Jade is a beautiful flyer maybe she just need a stronger back spot and or base.

She has Michealeddie as a base. She hasn’t flown in a long time because she got bigger and she’s just better as a base. It’s easier to lift smaller girls than bigger, those are just the facts. It doesn’t matter if they’re not “as good at holding their weight” it’s easier to lift a 90 pound girl than a 130 pound base just because she has more muscles. Its easier to switch a flyer than a whole pod.
Team Lining Not only that but everybody already has their group. They can’t just switch the groups it’ll just cause more issues because while they’re already struggling to find people.

@@teamlining7685 it really isn’t. Some of my flyers are like 90-100 pounds and they feel heavier when they don’t lift up their own weights it not because she bigger it all in who can pull their weight.
Orbi did a great job at explaining the Jade and flying situation. She is a amazing flyer but it is clear that her bases are struggling to keep her in the air.

@@lemonheadkt I think it's mainly the side base who's struggling. In the part where they actually showed the whole group in the stunt her side went down causing Jades other leg to buckle.

@@mrpeanut5724 okay? They're used to that which means they can get used to having a heavier flyer as well. It's not just about her, they also need to work on strength. If you recall, there have even been some boys on these teams who were struggling to stunt girls half her size, so it's also a matter of them working to handle what they've been given and taking an active part in trying to make it work as a team rather than just saying she's too heavy and giving up.

Jay Johnson That’s not also how it works. It could also be the fact that she doesn’t have body control. I’ve had heavier flyers before and it it helps when the flyer knows how to control her body and doesn’t feel like deadweight.
Cali is very vapid when it comes to their flyers. They'd put a prepubescent 12 year old on their team before someone older/bigger than 90 lbs in the air
Regarding the Jade situation I think it's crucial to look at the whole team. Sure, she is a beautiful flyer, with beautiful lines and a lot of talent, and if she had under her the 3 best bases on the team she would easily pull it off. This being said when you have a team you have to make sure the strengths are well balanced. I think Orby explained it perfectly: if you have girls who are TINY and with the same flexibility who hit where she falls it is heartbreaking but it makes sense to switch her up.
I base with a girl who's an EXCELLENT flyer but she can't fly on my team because we have tiny tiny girls who, through no fault of their own, can't do anything but fly. And that's okay. She will fly in pyramid, and she can fly on her own time. Coaches make decisions for the good of the team.
I think of Jade as a very versatile and multi talented athlete. She can base, she can fly, she can tumble. And that's an incredible athlete to have on a team. I am very inspired by her and I hope more than anything that she will be PROUD of her accomplishments this season. Even if she doesn't fly as much as she would like to.

It’s just heartbreaking though because she’s so talented and she’s been working so hard and I just wish that more teams could have flyers that have stronger builds because strong truly is so beautiful. I wish that the all tiny flyers trend would stop.

Jade is a beautiful flyer but if there are no bases to support her then it’s not fair for the bases or her to be struggling for the routines. It’s called balance.

I have based flyers that weighed 150 and some that weighed 90 and if they know how to hold their weight and be tight the one that weighs more feels lighter.
I don’t think Jade is the problem. With bigger flyers you need bigger and stronger bases. I think they’re having trouble holding her up.

So the bases need to beef up.
I'm really surprised by all the comments saying that the bases need to just strengthen and bulk up/become more muscular. People are saying that Jade has a beautiful body and she shouldn't change her body type and shouldn't be replaced, but then also implying that the bases need to bulk up and change their body type or be replaced. Don't get me wrong! I'm not implying that Jade should change or be replaced, but the hypocrisy on here about "love your body type" and "people shouldn't have to change" being used for one person and not others is just crazy to me.
I definitely think there is nothing wrong with Jade's body type. She's just very muscular and if she was compared to anyone else besides other flyers, the show (and we as the audience) probably wouldn't be having this discussion about weight.
Let's also be real here! If they have to choose between changing 1 member compared to 2 or 3, they're going to pick the 1 person so they don't have to rearrange more people. Love it or hate it, they're going to do what disrupts the group the least.

