      To answer a question you had on aiming, I don't know about Controller but I did some testing with mouse using tool assistance.
      With consistent and repeatable testing, I was able to get a tool to rotate my player camera in MCC 90 degrees at a time at the press of a button. 4 Presses = full 360 degrees, and a full 360 could be repeated 5 times without the original aiming point deviating. This was conducted at 1.6 Sensitiviy in MCC, and it works identical in Halo CE, Halo 2, H2A, Halo 3, Halo Reach, and Halo 4.
      Using this same tool with the same values in Halo Infinite and also on 1.6 sensitivity, it's not immediately apparent that anything is different, but when completing a single full 360, it appears to have travelled an extra 5-10 degrees or so from the original point of aim. Dropping down to 1.5 sensitivity and trying again, it lands a full 20 degrees short of the original aim point.
      Given that this is supposed to be the same engine, I'm not sure why there's a discrepancy, but it's at least repeatable, meaning I don't think there's anything wrong under the hood, it's just out of alignment.
      The REAL issue is that we're lacking finetuning options to overcome this. MCC and other shooters allow you to tune an extra decimal point or two down, so you can get more precise (ie 1.6 to 1.55 or 1.555). With Halo Infinite we have to make do with 1 decimal point of precision, and it means that we cannot match the MCC default sensitivity.

      Because the games industry has finally figured out what a bunch of suckers their consumers are. We buy literally anything they serve us up. It doesn't matter if they release a half-assed, featureless or bug riddled game, we just eat it right up. There are almost no risks attached to launching a AAA-game these days. Whales will buy out the online stores and pre-order hype will ensure a stable release income. It's all easy money.
      Unless the consumer habit of buying anything regardless of quality will change, the industry will continue down this path. Right now it's a self-sustaining business model. People will get sick of it at some point, but it will take a long ass time until consumers get more critical if we don't spread more awareness.

    a hitmarker toggle for the campaign and different colors for the crossair would be great too, the game is so customizable but one of the most important stuff is not for some reason

      A hitmarker toggle would be excellent! Especially in ranked and swat I find that sometimes the kill confirmation hitmarker can obscure what’s behind it!

      @@GallowayJesse They're not that out of place considering arena's arcadey nature, but I just don't like them in general. They just don't feel necessary, it's like 343 was ticking off boxes of shit to put in a modern AAA shooter.

      To me it's annoying that enemy player colour also affects things like the Radar, threat sensor, reticule, etc. But hey, I already think it's overblown that all vehicles need a complete outline. Why this outline thing is so nessecary is beyond me. In campaign we can also figure out what to shoot at..

    absolutely agree with the support studio! It really seems like 343 doesn't have enough manpower to properly deal with the 10 year support cycle. Every big studio does it. In Assassin's Creed Valhalla, not one DLC came from the main developer. If the content output will be as slow as I fear, Halo will fall behind again.

      343's manpower issue is mostly down to the contractor situation. Microsoft hires contractors with a max contract length of 18-24 months so as to avoid paying full time staff benefits. Staff join the company, get used to working on the games toolset, then get canned and the cycle begins anew.

      @@Cooper323 it's not a MS thing as a few studios have support studios. The initiative has freaking Crystal Dynamics helping them while CD is struggling to make content for the avengers game. Priorities and management is just completely fucked all around the industries.

      @@Chemicol3 Yep. So true. Having support studios and outsourcing is a standard in the game industry as it can possibly be but Microsoft isn't doing that enough.
      Microsoft has a lot of internal problems. Management is a lot of the times really bad. They focus a lot on making it difficult for everyone who work with their services and they themselves are a lot of the time clueless about everything they work with.
      I literally work with Microsoft at my job. They are making my job more difficult to work with because they can't decide on changes and the changes they do make are bad and they themselves don't understand what they do. We often express frustration at Microsoft on our Monday meetings.

    The current BTB’s random vehicle stuff makes the team fight each other more for the vehicles than the enemy team

      It’s atrocious in the one fiesta map with spawns as well. More often than not one team spawns with a wasp/banshee/etc while the other gets a mongoose. If you are unlucky with weapon spawns you don’t have a choice but to just try and brute force your way to destroy them. Add that with the fact that your team starts to get pushed back as the opponent uses their better vehicles, when your side finally spawns them, the entire map is run by the enemy team and suddenly they have 2 wasps and you keep spawning with a needler and pistol. I know fiesta is supposed to be random, but introducing vehicles adds unnecessary chaos that just further imbalances the teams. The only fix I can imagine is to make the vehicles spawn in with random vehicles, but then give the same vehicle to both teams.

    Genuinely love the game but I need to see a lot changes happen.
    Melee feels inconsistent and I need that fixed.
    Customization should have cross core compatibility.
    Have more armour unlockable through normal gameplay and leave the store for special coatings and effects for flair.
    Some stuff like that is what I feel should be done.
    There are some things about this game that are genuinely perfect, but the rest needs lots of work. The changes you have stated I absolutely agree with

      The melee stuff kills me. I really hate that a few rounds from the AR and a punch can kill without even depleting the shields first. It’s horrific to me.

      @@No0bD3sTroYer I don’t have a huge problem with melee damage. I mostly have a problem with the fact that melee’s sometimes don’t work properly and either don’t register or the lunge doesn’t work even though I’d be close enough for it to do so

    As far as the support team goes, if the rumors we've heard about the revolving-door of staff they've had are true; then they really need to nail that down as well. Hard to have a support team when you barely have a main team to begin with.

