If Skyward Sword has taught me anything, when you see a girl that shares many design similarities to a sword, she is probably a sword. That red-headed girl looks a lot like that Monado-esque weapon. Definitely a connection.

Super Bo its cherish that gamers over 30 who have family kids jobs etc actually really waits on this kind of deep existensial games. I mean i read Nietzsche in my college but damn his thoughts are so powerful and full of meaning that actually video games (as next art) wil great correspond with philosophy. I hope in next years (and maybe generation of next consoles) nintendo will bring more and more this kind of games cause ... damn ... this is it all about. Nintendo in my opinion must defeat Sony with his playstation to bring to life jRPG, action games that we gamers know it from NES and SNES. World of video games needs better and stronger Nintendo. Leaf Nah FE will still be running strong, simply because of it being a strategy RPG Xenoblade, though, feels like a proper counterpart to FF, both being a fantasy action RPG series 'n all that jazz.
Remember when Square didn't let Takahashi create Xenogears 2, which is why he made Monolithsoft in the first place? Nintendo does what Square Enix don't.
Even 7 years later this trailer was so exciting. The gorgeous scenery, the amazing amazing music, the really cool lines in japanese, all building up to the reveal that the story or rather spirit of Xenoblade Chronicles was going to continue on in the form of a sequel. Still probably my favorite reveal trailer out of any of the Xenoblade games.

Deus Knight The Wii U didn't sell well but the games on it did get considerable attention proportionate to those sales. Mario Kart 8 for example is still one of the best selling exclusives of the gen, second only to Uncharted 4. And the Breath of the Wild trailer for Wii U has over 11 million views. XCX had big trailers in early 2013, E3 2013, and E3 2014. To beat all those trailers - which have had years to accumulate views, in one month is impressive. Especially when you consider this is a smaller trailer compared to the three just listed.
The franchise is gradually rising in popularity. Very soon it's popularity will match the franchise quality and when that happens I cannot see any other Japonese company being able to compete. Long live for Monolith!!!

Jokes aside il buy the switch alone for this game. Xenoblade on the Wii was hands down one of the greatest story driven games i ever played and knowing theres a sequel to that masterpiece sends shivers through my body. "Swing the blade to your hearts content"
It is way up on the list and much better than most Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Phantasy Star games, but there are so many great JRPGs that it is really hard even to break the top 10 list nowadays. I would say Xenoblade might be in the top 10 though. It certainly is the best one of the last ten years.

Giant open world with nothing in it, long grinding, repetitive quests and a story that was amazing up until *spoilers* Dickson betrays you and the mystery of the world is ruined when they explain how the world was created in such a stupid way *end of spoilers* I really do hate the ending.
3 years later and the reveal trailer here still gets me all teary-eyed and happy.😭 This game is such a masterpiece; I'm looking forward to having it and Xenoblade 1 on the same console!💗
BigRobit X is too new. Splatoon is the closest he has ever gotten to playing a game when it was new and it took him around a year to compile research on the weapons before he even started.
All of Splatoon's content wasn't available from the very start. After one year, all of the extra stuff was out, and chugga did his playthrough a few months after that.
Of of the best RPGs ive ever played...slow start but grew to real love in my heart. The music the characters, the story, the fighting, the journey. Was sad when it ended.
I said to myself when the Switch was first announced: "The only game series I like so much that I would get a new game console just for them are Super Mario Galaxy and Xenoblade." I have no intention of taking that back.
What I was intending to imply was that *SPOILERS* Either this is the world that Shulk created at the end of Xenoblade Chronicles, or if you remember the conversation Egil and Arglas had about a world beyond the Bionis and Mechonis, it may be that. Come on, from what we see, this is the closest thing to a direct sequel to Xenoblade Chronicles that we're gonna get, so I gotta brainstorm some ideas!
That's an interesting idea about the 'world beyond'. Though I doubt it since since the setting is so much like the world on Bionis & Mechonis. If this was a different world than the setting would be vastly different. I think the game will be somewhere in the future. 50-1000 years. Either Shulk is alive and old or this is generations later.

