Found an unopened Jam controller on OfferUp, watched this tutorial and I’m very close to pulling the trigger and buying it. Waiting to see if someone else will accept my offer on an Akai MPC touch for 275$ if not I’m getting this instead. Maschine really gives you a crazy amount of software and sounds with this controller. I’ve never had any N.I products before. My DJ friend has the Tractor S8 and uses N.I battery drum program and swears by them

Hey can you help me?have you figure out how to triggered audio/midi effects on and off? I know how to control them once I've add them to the rack but not how to trigger the entire effect rack on and off. I can use the mouse to click on and off but I want a button I can ride

My scale mode oddly doesn't look like yours at 3:40.... the root notes are scattered throughout the grid, even with minor or major scales. I'd love to have it where the root notes are left and right, like seen here. Am I doing anything wrong? Thanks!

Can i simultaneously run maschine jam and maschine mk3 together but have the jam controlling ableton live (main daw) and use the mk3 to control maschine 2 vst in live? Or are they intertwined together? Like, if jam goes to midi mode, will mk3 switch as to midi mode as well?

Hole. Lee. Shit. I had no idea Jam could control Ableton in this way. A few years ago, I ignored Maschine Jam and thought it was like "meh." I've owned Maschine since 2009 and still love the software (especially since Studio and MK3). Occasionally I dabble with Ableton. Had a Launchpad MK2, but was disappointed that its midi notes cannot be manually mapped as a template (like most other midi controllers). The Launchpad does what it does (and well) but when it comes to other DAW integration... well, there isn't much. And then, I discovered tonight (January 2019) that Maschine Jam not only enhances Maschine, but works EXACTLY like an APC40 or Push 1 (without screen), and is a flawless, amazing controller for Ableton 10... basically, the perfect controller at the perfect price point. Sure, no velocity-sensitive pads, but... a majority of my Ableton use just comes from clip-triggering and experimenting. Thanks to the Ableton scripting, Jam works exactly like a Launchpad MK2, with so many more useful functionality (the 8 performance strips, the step sequencer)... unreal. But then... how can I forget the MIDI mode templates, which, for me, work perfectly with Reaper 5 and the Megababy (Nandy's Mod) step sequencer which is insanely fun... and many other Reaper functions (including the Playtime VST, which makes Maschine Jam function like Launchpad with Ableton, and WITH the light feedback). Unreal. Disgusting, how AHEAD Native Instruments has had their thinking.... especially since 2013 or so. They upped their game in a million ways, and we benefit from their ingenuity, constantly. As much as I love Novation (I swear by my Launch Control XL and my 3 regular Launch Controls)... I cannot believe the Launchpad series still can't have a "MIDI MODE" like NI thought of, literally a decade ago. On point. Thanks for this awesome video.
There is a deal on this right now so i had to check it out. The template is cool but i already have a Push1 so i don't know.. If only it would be more of a mixer.. i really like the strips and LED indicators for metering. The world could use an advanced midi mixing desk. There are very very few options.

I managed to get both the default mode and template working at the same time, page 1: default toggle mode, page 2: default trigger/gate mode/ page 3: Live10 Preset, page 4 and 5, experimental mode where I figure out stuff. You can't play rows of clips but I didn't use that feature, you can still use groups to cancel/play multiple clips. Look around with the controller setting to figure out my color meaning, usually blue=off, red=on. I wanted this to makeit smoother to be able to both trigger and toggle filters on and of, hence page 1(toggle) and 2(trigger), page 3(ableton template). Do you know why there is no such thing for Logic Pro X yet? I know about the video on youtoube in which a beta version is shown, but no one seems to have that template. Hi Rob , I just purchased Maschine Jam. How do you stop a single clip ? I've not managed to work it out. I tried Shift and clip but cannot seem to stop one clip. I know how to mute but wish to stop a clip. I can activate a single clip, but cannot deactivate it individually.
But I can I change kits in Maschine within Live without resetting my MIDI routing and use more than one Group on one MIDI channel? What if I want to Jam to manipulate Maschine VST in Live?
Ableton executives should be concerned. Machine cJam controls their software but Push can't control Maschine. Push2 price as well as Ableton Live software prices may drop.With Machine Jam you have a controller that gives satisfying results on controlling both softwares at by far the lowest price of them both.
Correct! But as an Ableton user, do you think many will actually want anything to do with this Jam/Maschine Studio in the first place? We have Ableton and Push. Either way this is only great for Ableton users as it will make Ableton innovate even more and they are already great at that. I've been loving the 9.7 beta and the new Push2 features.
The only reason why I would still get the Push over the Jam is because of the screens on the Push...and for me personally I prefer knobs to control parameters in Ableton instead of the touch strips. However if I really end up "needing" touch strips for whatever reason I can just get Lemur for my iPad and make my own custom controller that utilizes a similar function to touch strips on the Jam. Even though the Jam is significantly cheaper than the Push I don't think many Ableton users will go out and get the Jam just as an Ableton controller.

You are right, this is a toy compared to Push. And Maschine 2 software is like a freeware attempt at a DAW compared to a legit one like Ableton Live. But notice how in these conversations Akai isn't even being mentioned anymore. Akai is lost - even Novation is putting out better samplers/drum machines. If anyone in the industry needs to change, its Akai. They need to redo the MPC, Renaissance was a joke, and I'd like to see one that can actually compete with Maschine and Push.

Yeah same issue , it depends on scale but I would expect to be able to find C in the same relative position

you do this by pressing bowse and the track you want to deactivate

It comes as a package with the Maschine hardware. You should be able to find it on the NI website or software, if you haven't got a copy

There is no reason to get Jam anyway but Maschine doesn't allow for third party controllers because NI is aware of how bad they failed