      It doesn't seem to be rumors, microsoft just doesn't employ people only contractors for x time... I don't know exactly how it works in the us but it seems to be an abuse to lower employment cost... At the cost of game quality since each new contractor needs to learn the ropes and each contractor lost is lost knowledge that 343 could really use... Perhaps there are only like a few full time employees, the ones that most appear on streams and videos and seem to be heads of departments...

      @@HydratedBeans Considering the pacing of the updates and 343 words I don't thinks theres crunch if any involved... Just a problem o lost knowledge over the course of the alleged 4 years of game development...
      See if I can make an example... The engine was finished and a batch of new contractors come in for 1 year to build the game... They learn how the engine works and build from there... Then they leave... A new batch of contractors come in, they look at whats already been built and have no clue what they're looking at... They have to learn the engine, and whatever is already built before they can even begin to build new stuff, since otherwise they can't find bugs... Then the project gets so large people can't learn it all and bugs become super hard to pin point...
      This is what I meant with lost knowledge.

      @@CrisRaf This is unfortunately fairly common in manufacturing jobs in the U.S. It was new to me in the game development industry. Hopefully this isn't a common practice I wasn't aware of. But basically it boils down to as you said lower overhead for having to pay employees. While it varies a bit based on state and other factors, by keeping them as temporary contractors they don't have to pay for various benefits they would be required to legally give full time employees. If someone works full time hours for a long enough period in the U.S. they automatically are legally entitled to become full time if they are a part time or temp worker.
      When I used to work for Walmart as a part timer I actually got warned I was getting so many hours I was approaching that threshold for full time and I needed to keep an eye out and avoid going over that point and I had heard that in at least one other instance there too. (Which to me is absurd) But yeah its kind of a crap set of laws that gets abused and leads to some abusive employee/employer relationships in some instances.
      Edit: Also I am sure there was a decent crunch for the game, but I would agree it was almost certainly not the actual cause of problems.

    I know it’s hard to imagine waiting even longer than we had to, but just imagine how popping the community would be and how exciting it would be for halo if it was delayed another year and we weren’t exposed to an unfinished product. Imagine hopping in day one, to the playlists we all know and love, coop campaign, forge. And more than just ten maps split between every mode. And why not throw in firefights while your at it, this is supposed to be the halo for the next ten years so it should really have every key staple of Halo at launch.
    (Also) I find it odd that none of the non-human weapons and vehicles are customizable, can’t even equip stuff like charms. And you can’t even see them in the vehicle bay or weapons bench area. And considering how little you even see things like the wraith or banshee in game it just feels like they are gone. I miss them.

      Honestly, same. I likely wasn't going to play the game for long due to no playable Elites (they're what makes Halo feel like Halo to me), but I wanted to give the game a chance. The lack of features was incredibly underwhelming. I might also the only one, but the movement just felt... off to me, as if you were moving just slightly too slow. Add what LNG said about the aiming and the shooting just not having good player feedback in my opinion and I put down the multiplayer after about an hour. I didn't even bother buying the campaign due to how the multiplayer felt, though it being a $60 continuation of a story I didn't care to see the end of was also a factor. That's another thing: I really don't think the campaign should be $60. Maybe $30-40, but certainly not $60. If the campaign and multiplayer were a combined package, and the game was otherwise feature-complete like LNG laid out in the video, then I'd be fine with a $60 price tag. However, that price seems too high for ONLY a Halo campaign, even if Infinite's campaign is more expansive than previous games.

      @@TheLegend-ff8ty I agree maybe if the campaign was longer, and came complete with coop it could be 60, as there are beautiful games out there worth the single player campaign alone, I think it just needs the length and replay ability (through coop) to justify it. But yea I agree definitely not worth a full $60 how it stands rn, but if you can play through the game pass or other means I’d recommend it still, I personally found the story really refreshing

      the fact that it's taken this long to even be relased is a sigh it was a "side" game that didn't get enough TLC in the first place.
      Why that is I can't even begin to fathom. But it's something game companies do sometimes. Not enough faith in their own product perhaps. Being to focused on other games instead of giving one TLC to really stand out. EA made that mistake. They paied for it. Ubisoft did too. Companies like Capcom can get good results (Devil May Cry).
      Just got to really knuckle down and focus. You can get good results in a year or two from scratch if you REALLY put your heart and soul into it. Provided you got a good plan. Use shadow of mordor and shadow of war as templates and you can see the difference between the games. Unfortunately this company has a reputaiton of halo games being flawed. CE had it right first time. Then it gets more flawed with 2. Reach was actually "ok" (it's honestly overhyped IMO). Not bad, kind of good. But not quite hitting the "great" mark where it can be viewed as something that pushes every bar. Compaions are too scripted and immortal. Gameplay suffers as a result. At least make them fall in a fight or something.
      After that long of having flawed game mechanics that were done better at a earlier date then what reasons is there to believe they'll get their act together now? The track record isn't showing it. The only way this is going to be turned around is if a 3rd party gets involved to assist 343 and stop the microstansactions while polishing and improving the game. 343 simply can not do it on their own. Not because of few staff, even 3 people with heart and soul can make shit from gold. It's because 343 probably feels trapped and "done". Perhaps tired to the point where they care less and less. Their company is falling into decline. This (and the microtasnactions) indicates a result of poor management with a limited vision. The story also displays that.
      Let's be honest here. Halo has lost its heart and soul. If things don't change very soon then it will continue to be the case.

