That was loud, jarring and provoked my delicate sensitivities. Can you do it again?
I remember doing this piece my junior year in college...ah good times
One of my favorite percussion piece.
i have no idea how i just learned of this piece. absolutely incredible, and I can clearly see how this went on to inspire so many other ensemble percussion compositions. anyone seeing this as 'random noise,' is severely misguided. the fact that everyone is playing such a complex piece in time with eachother is impressive as all hell
strangely, i hear a lot of Laurello's Spine in this piece!! maybe because I preciously played that ensemble? who knows
Can someone please explain why this piece is “good” and not just random noise
Love this piece! Really a great composition.
Fun stuff.
First I love VIC FIRTH
Of course nobody can reply the Boulez performance of this piece but that was very good as well
¡Excelente!
Speaking of Vic Firth, Ralph Hardimon arranged this piece for the SCV drumline in his first ‘official’ year writing for them-1976. As I remember it, we even had a siren and everything :-) We practiced it, but it never got put into the show, sadly...would’ve been cool.
Do you by any chance still have the music for it?
reminds me of someone in the army or military
awesome
Simply having a lot of people banging on random intruments in a single room adds no inherent value to it.
Nothing about this piece is random
