    Amazing, I think that sums up your channel. No Um's, Ah's or other fillers. You talk and move at about twice the speed of everyone else, but very easy to understand, without waffling. I don't know when, but once you get noticed you are going to be a big hit. I don't know what you do for a job, but if it's not sales or training think about a career change. I will be passing your channel onto friends. Please keep the videos coming. Thank You!

      Thank you, I really appreciate that!
      I think a lot of it is just doing my other channel for a long time and realizing that people won’t sit and watch if you don’t keep it moving 😂. This is actually my second channel, I loved freeze drying so much but it didn’t quite fit with my other stuff so I started this one!
      But yes, I am actually a “senior training specialist” at my day job, nice call!

    I rarely comment on most freeze dry channels (even when UA-cam puts them in front of me) but once in a while I'll watch and comment on one . . .
    We've been freeze drying for over six years.
    When freeze drying foods the machine is only removing the water - so when adding the water back in, the foods are being rehydrated. ( Concentrated orange juice is reconstituted) 😂
    And remember . . . the machine can never know when things are done . . . many types of foods can fool the machines like crazy.
    Infrared cameras can't tell you if something is totally dry, nor can Infrared thermometers, nor any type of moisture meter - especially not the wood moisture meters that a lot of freeze drying people try to tell others to use. There are going to be many very unhappy people a few years from now when they open their freeze dried food containers and find out it wasn't dry after all.
    We have already heard this from quite a few people.
    The Only way we have found that is allways sure is to do weight checks . . . if the food is still losing weight ( even a gram) it is Not dry.
    Keep on freeze drying and having Fun. But remember - it's addictive. 🙂

    The available dividers are great for this type of food. Makes for even portions and easier bagging

    I’d suggest maybe not loading the trays quite as much. Know the capacity of your freeze dryer and don’t go over it. As the ice gets thicker on the wall of your freeze dryer, that ice on the surface is not as cold as the ice closer to the metal walls. The freeze dryer is more efficient the colder the ice is. I once had a batch of food that I overloaded and the freeze dryer seemed like it was stuck. So I took the trays out, stored in freezer, defrosted the freeze dryer, put the trays back in and the food was finished very quickly.

    What About like Hamburgers Helper left overs??
    And Pizzas? Sorry for Questions

    • @WhitepepperFarm
      @WhitepepperFarm  6 місяців тому +2

      No need to apologize!
      Hamburger helper would be super easy!
      With pizza the texture would change a bit but if you steamed it rather than just add water to it, it would probably rehydrate well enough to still be good! Bread like that is a little tough to get right. Biscuits and gravy do great though, weirdly enough!

    Maybe a flat egg turner to smooth eggs flat so you wouldn’t have sharp edges to punch thru your Mylar bag
    How many trays you have out of 50 lbs?
    God bless 🙏🙏🙏

      That’s not a terrible idea at all!
      We ended up filling 10 of the medium trays but we ate a lot for dinner, kept some to eat the next couple days, and still had about 7 potatoes left in the bag to cook that week so we didn’t freeze dry the entire 50lbs. Definitely gave us a ton of mashed potatoes to work with over the winter though, we used some just the other day!

    • @WhitepepperFarm
      @WhitepepperFarm  2 місяці тому +1

      Investment is the biggest downside. If you try doing your own meals not following a recipe you’ll need to experiment with different rehydration techniques and rates, but thats half the fun! But there’s tons of videos of really good recipes people have already made!

    There is more pesticide in vegetable skins than in the flesh. Peeling is recommended.

    Never use an electric beater on potatoes. It turns them into wallpaper paste, bringing out all the starch and ruining the potato texture.