      Seriously. They should’ve of fixed EVERYTHING that’s wrong and added the missing stuff... and made the campaign better (ending wise) would’ve been cool to have finished the fight too. But we all could’ve waited 1-2 years more. We have enough damn good games to keep us busy... too bad 343 and Microsoft are greedy little A holes.

    Split timed events, timed challenges, and so many paywalls alienate a large portion of the target audience. Anyone from 15-35 is either too busy, too poor, or too much of both to be able to earn anything. We’ve passed the point where customization isn’t a gameplay feature. It is, and should be treated as such

      Problem is, this is Halo. Any other game that never had custom characters or skins introduces them with monetization. Customizing your spartan is like unlocking and leveling guns in CoD, it _IS_ the game. You can't suddenly lock away that feature behind a paywall when there is nothing else to do in your game.

    *If the rumors are to be believed.* The biggest thing they need to fix (but won't be able to) is to hire full time developers to work on the game rather that have those temp contractors because of Microsoft's employment policies, development direction won't work in any meaningful way if they employment of people working on the game is a revolving door.

    Horizontal menus are just the worst thing in modern gaming. I can't fathom how someone can look at Reach's UI and decide that it's not mostly perfect.

      I’ve done some UI/UX design and I agree. These cards seem to show up in every design these days. Appropriate for something like Netflix but not for armor coatings/customization. You could easily fit a vertical grid on screen that could be scrollable as new coatings are added to the game. I’d also add that they’ve used icons and images in places where text would suffice.
      I actually have a bunch of UI criticisms for this game but will spare you.

      Those menus work well for mobile games with touch inputs but pc and console games? They are just awful!

      BINGO! Many of the menus are an absolute sluggish mess! Horizontal menus are a chore to navigate, take up more space, and show even LESS of the menu contents! Th UI/UX really needs some revamping and cleaning up. It feels a bit amateur and incomplete in its current state.

    This was an EXCEPTIONAL video. I think it hit the nail right on the head in terms of both content and tone. I adore the work that was put into Halo Infinite, but the management and organization is downright abhorrent, and falls unacceptably short of the internal standard that Halo has created for itself. We should all count ourselves lucky that we have someone like you representing the community's interest to 343

      You can change the HUD position in the options, LNG prefers it like that. Frankly if the shield bar wouldn't move with the ammunition counter and radar I would do the same.
      To me by moving everything together near the center becomes too much info that covers you fov, but I also hate having the counters in the bottom, over the gun model nonetheless. Not to mention frags, AA and ammo all clustered together makes it even harder to read at first glance. At least by making it higher your vision does not need to travel as much, but again: too much stuff in the center for my liking.
      By far the worst HUD in the series imho.

    So glad you mentioned the main menu even though it seems like a relatively smaller issue. Ive noticed this in a lot of newer games and its really hard to put into words but they just feel off and it really bothers me

    I would like to see the customization be available offline for consoles. At least for stuff you get in campaign, when I try to access it, it just loads forever and I can't access it at all and that's really frustrating.
    Also if 343 is going to add more classic weapons, I would like them be patched in to the campaign as well as multiplayer, because some of the weapons (i.e the Bulldog and Sidekick) just don't seem to feel great in use. They don't have to replace them just add the classic weapons (if 343 adds them) alongside the new weapons.

      The thing is though, I am going to bet within the next few years, the customization menu, is going to be gargantuan and probably bigger than Halo 5 in the end and the storage requirements for just this one menu are going to balloon in size and not sure everyone wants to download say a 300 GB game. So the customization may only be available to access online for the forseeable future because of the storage problem with how much content we want to expect from a game like Halo. LateNight wants modes and stuff to be bigger and better than previous titles, problem is it takes longer and longer to make this content and modes, etc. which as 343 has said to us already, its going to be ready when its ready. I will say 343 needs to get with the times pretty quickly soon as he is right that people are not going to wait for new content to roll out on a consistent basis. New content is going to have to launch on a weekly if not monthly basis.

      honestly that would be useful i guess but i have never had problem remembering 3 quick things before going into a match .. ah ok get 10 kills with the br, get a back smack, and play 5 free for all matches... not hard to remember whatsoever

    Am I the only one who’s been getting frustrated with tactical slayer’s spawns? It feels like I’m spawned close to if not right next to an enemy so often that I’m killed either right as I spawn, or mere seconds after. It feels broken.

      Spawn in Tactical gets absolutely broken sometimes. Network connections are shakey at times and that causes players to time out- causing new players to spawn into a game where the other team is moving around. This creates spawn faults and it’s frustrating as hell. I agree big time.

      Yeh, I've felt that too, I honestly would just play tactical slayer if its a objective for xp... its a slog to do. Its probably more due to the fact headship are 1 hit kills, the spawns for me get odd when teams spread out.

    I really like the coating system, but I feel that it should be supplemental to armor colors, not replacing them. Coatings should be more like textures and patterns, with the actual colors themselves being fully customizable with primary, secondary, tertiary, ect.

    I hate how limiting the armor customization is. I literally cant change anything about my spartan without shelling out cash. What makes it sting even more is that almost all of the armor customization had been lifted from MCC. I love the gameplay but seeing the customization menu leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

      @@calebcarpenter3700 well there's all the free stuff in the battle pass (which it's true will take several hours to unlock) there's also the other events they've had that aren't tenrai and then there's weekly challenges both of which can give you sweet shaders or weapon skins or armor

A majority of the shit you can earn through gameplay is ass compared to the rest of the battlepass, which shouldn't even be a fucking thing because all of the customization should've been put in the game at launch. With various challenges and an actual fucking progression system you can use to unlock said customization. But Microsoft sees you as a little money pig they can just squeeze and squeeze until you're done.