Either way, the world Shulk creates doesn't visually look too different from the Colony 9 on Bionis. SO geographically, it still looks similar, just like in this trailer! If characters from Xenoblade Chronicles are appearing, I want to say it happens 5-10 years later. If not, then yeah, I like your idea of hundreds of years later! SO MUCH POTENTIAL!
Going back to rewatch the initial trailers, and I notice something extending past the World Tree, and even seems to extend into it slightly. GOD DAMMIT MONOLITH, IT WAS RIGHT THERE IN THE FIRST TRAILER! HOW DID WE NOT NOTICE YOUR FREAKING SPACE ELEVATOR?!
It’s always so crazy looking back on things. I was still in school when this came out. Listening to this trailer, it feels different than my memories of the game. I more remember the feeling of not knowing and speculating what this all would mean. I was even younger for XCX, crazy. Also side point. I know Japanese now so that’s also retexturing my nostalgia
Same. Unfortunately I fell in with the crowd of people at the time that dismissed this game because of the more anime-like aesthetic. I was a big fan of 1 and seeing this trailer when it came out felt weird. I’ve come around since then though, 2 is absolutely amazing.
I picked this game up back when I was starting high school and my god by the time I had finished the story, my mind was blown. This game changed my perspective on gaming as a whole and has made me play a large plethora of games. When Xenoblade 3 got announced I was very excited but was also kind of sad too. I’d burried this game under hundred of other games trying to find a game like it and out of the whole journey of playing games I had only discovered two games that had given me great experiences. In the end I discovered that playing all these other experiences was me searching for another Xenoblade. And with that realization my desire to play more games shrunk to wanting to only play what I knew I could play in a timely manner (turns out not many). I am still in high school now, but I’m currently moving into the final years left. This game is hella important to me and the grander series has shown me that no matter how many experiences bury Xenoblade 2 my love for it is very much going be present for a very a very long time.
Xenogears is worth it just for the story alone. It's one of my favorite stories in fiction period. I played Xenogears when I started highschool and it was an extremely mind-blowing experience considering that this was back in 1998.

If you wanna live you sometimes have to sell your soul to the devil. It saved FE. Nintendo seems to appreciate the raw talent of Monolith soft, but i somehow doubt they are gonna keep this up if the franchise doesn't pick up.
That line actually wasn't very well translated. A better translation would have been "I love this world because YOU ALL are in it." She very distinctly uses the word "mina", which means "everyone". A literal translation would be "I love this world because everyone is in it." So far, we should be okay. She may yet turn out to be "that" sort of character, but we have nothing to base that on yet.
One of the main reasons why I wasn't sold into XCX - music there was huge step down, compared to Xenoblade Chronicles. I said to myself the same, when I saw the names. I'm sold.
S. Sz. I love XC's music, but XCX's is honestly better (except NLA). The overworld themes are infinitely better. Satorl Marsh is great, but it's got nothing on Sylvalum Night. Also the boss themes, like Luxaar's. Codename Z, Theme X, and so many more... The only theme I regularly listen to from XC is the Main Theme, which is one of my favorite video game songs
Alex Le Satorl Marsh is super peaceful, but it's kinda boring at parts. Sylvalum is peaceful at first but then becomes so.... powerful(? can't think of a good word). It's amazingly atmospheric. But then again, so is satorl marsh.... IDK how to describe my thoughts
That music towards the end got me in the feels. *That* is what was missing in Xenoblade X. A superb soundtrack with some emotions in it. EDIT: They even got composers from the original soundtrack back! Just give me a good plot, likeable/developed characters, a playable Nopon, and I'll be good.
So, I've never played any game in this series but I had recently finished Odyssey to 100% so I figured I'd chance it and pick this up since it was another Switch exclusive. By the end of Chapter One, I ended up going back to the shop so I could return it. It's not that it was bad, I just needed to get the Special Edition before they ran out because holy crap was I not expecting it to suck me in so fast. It looks a bit odd in handheld mode and sometimes the English VO doesn't match the emotion the character is showing but that aside, my gosh is it so good.
The game isn’t without its flaws and the original is a little better but this game is still beautiful. And seriously that ending message is so important that everyone needs to know about it.
The memories of Switch launching with this masterpiece is something I'll never forget and now we are nearing end lifecycle of the wonderful all-time great system. Monolith Soft have become my fav game developers and cannot wait to see what's in store going forward :-)

Fire Emblem has always been anime. So was Shin Megami Tensei. What happened was they decided on an extremely Japanese theme to base the crossover on, and apparently it was a great game in the end anyway even if that theme did alienate a bunch of people due to being so foreign.
I’m hear after finishing the game a few days ago, and I still can’t stop playing. I knew since I heard the music in this trailer this game would be incredible. But somehow the game surpassed my expectations. I laughed, I cried, and I had tons of fun. I can’t wait for the next one.

