Vintage Fishing, Carp on 10’ cane rod & center pin reel

Ey up piscators, after some inspiration from In The Edge With Alex, today I’m fishing a 10’ Army & Navy cane carp rod and Strike Right Aduraflow De Luxe center pin reel at Robinwood Lakes Fishery. It’s a Bank Holiday Sunday and quite busy, so I listened to some classic cricket commentary to drown out the sound of anglers on their phones. Ah, the sound of leather on willow. Thanks for watching. Nice fish played skilfully on light tackle! I love the retro stuff, i haven't quite got around to stumping up for a cane rod yet but ive bought 2 ancient faulty centre pins and repaired them. I use one with 8lb line for tench, carp, barbel etc and one with 3.5lb for silvers and perch.

Sounds good. There are plenty of whole can and split can rods for sale on ebay which don't cost a lot. That's how my obsession started!.

I just ordered an old Hardy Goodwin reel. From what I read it’s a centrepin reel but now others are telling me it’s not. Any chance you’d know?