      @@symbiotexspidey9493 Considering 343 is a fundamentally ever-changing studio run on contract work enforced by Microsoft, it really isn't up to them anyway. It's like comparing modern Bungie to the Bungie that made Halo CE. They're literally different companies. Microsoft is constantly letting go and hiring new employees, while simultaneously crunching them into the ground. It really isn't 343's fault, because 343 is just a name for an abuse cult created and maintained by Microsoft, that is occasionally forced to churn out a game.

    This is precisely the right tone and delivery of constructive criticism that game devs should receive. I've taken a break from the game because I felt very good coming off of the campaign but just didn't feel consistently engaged/rewarded by the multiplayer progression system. Your recommendation to 343 to branch out to a support studio is possibly the most important piece of feedback 343 could take; Microsoft would do well to create an in-house support studio for their first party games in general (their Perfect Dark reboot has recently sought the assistance of Crystal Dynamics, which is a great idea), and Halo would benefit from it enormously.
    The very core of this game is so solid and encouraging for a bright future, but 343's management and business teams need to swallow their pride and drastically rework the most off-putting aspects of the game so that they can better honor not just the players but the developers who put their blood, sweat and tears into making this game.

    YES. 100% YES regarding the vehicle health system. Halo 3 did it best. Hands down. The shared health with the driver was genius. You couldn’t just pick off a banshee with a BR spam. Anti-vehicle weaponry was necessary.

      I don't agree with CE being better than Infinite, Vehicles in CE is the worst of the series actually and the driving was even more floaty than Infinite is. But I agree the health for the vehicles are too low.

      Yeah Reach and and every game since that has the vehicle health be separate have never felt right.
      Vehicles in halo since then have felt weak especially in the armour department and it’s such a departure from infantry gameplay the whole idea of vehicle gameplay as it is from combat evolved to halo 3 was to have it play in the same way as infantry where your shields go down and you can fall back to regenerate them but with a level of limited usage as the vehicle had its own hp that couldn’t be fully depleted with a player driving but the lower the vehicles’ health got the more damage the player took so it was still at least some what worth lighting up a vehicle you knew you couldn’t put down as still making it weaker.
      I’d say the only way to really do separate vehicle health right it focus on damage resistances so say a warthog would resist 60% of damage from small arms ballistic fire and say 40% of small arms plasma fire but you could play more into the locational vehicle damage system with this these weapons would do extra damage if they hit the warthog weakspot the engine.
      Say a scorpion tank that would be completely immune to small arms fire and only take like 10% damage from plasma fire because at the moment especially in campaign vehicles are just pathetically weak when my scorpion tank is taking major damage and having parts being blown off by light pulse carbine fire something is incredibly wrong.
      The simple way to fix this is, significantly buff the health of all vehicles and then just give all anti vehicles weapons a significant damage buff against them.

    Thank you for bringing up the TAA, it's gotta be the worst implementation I've ever seen, and it's a shame because infinite doesn't have the best lighting but it does have some extremely high quality textures and geometry at times, which is exactly the sort of thing TAA obscures.
    TAA is actively ruining the few graphical effects that could make infinite look better than it is.
    I also noticed that the contact shadows (especially noticable on grass) seem to trail behind objects in motion, which suggests that there's a serious issue temporal effects in general, not just anti aliasing

    There's something about the vehicles in Halo Infinite that people seem to be overlooking. It has nothing to do with the vehicles themselves (although that is still an issue with them being so fragile) The problem I've come to realize in BTB is the ordinance drops. The vehicles dont last very long when everyone has a rocket launcher or a skewer or a cindershot dropping from the sky every 30 seconds. It reintroduces the problem with Halo 4's ordinance system where you never know what to expect because everyone had a power weapon slot machine in their back pocket. I think back to the days of Valhalla where there's was one spartan laser in the middle of the map and if you knew which team had it you could more effectively use vehicles. Now, who knows what's waiting with power weapons dropping all over randomly and not to mention 3 different ways to EMP a vehicle.
    The idea of vehicle damage reflecting performance is unfortunately most times not even relevant because the health of the vehicles and the abundance with ordinance means you will probably die in a matter of seconds anyway.
    The way I see it, ordinance was an unneeded addition that negatively affects the vehicle gameplay.

      @@Fire4ward no one wants br starts, they ruin sandbox and gameplay transforming matches in people always hiding and shooting from the two sides of the map, the pelican drop is not a bad thing if there is a bunch of vehicles that spawn in set places at the start and during a match, i mean the solution is and always be the same, they just need to merge the two styles, 343 and Bungie, to have a great result, look at gameplay and art design, they are just merged styles and the results seem to please everyone

    A custom emblem system like for honor’s would fit so well, because the emblem and banner system are very simple, but just my being able to position 3 emblems together to make a mini chief or something very creative would fit extremely well here.

    Vehicles need such an overhaul. The ghost, while prettier, is such a shadow of its formal glory when compared to Halo 5. Vehicles came in clutch big time when playing Warzone.

    I would like for them to remove weapon glint. I’d imagine it would be harder for new players to get better with certain power weapons if everyone and they momma knows you picked it up and you’re using it.

      The glint ruined some custom games too. I can’t play hide and sneak snipers with friends anymore because everyone has a huge glowing light over them, and that’s if I can even get a custom game to load with everyone in the lobby.

      i literally do not understand why every modern game feels the need to add scope glint. I get it for battlefield when a dude can be a couple of miles away, but for halo? It's pretty obvious if some one is sniping from their positioning/movement plus the weapons that spawn on the map and sniping in a game as fast as halo is pretty difficult as is. Snipers don't need a big "shoot me" light over them except for maybe the skewer as a warning to vehicles. Like, why the hell does a BR need a sniper glint? What's a BR going to do from that range, tickle me?

