The only real reason not all of them are canon is because what we have in the games doesn't make for a good story, and also because most of them follow their own stories seperate from the main lore. But there are bits in them on the Aftons backstory and there's a graphic novel version which gives visual on how they looked. Like how Elizabeth used to be blonde, she dyed her hair to look like Circus Baby. William is brunette and really pale with gray eyes in the graphic novel.