Damn. This is a best game bruh. Don't listen to theses dislike and hater. This game is a must buy if you own a switch. It's probably the best rpg game on the switch. It took me 137 hours to finish MY FIRST playthrought. And now there is the prequel dlc. This is 100% worth the money and the time.
They shouldn't even bother with Treehouse or NA localization of any kind. Just do what they did with the first game and have a Japanese and Europe version only and it will be perfect.
The Switch is Region Free. My best bet is for people who want JP voice acting and english subtitles is to get the Asia version and import that. The asia version is usually made for Singapore and Hong Kong etc.
I'm super excited for Xenoblade 2! Character art looks great and the environments are insanely beautiful. Knowing Monolithsoft, the scope of this game will be huge.

Rafael Bernal Was the music that bad? I freakin loved the Ost for XCX. It was weird at first but it then it grew on me a few hours in. Now compared to the XC Ost of course thats debatable. Love them both in there own ways.
I like it I also think Nintendo should keep this approach Any games set in the original Xenoblade Chronicles should have an established main character And any games set in Xenoblade Chronicles X's Mira should let you create your own character Boom. You're covering both bases and playing to each world's strengths (Heavy story and narrative for Bionis-Mechonis setting, and total freedom in gameplay/character creation and a lot of exploration for Mira)
The character here looks really bland making me believe you create your own character which is disappointing to me since it usually takes away from the story

But in design he wasn't anything special aside from the Monado. If we are talking about about just in story, I don't see how one can judge the character in Xenoblade 2 since we only got like 3 seconds of him talking.
All we need is some new mechanic similar to Visions but even gradually better Medium to fast Chain attacks Classic Gameplay British voice actors Playable Nopon and or New Species Brand New Fresh Music Lots of areas and a great story or even better storyline than XC1 and it'll deliver.
Nah visions were cool (the way they implemented them was kinda intrusive though). Know what's boring in games? Easy enemies that all work the same. Visions gave a way to have stronger enemies be fatal and include ways to go against those fatal attacks. It made enemies feel more dangerous. Didn't like the music tho and I could live without them, I just want a somewhat slower, methodical combat back.
Quexlaw That's kinda what I said. The concept is awesome, but when going against a lot of enemies they're super annoying (one after another, after another..). I hope they develop a new, unique mechanic
Thanks to these kind of games, the Switch became the console that we know today, in conparison with many other consoles, this is one of the greatest early console titles of all times.

Never played the first Xenoblade. Never cared to. Only bought a wii for wii sports. I was young, foolish, the most casual of casual. My range was COD and Halo. So i have no bias towards the original, and all i have to say is, why do people not like the art style? It looks pretty beautiful to me. Is it more realistic than the original? Is it more cartoony? I need answers.

I think this is going to be the Windwaker of the Xenoblade series: people complain how cartoony it looks, but when they will play it they will love it. It was always more about the story than the graphics after all

megakoni1 Shiny I can see but Chibi? Chibi is a type of super-deformed character design which this is not. This is fairly normal in terms of actual bodily proportions. Dragon Quest VII 3DS is more of what Chibi is. Or an even better example would be seen in World of Final Fantasy.
I ve played XC on Wii, I ve played XC on New 3ds, I ve played X on Wii U, I ve played XC2 on Switch, I ve played XCDE on Switch, I ve played XC3 on Switch...several times, and it will always be 2 for me. 2 is the best XC for me.

Just because the art style was changed doesn't necessarily mean it's a downgrade. The game still looks beautiful.

As long as changing equipment still changes the character's appearance, the base outfit really isn't that big of a deal to me.

