you have and information that might help?
hello Dan I really enjoy your vlogs quick question is there a difference between bleaches I got some bleach from a dollar store to wash a house I had to use both gallons I didn't think I would had to use that much for a house
+Arthur Moore The difference is in the amount of Sodium Hypochlorite %. You may have had 6% which is weak. However, using 2 gallons for an entire house is not a high amount considering I use usually around 3 gallons and that's using concentrated bleach at 8.25%
pressure washers direct has a b/s 9' extension lance kit for $80, might help your back. I have a "brother" who was med. retired because of all the soft landings in the sandbox.
Hey Dan long time watcher but first post. I want to let you know mainly due to your videos I have started my own side business in house washing and it's doing well. Do you have a patreon account or another way I can send you some money for all your information and time? Secondly one recommendation I was thinking of making to you would be to maybe look in to a bit larger but still economical surface cleaner. I bought a rigid 18'' from home depot for 150 dollars it seems more effective than what you are currently using yet still economical. Thanks again Gerry
@@DansVlog odd problem dan I tried to send you money but it won't let me find you with zelle using just your account number. If you send me your email/phone number I'll shoot some money your way if your comfortable doing that. If not shoot me your full name and an address and I'll send it the old school way. Thanks again Gerry.
+Cody Greenwell Well, I won't talk money on these big jobs but I will say this. You see my equipment and you see how much time it took me. With that, you should be able to give a fair bid. Also, look at local companies websites to your area. Many of them will give a square foot price for surface cleaning. See what it the market value is for your area.
I didn’t watch the entire video but most of it so excuse me if this question was covered but how do you pw painted concrete without removing the paint?

+Dennis Cole I have not used an XJET or ball valve system. If the wood is painted, I treat it with my bleach / soap mixture just like doing a house wash. If the wood is just plain treated wood, ya got to be real carefull not to make discoloring marks with bleach. I would just use pressure and charge them accordingly. The surface cleaner will work great tho and save you a lot of time.

Hey let me ask I am in the state of washington. I have a specialty Landscape license for mowing and stuff. I am insured and bonded. might be a little late here but I notice that you're using water from a direct source to feed your pressure washer instead of having your own personal water tank to feed from....you don't want an outlet that comes from your water tank would give you a better output of water leading into your pump
You should also know that I have a 4 gallon per minute pump and just about any Spicket in America is going to provide plenty of water. Good job bro. A Husqvarna 580BTS should move all that dirty slop water off the court in short time.
Thanks. I’ve learned a lot from your channel. Pls keep the teaching us. Thanks
it would probably be beneficial to have your hp line split, and have someone else with a low pressure wand directing the dirty water away.

You can get an extension or a longer Lance.
Always seem to pull some paint when pressure washing with a Surface cleaner when cleaning tennis courts. Would you recommend using a bleach water solution first for a bad Court?
I would not put bleach on the court. Just move along quickly but some coloring will be lifted no matter what. The paint is oxidixing.
Hi Dan, I was wondering about how much gallons of water did it take to clean the tennis court?
100 million
Is a pressure washer water recovery and recycling system a good idea to use on jobs like this?
