    Now this is a great review! What's the most important thing about a video game? Being able to play the fukkin thing! That's why I appreciate you going into detail about any control issues!

    about those trigger buttons:
    flat, level R2 L2 def a minus for ergonomic aspect, BUT
    1) 99% of our retrolibrary dont even use those specific buttons anyway.
    2) stock L1 R1 buttons have wider touch area compared to custom, slanted 3rd party buttons. And those flat stock L1 R1 are perfect for playing arcade fighting games.

      Yeah, I think I've played maybe 2 or 3 games on the 35xx that required significant use of the triggers.
      I didn't want to harp on it too much because I have the same problem with the MM+. The joints of my index fingers end up resting right on the edges of the R1 and L1 triggers and it just feels so awkward for me to press them.

    I would like one with a 240p screen. This one has 480p for 16 bit games. They are also too expencive. This RG35XX plays original Xbox, and PS1 games and that is what the two analogue sticks are for. 256GB of RAM DDR3. The free games Anbernic gives you are also junk like a fake Mario game. Anbernic has a flash drive that can fail, and this means it does not read games straight from the SD. Over time the flash drive will fail like a hard drive. I priced a RG350 with a 240p screen and max 32gb SD, and it's over a hundred dollars. I just wanted to put 8 bit games on it like Atari, Coleco, NES, Sega Master System on a 32gb card, and maybe Gameboy games.

    would be a total beast if it came with like 3500 battery and wifi then just add like 10-15$ more.

    I have 2 extra SD cards for minui and garlicOS but The minui and garlicOS battery indicators don't show the correct power consumption. I thought I still have 50% battery power left but suddenly my RG35XX died. I hope there will be a fix for that.

    • @otggaming3180
      @otggaming3180  Рік тому +1

      I have the same issue and can never really tell when the battery is almost dead. It would be nice if an upcoming fix could get a more accurate reading.

    I would like to play PSP... but I bought this anyways cause of the price. I think that is worth something aswell. Ypu get what you pay for. And the tinkerimg was worth it :) Not to much work either I wpuld say

      I agree. It blows my mind that this device plays 1000s of retro games for the same price (without inflation) that a single 16-bit game cost when I was growing up.

      Depending on what game you play. With Kariki OS (if i'm not wrong with the name, i kinda forgot), this can play PSP games. And NDS too. I tried it myself. I could play Patapon Trilogy just fine (with a little stutter but only on animatic cut scene). Played Harvest Moon : HoLV just fine. Loco roco could load but there's a problem with the graphics.
      I could load Pokemon, Digimon, and Rune Factory games for the NDS, but unable to play it due to the control mapping issue.
      Mind you, the OS is still on Beta stages and any trouble i stumble upon is to be expected and i did not complain. To note that the hardware itself is not that strong, and it's almost a third of a price of an emulation device that could run PSP games. So the only playable ones for 35xx is the one with low graphics or with not big of a map. Also a game that needed both the d-pad and analog both with different uses is quite unolayable unless you get around it.
      Like how i tweak the control for HM:holv. And for the display, the PSP games i pamyed become a bit frayed on the side and pixel-y.
      Most of the time everytime i tweak the OS or Emulator's settings it will crash and forces close of the game. But again, to be expected of a beta. But it did run games. And i looked forward to the OS future updates.
      If you still want to have RG35xx but also play PSP games, do look into it more. If not interested, better of buying modded PSVita or a stronger emulation device.

    Do all of the RG35XX come with expandable storage?

    • @otggaming3180
      @otggaming3180  8 місяців тому +1

      Yes, they do. It runs everything off an SD card, which can be swapped out for a larger or smaller one.

    Honestly how many games on Ps1 and below ever require the trigger/shoulder buttons? I just haven't encountered it

    • @otggaming3180
      @otggaming3180  Рік тому +1

      I think it's safe to assume not many games below the PS1 use the triggers. Some SNES games use them, but usually sparingly. However, quite a few of the PS1 games I've been playing recently use them. Just a few examples: Tomb Raider series uses them for sidestepping, and toggling walk/run movement. Also Ace Combat series uses the triggers for throttle/brake and also yaw controls in expert mode. How much they'll be used likely depends on the genres a person mostly plays.

    I think it’s a hard sell when a vita can do everything and more as far as emulation is concerned for ~40 more dollars. On top of allowing access to the entire vita library (insert vita has no games meme)

    • @dylanromeoanakrockeffllerm427
      @dylanromeoanakrockeffllerm427 11 місяців тому +2

      Not so sure about that. 35XX now is 30 dollars on temu and 50 dollar or less . Its available . Also it looks like gameboy and thats a selling point. Its pocketable too

    • @otggaming3180
      @otggaming3180  11 місяців тому +1

      Both good points. It also depends on what your use case is. If you're looking for one device to do it all and won't break the bank, something like the Vita, RG405M or RP3+ are all very good choices.
      I view the 35XX as more of a pocketable secondary device that I can quickly grab when I'm out and about or only have a few minutes to play. If it's going to be a longer gaming session, my primary option will be one of the bigger handhelds (in my personal case an RG505).

      What's it like emulating gb, gbc, gba, and snes on the vita? I watch some tutorials and it looks great but some looked like they were lagging and Golden Sun wouldn't even run at all.