    I absolutely don't like the current Spartan customization. Getting the custom armor I want to match what I had on Halo Reach now feels VERY grindy. Lack of challenges I think.

      Halo 2 you had to win a few matches to rank up and lose a few to rank down.
      Halo 3 you lose a match you rank down you win you rank up.
      Reach you played you gained credits end of story.
      But this game? There's nothing, you win a game you barely get anything? You lose? Same story. There is nothing to this game is the issue itself.

    This is just depressing. 343 and Microsoft are making it just SO HARD for me to like them. I’m getting to my limit, I can’t take this anymore. The campaign is SO GOOD, but the multiplayer seems to have been left behind.

      Halo infinite is the first 343 halo title that I had an enjoyable time playing. Even then though the campaign needs some improvements. Hunters are a bit bullet spongey, I want more diverse environments, and allies being able to drive vehicles. There are barely any ai driving stuff around compared to previous games.

    the ui is nightmarish, there's no way to tell what shader applies to what item when you unlock it, i didnt find attachments until several weeks in, and there doesnt need to be rarities because there's no lootboxes

    i love that someone finally talked about the menu. i think that is why i lose so much excitement when i boot up the game i feel like i have to trudge through the unpleasant menu to get to the game i enjoy. the menu needs work.

    The aiming side of things is most likely tied to the “borderless windowed” exclusivity.
    The claim is that DX12 can run borderless windowed as if it was full screen. But what you described sounds like input lag, and it’s something I’ve noticed personally

    I want to start out by saying I love the game, I have every (available) achievement, fully participated in every event, done every weekly. However I think the people that were brushing off to communities complaints are wrong and I think the games player retention is proof of that, lack of content, poor progression system and customization, over inflated store, lack of community focused features. Most people do need incentives to play so the people saying “back in my day we didn’t need no progression system/ didn’t need to play dress up!” Are just missing the mark entirely. In my experience a solid progression, customization, and file share all worked in tandem in past halo games to feature your experience and journey, in halo 3 I had funny screenshots that reflected the pure goofy fun I had as well as my one killtastrophe game, and my best perfection game, my armor reflected my 100% completion of the game and the hard work I put into the grind, my ranking showed my skill level and time invested. In halo infinite I feel like I have very little to show for my work and my time invested, and I really understand why others haven’t been able to stick with the game. Halo infinite really has the potential to be the best halo experience to date, but it falls short in such a frustrating way I can’t help but be disappointed and upset.

    Excellent video man! Agree with just about everything you mentioned here with a couple of notes/additions:
    1. Regarding vehicle spawning, I do feel like people tend to treat this as unnecessarily black and white. I feel like the pelican drop aspect could work fine if they just made them consistent and not always neutral. When I say consistent, I mean that the vehicles can “escalate” like 343 wants so long as the set that spawns is the EXACT SAME (albeit different per map) every time. For example, if on Fragmentation, the set would go Rocket Hog -> Banshee -> Scorpion ALWAYS and at SET TIMES. This would allow players & teams to at least plan around these spawns at specific moments during the game just like with default base spawns. Secondly, when referring to neutrality, I mean that not every pelican drop has to occur out in front of a base (or away from the base). You can have pelicans drop off things in or behind a base as just a fancier way of doing default spawns. That way the vehicle isn’t so easily stolen by the enemy out in front and once again requires planning to use or counter.
    2. You didn’t mention the weapon drops so I wanted to add that here. I basically feel the same about these as I do the vehicles. The lack of consistency with these makes BTB a frustrating experience because there’s no way to predict what weapons you’ll encounter. It reminds me a lot of Halo 4’s Ordinance Drop fiasco. If they made it so that specific power weapons dropped in a specific times (on specific maps), it would make for a less frustrating experience (both on foot and in vehicles).
    3. I know you’ve talked about it before, but it wasn’t mentioned here so I’ll add it as well: The HUD is terrible in this game. Switching grenades and checking ammo counts is incredibly clunky compared to previous games. They really should just add back the ability to see all grenades and bullet count/plasma bar pictograms. At the very least, I want to see the ability to move the HUD elements around as we see fit.

    You can't ram with the banshee because dragging against surfaces damages the vehicle so quickly. This needs to be fixed

      You're ramming. Of course the banshee will take damage. If anything it makes more sense to have it damaged when it hits the vehicle. The thing has guns. Use them.

      Realism isn't an excuse in a game about mutated child soldiers fighting the space pope, roided up monkeys, suicidal gremlins who breathe farts, the list goes on

    Thank you! I've been struggling with so many of these issues, especially the gameplay/performance issues on PC for so long, it's great seeing someone give voice to them.
    Also, 15:42 the non-existent bullet magnetism when un-scoped is great for people at the top of the skill ceiling, but I think it was a bad call in a game that demands precision and has this many syncing issues

    I’d like 343 to seriously consider how they are balancing weapons in this game. The Ravager before release in flights was rather decent, now it’s commonly regarded as one of the worst weapons in the game and is commonly left on its rack. They Nerfed the bulldog shotgun and made it worse than it already is, now they are planning to do the same with the Mangler via Tashi at 343. It is my belief that the sandbox team now at 343 is fucking with the sandbox in the wrong way, just weakening weapons until they become useless and trying to fit a square into a circular hole in the case of the bulldog. I would encourage them to look at what Quin’s ideas were behind these weapons and attempt to try to stick to that at least a bit, and start work on adding weapons that fill a vacant archetype.