It is way up on the list and much better than most Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Phantasy Star games, but there are so many great JRPGs that it is really hard even to break the top 10 list nowadays. I would say Xenoblade might be in the top 10 though. It certainly is the best one of the last ten years.

Giant open world with nothing in it, long grinding, repetitive quests and a story that was amazing up until *spoilers* Dickson betrays you and the mystery of the world is ruined when they explain how the world was created in such a stupid way *end of spoilers* I really do hate the ending.
HAHA! Oh you've got to be joking right? Kingdom Hearts is the best JRPG ever. Some much better combat system and story (I could go on) then Xenoblade.

BigRobit X is too new. Splatoon is the closest he has ever gotten to playing a game when it was new and it took him around a year to compile research on the weapons before he even started.
All of Splatoon's content wasn't available from the very start. After one year, all of the extra stuff was out, and chugga did his playthrough a few months after that.
Of of the best RPGs ive ever played...slow start but grew to real love in my heart. The music the characters, the story, the fighting, the journey. Was sad when it ended.
I loved this RPG too. When I saw the trailer for the first time all those years ago, I was like yea, I NEED that.
I said to myself when the Switch was first announced: "The only game series I like so much that I would get a new game console just for them are Super Mario Galaxy and Xenoblade."

What I was intending to imply was that *SPOILERS*
Either this is the world that Shulk created at the end of Xenoblade Chronicles, or if you remember the conversation Egil and Arglas had about a world beyond the Bionis and Mechonis, it may be that. Come on, from what we see, this is the closest thing to a direct sequel to Xenoblade Chronicles that we're gonna get, so I gotta brainstorm some ideas!
That's an interesting idea about the 'world beyond'. Though I doubt it since since the setting is so much like the world on Bionis & Mechonis. If this was a different world than the setting would be vastly different. I think the game will be somewhere in the future. 50-1000 years. Either Shulk is alive and old or this is generations later.

Either way, the world Shulk creates doesn't visually look too different from the Colony 9 on Bionis. SO geographically, it still looks similar, just like in this trailer! If characters from Xenoblade Chronicles are appearing, I want to say it happens 5-10 years later. If not, then yeah, I like your idea of hundreds of years later! SO MUCH POTENTIAL!

It’s always so crazy looking back on things. I was still in school when this came out. Listening to this trailer, it feels different than my memories of the game. I more remember the feeling of not knowing and speculating what this all would mean. I was even younger for XCX, crazy.
Also side point. I know Japanese now so that’s also retexturing my nostalgia
Same. Unfortunately I fell in with the crowd of people at the time that dismissed this game because of the more anime-like aesthetic. I was a big fan of 1 and seeing this trailer when it came out felt weird. I’ve come around since then though, 2 is absolutely amazing.

I picked this game up back when I was starting high school and my god by the time I had finished the story, my mind was blown. This game changed my perspective on gaming as a whole and has made me play a large plethora of games. When Xenoblade 3 got announced I was very excited but was also kind of sad too.
I’d burried this game under hundred of other games trying to find a game like it and out of the whole journey of playing games I had only discovered two games that had given me great experiences. In the end I discovered that playing all these other experiences was me searching for another Xenoblade. And with that realization my desire to play more games shrunk to wanting to only play what I knew I could play in a timely manner (turns out not many). I am still in high school now, but I’m currently moving into the final years left. This game is hella important to me and the grander series has shown me that no matter how many experiences bury Xenoblade 2 my love for it is very much going be present for a very a very long time.

Xenogears is worth it just for the story alone. It's one of my favorite stories in fiction period. I played Xenogears when I started highschool and it was an extremely mind-blowing experience considering that this was back in 1998.

That is likely what they are referencing. The Yggdrasil was the ship used in Xenogears (Takahashi's first game back at Squaresoft).

That line actually wasn't very well translated. A better translation would have been "I love this world because YOU ALL are in it."
She very distinctly uses the word "mina", which means "everyone". A literal translation would be "I love this world because everyone is in it."
So far, we should be okay. She may yet turn out to be "that" sort of character, but we have nothing to base that on yet.

