It's so satisfying to see all 12 girls together, even if favOriTe isn't my favorite song ever. For people who were hoping i'd talk about the line distribution, I might not be the best person to go to for that? When listening to songs for the first few times I only tend to concentrate on the actual musical content and not "whose singing what." I'll try to touch on it in a future ot12 reaction video though ^^

charlotte seemed to zone in on Chuu straight away, which is a great choice. Would love to see her react to Chuu's solo, it was a fairly interesting song, if only for Chuu's amazing vocals and range (from the super deep notes at the start of the song, to the whistle notes at the end) and also it's pretty gay

It feels like a homage to early 2000's r&b/jazz. aurally, it's realty similar to Freakum Dress by Beyonce!!! It's that confident and sexy vibe that dominated the early 2000's, I've never heard a kpop group make a song like this.
I think that's why I liked it so much. I miss hearing those big sounds (old YG used to give us stuff like that too)

Thank you for being honest as always Umu. I really enjoy the song but it caught me offguard the first time I heard it. I can't wait for your reaction to their debut album and the rest of the cast to start reacting to the solos.
This song was more of a performance piece and a way to show all the members finally together. Their debut is (hopefully) going to be amazing
I think they capitalized the O and T because the fandom name is Orbit, but that would be really cool too

Not all the song has to blow the mind. I think it was smart business move to release favOriTe ("OT"12) in that way . favOriTe is a solid song, just keep in mind this is a pre-release song. All it's about marketing and the strategy of releasing specific song based on the process of the group. You know it's not like "Oh I just make these super BOPs let's release them right away! A song can be in Loona's dungeon for a year waiting to be relased for an specific purpose. I think favOrite did its job pretty well as a pre-release , as an appetizer of the upcoming EP (yes, only 6 songs, favOrite included).

GILFTS people ate saying about 2 songs with 6 members on each, the next sub units. But still rumours.
Beatriz Zacharias the tracks are out, and I'm not excited for the song that may be the main track, all people involved in the song #2 make cute upbeat pop songs. After all that strong vibe of FavOriTe, will they come out with something like that? I guess the song targets knetz and their love for cuteness.
I think I feel hesitant too for the same reason but let's see where they go with it first. If it does end up being a "cute" song, we can't complain since 1/3 gave us plenty of that. There are so many musical and visual elements of Loona to appreciate, it'll probably be difficult to blend them all into something all the fans will enjoy. But I think we'll find something we love about the release even if it's not particularly the song itself.
It was definitely Beyoncé Bday era meets the more contemporary R&B today (maybe some SZA, HER, Dawn Richard even?). It's not a LOONA track without some quirky effects and layering of chords. I didn't notice the placement of the melody with the harmonies, it definitely opens it up in an interesting way.
Grrr I closed the window after my essay by accident so I have to write all of this again hmpf.
I think this song is a mixture of many genres. Very jazzy with a little bit Latin and RnB and less pop. EDM? I don't hear it. The progression is in my opinion very good especially at the end - the dance break and then the change to the first blue sand scene. It's also very energetic like they want to say "Hey, here we are! Now let's get crazy" and the way they mixed the genres is very nice (the small RnB bridge from 2:17 in the original video, 3:11 here in your video; I love it). I don't like the part "you are my favorite". Why? It sounds like they had no idea what they should do with these english lyrics. It's for me the weakest part of the song.
btw THANK YOU UMU that you introduced me in Loona last year. Do you remember when I wrote that Sonatine would not be a song I would buy? Shortly after you've reacted to Eclipse or Sweet Crazy Love. That changed everything. Lonna 1/3 is not my favorite even though they have some good songs (Love & Live, Valentine Girl) and some solos/duets are good (Vivid, My Melody, Kiss Later, Everytime I Need You, The Carol 1.0). I prefer the latest solo releases (new & Egoist) and they are still better than favorite.

my fave part is the second chorus, that siren-ish/whistle-ish sound that they add drives me crazy its sooo satisfying idk why, i just love is so much (i love to whole song very much tho)

I liked this fine on its own, but then I saw the fan cam from their concert and it made me LOVE it. It’s such a good hype, performance, concert, screaming song. I was seriously thrown by how impressive it was

The way the vocals are being harmonized reminds me a LOT of EXO ala Growl.
The not using autotune etc. is kinda obvious. With 12 girls who can actually ALL sing, you don't need it. If you'll noticed, there is a LOT of doubling (in the arrangement, not the mixing) going on, especially during the chorus.
And opinion wise :P.
But hey, I'm not one to talk as I didn't like YYXY's release even though I still love the other songs.

I'd soooo love to see them react to Love Cherry Motion! Any of them not seen it yet? Then you should make a react soon before LOONA blows up and they do see it off camera. That first time watching it is just reaction gold! Be sure not to give spoilers or make them expect much though. I have no idea if the song is musically good. I just love the contrast of sweet and girlpower! 😍
Preferably let them react to another song first, the most sweet bubbly and pure they don't know yet. Then they'll get tricked to expect that again and the beat drop will have have even more impact.
I'm a little late but audio guy chiming in here, the instrumentals being buried in the mix is definitely deliberate and basically a necessity because of the detuned synths(I think they're pitched down in some sort of microtone interval, but I'm not a pitch guy so I could be wrong).
The mix would be way too abrasive if that didn't take a backseat the second the vocals kicked in. Honestly I'm impressed that it was even featured as prominently as it was.
The capitalize O and T in FavOriTe is because our fandom is Orbit and they are like saying

I totally agree with you about the instrumentals! I thought I was the only one thinking they were somehow using non chord tones or just notes outside of the key, making them sound slightly augmented or dissonant or something close to that. Strange... but good!

This song in melon sets as dance song. I quite like it but, damn the mv camera work makes me dizzy 😅 I dont know if I will like the debut title track since the composer made taeyon circus, luna keep on doin, wekimeki metronome and gidle dollar, and those songs arent my cup of tea, but I hope at least one of the bsides is to my taste. Cannot wait for loonatheballad in 2019💕
I think the reason the brass samples sound off to you is that the low sounds have been filtered out, it's noticeable once the kick comes in and you realize it was missing. I'm assuming another instrument fills up that frequency space once it starts filling out more
what threw me off about the beginning was the lower harmony, like the main synth up on top just goes down a minor scale to sol, but the lower one harmonizing, which I thought was some percussion at first, is actually pitched!
