I think part of it is also that it's arguably harder to groom someone who has a better role model. Alastor wants Charlie under his thumb, but he can't have that if she relies more on Lucifer, because then what would she need him for?

It’s not weird that Alastor is fighting over the father figure role. He is clearly doing it specifically to get under Lucifer’s skin. He literally grins really big and turns around (ignoring Charlie in front of him) to stare straight at Lucifer while dragging out the word Daaaad. It’s so fucking obvious. The amount of people who think Alastor honestly sees Charlie as his surrogate daughter despite him showing no signs of feeling or acting this way before or after this song is insane.

Yea totally that’s what I think. Alastor very clearly is not doing this cus he actually cares about Charlie or the hotel, he’s doing it to mess with Lucifer. There’s definitely a major ulterior motive for everything Alastor is doing and I can’t wait to see what it is.

Okay so to answer the question about ducks..
The creator of the show said they wanted to fill Lucifer's workshop with a bunch of different crap. Being an angel, he dabbles in creation.
And then her friend said, kind of jokingly, "what if it was all rubber ducks"
She was suddenly reminded of a veggietales episode where they did a kid-friendly retelling of a really fucked up bible story, with rubber ducks.
And that's why.
The randomness of it works with the character's goofiness so they likely just decided to run with it. XD

a theory about Lucifer’s duck obsession is that Charlie loved the duck he made when she was little so he kinda hyperfixated on one of the only moments they had together. Since his depression made it hard for him to reach out to her, he clung to the ducks instead.

Someone had pointed out that The last time Lucifer saw Charlie smile was when he showed her a duck with 6 wings. He has since then, only ever tried to make more ducks, and has never felt like they were good enough to show her. This sort of also helps demonstrate his "creativity" has been severely damaged from being told his ideas were outlandish by heaven.

Funny thing about Vaggie, you didn't miss it because of her skin color because Lute's face wasn't shown until this episode! What you DID miss was her reluctance to go to Heaven, her questioning the Exorcists thought process, her military attitude when put in a position of authority, her spear which is the same as the ones other angels used, and the X over her eye like all the Exorcist masks.

Personally, the duck obsession I think is just the product of his depression and having nothing to do. He doesn't seem socially awkward, just look at how he acts with complete strangers like Angel dust, Husk, mimzy, etc, hell even Alastor. He only acted awkward with Charlie because he just hasn't been socially connected with her, and Vaggie because she got introduced as Charlie's girlfriend which is kind of a shocking thing to come out of your own daughter's mouth. He only forgot things because of his depression, well it has more to do with him just not caring which is a common symptom. Being always busy with ideas to the point of being called mischievous is just the product of his outgoing character. Nothing to do with ADHD, and especially Autism.

@@sarafontanini7051 I think Sera wants to be a good person, but I also don't think she has any decent idea of what makes someone good. Her whole thing seems to be being morally conflicted, knowing deep down the traditions they've been accepting as gospel for centuries are being proven wrong in front of her but wanting things to stay the same because it's what's worked and kept her and the people she cares about in complete and total comfort for all of her existence. She seems to genuinely love Emily, but clearly she's overly attached to the current order and the status quo, and her line about not being able to bear see Emily fall like Lucifer, to me, sounds like it's foreshadowing there will be pressure to exile Emily for trying to change things by some traditionalist faction in heaven probably lead/represented by Lute, and Sera is going to be a coward when that time comes and not stand up for her, even though she know it's wrong, and it's going to tear her apart and she indeed won't be able to bear it as Emily winds up in Hell being rightfully pissed with her for her betrayal.

She's scared that siding with all of this is going to cause her or Emily to fall. I am, however, iste red to see of Adam is gonna come back haha

Two things that I really like visually in episode 6 with Sera. 1, when she's singing the line "to do what was required" and it's got the closeup of her slightly crooked smile and the flame reflecting in her eyes just show how out of touch she really is with everything outside of Heaven. And 2, after the courtroom clears and it's just Emily and Sera taking, Sera's wings and hair randomly sprout eyes everywhere when she talks about hell uprising.

@@leftisthindranceHonestly, even if you are detail-oriented, I think it's fair to have completely missed Razzle and Dazzle because they only really show up in the pilot during the musical number and very rarely afterwards in the show proper, so it'd make sense for some people to assume they work at the news station and then be surprised they're at the hotel.
