Went here during new years holiday, curious of how it tastes. Almost ordered the 16 flavors martabak but then I thought that 150k for a martabak seems too much, moreover in Yogyakarta 😹😹😹 so I went for the 8 flavors variant. The good one is the cake, It's not too greasy like another martabak.
The hype and the various toppings probably were what made this martabak is rather expensive compared to another martabak 😺

Kalau tidak mau terlalu manis... bisa minta dikurangin gula di adonan dasarnya. Saya kalau beli martabak biasanya minta dikurangin gula dan olesan menteganya.

Yes it's true Pak. While the youngest son of president is UA-camr (Kaesang), the second children (a daughter) is currently a student, and the oldest son named Gibran is businessman. Markobar is one of his businesses.

Be carefull mister Martin, Do not eat sweet martabak oftenly, because it is high calorie meal.
I reckon regular martabak manis is better (and cheaper) than markobar's. Markobar uses different kinds of chocolates (kitkat,toblerone,cadburry,etc), on other hand regular martabak manis uses chocolate springkles (Indonesian call it cokelat meises).
Meises is less sweet than kitkat,toblerone and cadbury. It also melts easily.

Lbh suka martabak biasa, yg ini udah pernah coba tp terlalu eneg. Tp kreativ sih krn jd kiblat bbrp usaha martabak sejenis di Indonesia.

it is really like pancake, but we add yeast in the batter. you can make it yourself at home, I'm sure :) anyway, it is not supposed to be called martabak, it is way too different from the real martabak.. lol.. we call it terang bulan in other parts of Indonesia.

Try martabak Casablanca, Pak Martin. I prefer their martabak to Markobar's. My favorite is the cheese-topped one.

actually this type of martabak is the more modern one and just way too expensive and doesnt taste that good. you should find like the more traditional version. and the most popular is either martabak bangka or martabak bandung
itu kalau di tempat saya namanya adalah Terang Bulan, bukan martabak. kalau martabak di tempat saya tidak manis tapi rasanya asin pedas gurih ,terbuat dari telur dan di campur dengan sayur"an. 😃😃😃

dont add sweet milk sir. because the taste of sweet milk change the orginal taste. trust me . your tongue cna enjoy the diferent taste betweeen coklate and toblerone (example) if you add swwt milk they all will the same taste only sweet.

That's way too expensive, i prefer the typical martabak that you can buy on the street for Rp30.000, much better and thicker

+Martin Johnson I've tried it with 4 toppings on top, Grean tea, kitkat, cheese, ovomaltine, and nutella that cost me around 90k+20k for Green tea and nutella. With that price i got a high expectation for the taste, but it turned out to be a disappointment, like it's not that bad but the only thing that makes it good was the topping, the dough is pretty standard there's not much taste to it in comparison to the street martabak probably because the butter they don't go easy on the butter :D . and as i mentioned the thickness and diameter are also pretty noticeable. So sorry, but it's below my standard for Martabak compares to the place that i usualy eat, i would rate markobar "indifferent" meaning it's good but i won't comeback there for the second time it was good experience to taste different toppings on martabak. *cheers*

there r so many cheaper alternative
the martabak we had in Bogor in the 70's was different. I think it was better and only 200 rupiah (about 50 cents). made like a pancake filled with chocolate, sugar sweet and condensed milk and folded over on itself. Ate almost every night.

Could you please review some Aceh restaurants? I found some of them in Jakal, Sagan and Jalan Magelang.
I'm actually surprised that Indonesian come up with Martabak, not American. I mean, Martabak is the ultimate heart attack dessert, and it looks like western food, however it is very traditional (the one you try is already modernized). American should sell Martabak, you know! To add more diabetes, heart attack, and happiness!!!