      I figured out that the only way to use the ravanger effectively is by dropping a charged shot then swapping to a pistol or BR for a headshot.

      @@rickygforce4217 it has a terribly inconsistent fire rate and I know it has full auto, but it isn't always the best option in the situation. The mangler just performs better right now at close range. It also needs a more consistent 2 shot kill since I rarely get one, even at very close range.

      Imo if a weapon can only really be used one way in multiplayer without being completely screwed for using it there’s an issue with that weapon. There needs to be an actual point to using the ravager’s main fire option and inconsistency with semiauto bulldog fire is an issue. Not to mention as well that as far as I can tell there is no point in any plasma weapons rn that aren’t power weapons or the stalker rifle; they don’t strip shields well at all and the headshot multiplier ruins the thesis of some of those weapons

I think the game as it is right now is very promising, but needs much more work to be up to par. Also, I don't know if it was mentioned, or if I just missed it, but Infinite desperately needs to see the return of the classic weapons we expected to see. The weapon sandbox feels a little sparse or narrow to me as far as normal weaponry is concerned, especially with regards to the Covenant. We need to see the return of the Carbine, Plasma Rifle, SMG, old Shotgun, as well as get a major rebalance for weapons like the Shock Rifle, and plasma pistol. I'd suggest putting the EMP back on the PP, and taking it away from all the electric weapons. They make the vehicle sandbox feel even less useful than they ever were when the Spartan Laser was the biggest threat around. All of the electric weapons have an interesting effect already, like chip damage, or player arcing, maybe just improve the disruptor and shock grenade's damage (the shock rifle is currently completely OP, it's literally the sniper, but with arcing and EMP all combined into 1 gun).
    I find it truly incredible that MCC - the game that released in the single worst state of any Halo title - managed to come back around and become the most content packed, consumer friendly, and feature complete Halo experience we've seen, and yet Infinite just didn't learn from it's example at all. It's a shame. I defended Infinite a lot in the last 2 months, sighting 343's sudden turn-around with MCC as my glimmer of hope that the game could be fixed with relative ease, but it's really more than that, unfortunately. They really do need a lot of external help. I do hope they can do something with all of these issues by the release of Season 2, and have it become the "spiritual reboot" of Infinite, and become what the franchise needed it to be. If they can't bring it around quickly enough, it's unfortunate, but it really might be time for 343 to go.

    I would love to play with Americans and Europeans but the problem is, I live in Australia, a country with 3rd world internet for some reason, half of my games in Infinite have 150-250 ping, and the only reason I can tell I am not on Australian servers is because once in a while a guy in mic will have an American accent, as much as I love the accent I cannot stand getting shot from around corners more then everyone else just because the game server still thinks I am out in the open, 250 ping is literally a quarter second delay and that is unacceptable.
    343 needs to add server filters like the one that exists in the MCC, otherwise my enjoyment is hinged to complete luck.
    I know lag can sometimes help me against enemies but I don’t want to be cheep, I want to do well because of my achievement not because I am stuck on the American west coast, after all I am not a dirty hacker I want to have to earn that double kill, not because I was teleporting but because of my strafe technique.

    It would be pretty rad if I could modify HUD elements. I'm a huge fan of Halo 2's setup, with the energy shields displayed just above the radar. Maybe HUD presets could be a thing, with different displays from the series being reflected in the options. I also prefer my crosshair lowered, and was surprised to see that the option wasn't in Infinite when it's in MCC. It'd be pretty awesome to have that option back.

    I know this video is almost a month old now, but I wanted to make my own pitch for armor customization. Maybe 343 can go ahead and instead of making different cores with every single armor piece and coating married to that core, they can make each piece of armor and coating have their own cores. These would include Helmet Cores, Shoulder Cores, Chest Cores, Etc. Then, You can use your coatings on the parts of the armor that use that core. For instance, you can use the Peppermint Laughter coating on parts with the Mk VII core, the Redacted Records coating on parts with the Mk V B core, and you get what I mean. All I and pretty much the entire community ask for is more customization. THIS would be more in line with what we were promised for the past 3 years.

    The aiming has alot to do with framerate. So the jump from 30 FPS to 60 FPS showed issues due to consistency. The further it goes the more it will show or feel.

    Did you watch Halo Infinite's credits? There were like 10 additional studios that worked on this game. Moving forward, they still need support, but they fumbled development and didn't know how best to land a Pelican that was being driven by 5 different pilots. I hope that the foundation they have is strong enough to get them moving forward quicker than the six years this incomplete game took.