One of the main reasons why I wasn't sold into XCX - music there was huge step down, compared to Xenoblade Chronicles. I said to myself the same, when I saw the names. I'm sold.
S. Sz. I love XC's music, but XCX's is honestly better (except NLA). The overworld themes are infinitely better. Satorl Marsh is great, but it's got nothing on Sylvalum Night. Also the boss themes, like Luxaar's. Codename Z, Theme X, and so many more... The only theme I regularly listen to from XC is the Main Theme, which is one of my favorite video game songs

Alex Le Satorl Marsh is super peaceful, but it's kinda boring at parts. Sylvalum is peaceful at first but then becomes so.... powerful(? can't think of a good word). It's amazingly atmospheric. But then again, so is satorl marsh.... IDK how to describe my thoughts
That music towards the end got me in the feels. *That* is what was missing in Xenoblade X. A superb soundtrack with some emotions in it.

Just give me a good plot, likeable/developed characters, a playable Nopon, and I'll be good.

So, I've never played any game in this series but I had recently finished Odyssey to 100% so I figured I'd chance it and pick this up since it was another Switch exclusive.
By the end of Chapter One, I ended up going back to the shop so I could return it. It's not that it was bad, I just needed to get the Special Edition before they ran out because holy crap was I not expecting it to suck me in so fast.
It looks a bit odd in handheld mode and sometimes the English VO doesn't match the emotion the character is showing but that aside, my gosh is it so good.

The memories of Switch launching with this masterpiece is something I'll never forget and now we are nearing end lifecycle of the wonderful all-time great system. Monolith Soft have become my fav game developers and cannot wait to see what's in store going forward :-)

To be honest, I can live with it if it doesn't take the fire emblem route and actually implement shipping (God knows how that shaped FE)
Fire Emblem has always been anime. So was Shin Megami Tensei. What happened was they decided on an extremely Japanese theme to base the crossover on, and apparently it was a great game in the end anyway even if that theme did alienate a bunch of people due to being so foreign.
Gefl Gabe FE was always like that and SMT is about demons and murdering said demons.
I’m hear after finishing the game a few days ago, and I still can’t stop playing. I knew since I heard the music in this trailer this game would be incredible. But somehow the game surpassed my expectations. I laughed, I cried, and I had tons of fun. I can’t wait for the next one.

Damn. This is a best game bruh. Don't listen to theses dislike and hater. This game is a must buy if you own a switch. It's probably the best rpg game on the switch. It took me 137 hours to finish MY FIRST playthrought. And now there is the prequel dlc. This is 100% worth the money and the time.

They shouldn't even bother with Treehouse or NA localization of any kind. Just do what they did with the first game and have a Japanese and Europe version only and it will be perfect.
The Switch is Region Free. My best bet is for people who want JP voice acting and english subtitles is to get the Asia version and import that. The asia version is usually made for Singapore and Hong Kong etc.

Pikagal 31 Anthony Diecidue stated that this new character looks pretty bland. Design wise, Shulk was pretty bland. Sure he was cool story wise. But in design he wasn't anything special aside from the Monado. If we are talking about about just in story, I don't see how one can judge the character in Xenoblade 2 since we only got like 3 seconds of him talking.

The visions were a cool concept, but I hate them in gameplay. I would actually be so disappointed if they were in this game
Nah visions were cool (the way they implemented them was kinda intrusive though). Know what's boring in games? Easy enemies that all work the same. Visions gave a way to have stronger enemies be fatal and include ways to go against those fatal attacks. It made enemies feel more dangerous. Didn't like the music tho and I could live without them, I just want a somewhat slower, methodical combat back.
Quexlaw That's kinda what I said. The concept is awesome, but when going against a lot of enemies they're super annoying (one after another, after another..). I hope they develop a new, unique mechanic

Never played the first Xenoblade. Never cared to. Only bought a wii for wii sports. I was young, foolish, the most casual of casual. My range was COD and Halo. So i have no bias towards the original, and all i have to say is, why do people not like the art style? It looks pretty beautiful to me. Is it more realistic than the original? Is it more cartoony? I need answers.

megakoni1 Shiny I can see but Chibi? Chibi is a type of super-deformed character design which this is not. This is fairly normal in terms of actual bodily proportions. Dragon Quest VII 3DS is more of what Chibi is. Or an even better example would be seen in World of Final Fantasy.