    Something I remember because it just hit badly at the community, and I don’t even remember what it was about, but it was when they responded to overwhelming community feedback by essentially saying “this was our vision for this and we prefer it this way so we won’t be changing it”. I think it was the BTB vehicles. It upsets me how arrogant 343 can be as a studio sometimes. Something bungie said in a vidoc once was as soon as you start acting like what you’ve put out there is the best thing ever, it’s guaranteed that it isn’t. That rings so true for 343 as a studio. They need to stop patting themselves on the back so much over decisions the community actively is disagreeing with, because free to play or not, you won’t have a playerbase if you fight your own community because it doesn’t fit your “vision”

    I was playing against bots one match and there was a bug where the blue coloured bot didn’t have the “enemy outline” that it normally does
    So it was like I was shooting a blue Spartan like the good old days
    I think a classic red vs blue with NO OUTLINES would be a great playlist
    It really shows off the art style of the Spartans

    I appreciate that you actually mentioned how bad Halo Infinite's UI is. 343 has always had poor UI design, favouring horizontal side scrolling and dozens of sub menus.
    Halo reach should be the baseline of what halo UI's should be (every thing can be accessed quickly, simply, and buttons and labels are set in a vertical layout).
    We need a functional UI, not a flashy UI

    Thank you for mentioning the absurd load times just to be able to see your challenges and events. Too often i just have to tab out and go watch a youtube video while i wait for that to load. I think your right about a lot of things, also while i understand that they've been working hard, the whole "christmas break for hte employees" felt more like a "Your (playerbase) on your own" rather than a "Good job for making a great game, you deserve a break." Another thing i would like to mention, is that sometimes when i start up the game, all my settings seem to be put on maximum. I'll get into a game and suddenly any small twitch of the aim stick makes my spartan act like he was just smacked across the face with a 2x4, and i can't fix this unless i log off and come back on.
    The lack of content was staggering, and only made more apparent once the servers for BTB crashed and could barely be played. What started off as 10 maps was reduced to 7, and there was nothing the playerbase could really do about it. Then players were getting even more mad as the weeks went by and the weekly rewards for doing challenges was...emblems and backs for their emblems? Even the weapon coating felt lackluster as it was limited to ONLY the sniper rifle. Too often i also see the video where 343 was talking about the armor customizations to hype up the player base and showing all these options...half of which aren't even in the game yet (not even the store) and the half that is, is locked behind a paywall.
    I also completely agree with your aiming point. In past Halo games, i was amazing with the sniper rifle, that when i played custom games with my friends they actively made sure to keep me away from the sniper rifle, and in multiplayer, i would get consistent high scores with the sniper rifle. In Halo Infinite, i avoid it like the plague. If i pick it up, i feel as though i'm nothing but a detriment to the team. A lot of the weapons also feel as though you don't want to use them. The pulse carbine, the ravager, the suppressor, all feel as though you would be better off just sticking to the good ol' AR and sidekick.
    There's a lot that needs to be fixed and frankly, it feels as though 343 isn't as concerned as we would like them to be. Yeah they set out interviews where they say they are sorry, but as with all past experiences with "big leagues" releasing apologies, unless they put some substance behind their words, all they are trying to do is save face.

    I've had no problems whatsoever with aiming so far. I think Infinite might even have the best aiming. I assume you play on controller so this might just be controller problem? On MKB it feels really good.

    Another point on the monetized customization. They advertised it as a better way for players to express themselves through their spartan like everyone would be super unique, but the model incentivizes buying whatever is new in the shop which leads to about 50% or more of all spartans in multiplayer looking exactly identical. They all bought the newest color coating, the newest chest and helmet piece, they all look the same. Almost every single person I come across looks nearly identical because of the limited edition model they have, whereas in MCC everyone is 100% unique.

    When it comes to cross core customisation:
    Having people who want to stay on one artsytle. Like keeping to Reach themed armour is good. But it could easily be done with an effective filter system. Filter out MK VII armours or Yoroi armours.
    Cores are a good idea when done right. For example, 1 idea I came up with was separating cores by canonicity and species.
    Have 2 cores (currently), the Orion core (all Canon spartan armours, MKVII, MKVb, etc), the Yoroi core. When new fractures are added, more cores can come in. Then we can have playable elites as a separate core and fractures for playable elites.
    P.S. what happens to the Yoroi core post season 1. Is that it for it? Will we get anything else for this core? Any new armours events for it? What of new players, will they get a chance to get the armours? Food for thought

      Another issue I have with core specific customization, is the coatings, for example sometimes we have to pay for the same red or blue on one core instead of buying for all on one purchase or just getting all those basic colors for free , I feel like this will become an big issue when there’s more cores, imagine there being 5 or 6 different cores and you have to pay for scarlet red for all of them separately. That would probably cost more then the game itself, it should be where we earn or buy a coating, it should Available for all cores, you should only pay or earn it once . I hope 343 does something about that, I like the game but there are alot of problems that can get worse as time goes on.

      Yeah 343 should have done what they did with halo 3 in the MCC. You could change your tech suit and it went from being a gen 1 armor to gen 2 armor.

    I really like the idea of base customization like colors, emblems, and stuff like that. Giving the player their own beginner set of content, then adding in more extravagant or wacky monetized stuff. Let me set my own basic color like in old games and let me choose if I wanna add a texture like camo or carbon fiber or something like that. I hate that there’s only like 5 or 6 colors that ship with the game when a color wheel and one customizable coating would’ve given even more “player expression”

    I'm curious as to what is causing this difficulty to match Bungie's Halo games on launch in terms of content. It doesn't seem to be staff shortages, since they're a studio of 750 people. I doubt the engine is that painful to work with that it'd cause this much slowdown. Maybe they're just trying to avoid crunch and working through the nights and weekends?

    I had the same emblem for over 10 years between Halo 2 and Halo 4, and since Halo 5 came out, I have not been able to have my emblem. It genuinely vexes me that I can’t have my personalized emblem. It was part of my Halo identity since I started playing the game. The version in Halo Infinite has the wrong background and terrible color schemes that I can’t edit. Since when should sequels take away player features?

    Great video. Pretty much sums up majority of my feelings towards the current state of Infinite.
    In regards to reverting back to a system of Player Colors, I think the best approach to this would be to introduce a "Custom Coating". This can be a selectable coating in the game in which the player has extremely basic control over its settings - just two color channels for example.
    In my opinion, this wouldn't take value away from developer-made coatings and would give them an excuse to put much more effort into creating much more premium feeling coatings that stand out apart from "literally blue" and are actually worth purchasing.

    I could be wrong, but when I was reading the Jason Schreier article about HI development, he mentioned that one of the problem that the team was facing(besides the awful launch dates that MS was asking) was the engine.
    It's barely stable and I think because of that, it so difficult to add something like a play list. Perhaps that why they delayed the season 2.

    The fact that 343 still has yet to address community concerns after the holiday break is concerning. It makes me feel like there is no set path they're taking to better the game. Even if big features like game modes or maps are going to take months, at least tell us they'll take months instead of letting the population continue to decline with no sure date that they'll want to return.

    Man I just remember Halo 3 and Halo Reach having the most full fledged multiplayer experience around at the time as well as being a social catalyst made it some of the most fun EVER in gaming. Infinite lacks that and even though there is voice chat no one talks in game and there are no wacky fun game modes like infection or the ones you could make in custom games(even the limited custom game rules dont work for the time being) and forge.

    VERY well said. other things I want to add:
    The marine AI is TRASH - they can't drive vehicles. You can only have up to 5 with you at a time. They'll do stupid stuff like trade an ARCANE SENTINEL BEAM for a bulldog after you had JUST given them an ASB.They can't seem to properly maneuver the terrain and get stuck WAY too easily.
    Vehicles: sandbox is lacking, big time. Flying around the map solo in a wasp gets boring and lonely. vehicle controls are... like, what in the F**K happened? who in the hell designed this and thought it was okay? Scorpion? - unusable. Warthogs? - its a VIDEO GAME.. WE DON'T NEED THE TIRES TO FALL OFF AND MAKE THE VEHICLE DRIVE LIKE S**T just so we have to fast travel to a FOB, get a new vehicle, and gather 5 new weapons to trade with 5 new marines just so our Warthog will be able to drive at full speed. like, wtf?
    Needs firefight
    the VOICE ACTING for most characters is THE WORST IVE EVER HEARD. Using the same voice actors for brutes and elites? the f**k? Escharum's voice acting is the cheesiest stuff I've ever heard in a video game. its just.. really really bad. I could do better within 3 takes.

    What they need to do is replace Challenge Swaps in the Battlepass with Store Credits. And the way we get Challenge Swaps is one free Swap daily and a guaranteed challenge swap everytime you win a game or level up the pass. Also xp for Objectives and kills would be great. Cause imagine only getting 50xp when you captured the flag 3x and got 20 kills .-.

    I definitely feel like 343 can make this game really really good, but it desperately needs updates. It's already become tiresome to play, to the point I only log in once or twice a week when I've got a full group of friends to play, otherwise I won't touch the game. It's lacking so many modes and maps, it's become very repetitive, the lack of forge and the customs glitches really hurt the custom games for infinite. Plus, there's a myriad of issues that have just made me fed up with playing infinite. Issues such as no player collision, the glitchy and inconsistent melee behavior because of collision, spawns being really broken on some maps (launch site especially is prone to just spawning you directly in the line of fire or in the middle of an enemy team), the servers seemingly getting worse over time with 4v4 matches becoming laggier and laggier as the weeks stretch on, and BTB being more or less unplayable for over a month now. All the issues, glitches, missing features, and lack of variety have for me personally, quickly turned Infinite from the hot new Halo to a janky unfinished mess I don't want to play anymore. I really hope 343 starts pushing out patches and updates soon because the game is in desperate need of them.

    You forgot to add to your “check box list” more story, weapons and vehicles to the campaign. Don’t get me wrong I love the campaign solid 10 out of 10. However it feels incomplete and I wanna see what happens next. I want to see a new map and I want to know who the endless are. Also yes finally! Somebody is talking about the weak vehicles. Seriously every time I play with a tank, banshee, wasp anything, it explodes in like four hits. The vehicles are ridiculously weak in this game and I couldn’t enjoy The final stretch of the game with the scorpion because of how weak the vehicle is(and I was playing on easy).     I really think an optimization patch needs to come first especially for PC. I don't tend to crash a whole lot, but a few of my friends crash several times a play session.
    And honestly, the talk of Halo Reach being like a standard isn't just nostalgia talk. I really feel like 343 just keep digging a bigger hole from not learning from their mistakes.
    I do feel as though 343 should try to reach out to former Halo devs and team members and see if they'd be willing ro come back and help support at the main studio or work/start a new studio for support. I really think we could all benefit from veteran Halo devs returning. The Bungie polish is definitely missed.

    Give out 50 to 100 credits for challenges. This encourages player retention even if the players don't like the weekly reward. This will also blur the line between purest free players and those who spent money on the store.
    Unlock armor coatings customization. Instead of premade combinations, give us individual colours either througb campaign, unlocks, or purchase. If they bought one already, give them all the colours that came with that coating. This will encourage more mixing and matching with armor bits and experimentation encouraging more sales.
    Right now most people are looking at getting one set of armor and colour than never going to the store again.

    The audio glitches where shots fired from behind the player make 0 sound needs to be fixed ASAP. Also the needler frequently makes 0 sound when the enemy is firing it. How can 343 expect people to see this as competitively viable when the sound engine is completely broken?

    In terms of campaign improvements, I really liked in Halo 5 you can set a waypoint for your allies and mark enemies to focus fire or vehicles to enter in. Wish there was some kind of way to implement that in Halo Infinites campaign