They're not saying the bases need to change their body type to be more bulk they're saying switch the bases round to someone more bulk and give the one jade's bases to someone lighter so it's balanced
There's a difference between changing your body and losing a bunch of weight just to weigh less and stay in the air, than being stronger but healthy to be the best base you can. One is a healthy choice and one isn't. Getting stronger over the years didn't change my body type, just improved my body overall. Now it can do more for me
@@samanthaa7921 I definitely get what you're saying, but it goes back to my point about disrupting the stunt groups. We've seen time and time again on this show that rearranging 2 or more members within stunt groups is usually not ideal for the stunt groups or the formations among the time as a whole.
@@miafine2584 I honestly don't think most people in the discussions are making these comments because of any type of concern for the team members' health. I think people are just tired of people with "bigger" body types being excluded from things they wish to do because of their weight. This is definitely a fair point, but the comments seem to be less concerned about the health of the bases and more the lack of fairness of the situation for the flyer. People seem to be suggesting that the bases should change their body or be replaced rather than switching around bases.

Jade low key is kinda big for a flyer tbh (not big in real life but from a cheer standpoint she is) but she is a great flyer she just needs stronger bases.

She has a beautiful body and beautiful lines, and of course her bases can always become stronger, but if there are tinier flyers, it’s only makes sense to just place them in. Nonetheless it doesn’t take away from Jade’s talents! She is absolutely amazing in the air or anywhere for that!

the muscular flyer part really got me. it was the sweetest thing ever! this year i am not flying because of my size. Last year and all the years before that i flew. I am not big by any means but i am short and muscular. and this year there are girls on my team who are so so tiny. and i feel like the cheer world is so weird and cruel about the size of flyers and it makes me so sad because there are a lot of absolutely beautiful and muscular flyers and i feel like people don't like them because they aren't 75 pounds and super small. i love jade and her work ethic and i feel like more people need to realize that it isn't just size that puts flyers in the air, it's their lines and their ability to be tight and sharp!
Tbh Jade is a good flyer but I can see where her bases are coming from because my flyer is the tallest and heaviest flyer on the team and it get frustrating to hold a flyer like that but like Jade works super hard so she deserves to fly. But like her bases need to get stronger to and not complain and give faces when she falls

I felt this. I personally flew from the age of 4 all the way to 15 years old! It was heart breaking when I got to varsity and was pushed down to the floor bc they had smaller flyers they could pull up.I had to learn a completely new position and had no upper arm strength but I was willing to learn to better the team! I never dropped a stunt at competition and my team placed 8th and 4th in the nation at nationals both years I was on the team! It sucks when you want to be the pretty flyer up in the air with all eyes on you but it comes down to the bases in the end. If they can't hold you up, there is nothing you could do. Yes they could get stronger bases but if thats not what they have then you just need to take one for the team sometimes. It does not mean you are fat it does not mean you are bad! It fluctuates by year and you are beautiful girl don't worry ❤️

She isn't fat at ALL, her stomach is flat. She is just 100% solid muscle, and muscle weighs more than fat. Flying itself takes strength, but that much muscle is difficult for bases to lift, especially with all the transitions and sequences.
Jade just needs stronger bases and a stronger back. There’s nothing wrong with her at all
I really hope they keep Jade flying. She's not exactly obese, and she's working hard. I worry if they take her down she's going to end up with an eating disorder. Get her stronger bases!

@Orion Stardust there's a big difference between telling someone they've unfortunately grown too tall and telling someone you think they're fat.
@@sianchild if those are the strongest bases they have and or they already have all the bases in groups that work it isn’t that easy, the easiest and best solution is to get another flyer not homage the entire group.

I think he’s probably just frustrated :( he’s used to his group with no problems so he was probably hoping this year would be the same which I think is pretty understandable. It’s probably not Jade herself.

As some one who was a base my entire time as a cheerleader, I can say JUST CAUSE SOMEONE IS LITTLE DONT MEAN THEY ARE A FLYER. There are some thick girls out her, who are so much better but coaches don’t entertain the idea.

a lot of flyers, such as myself, understand exactly where jade is coming from and the position she’s in. muscle weighs more than fat. she’s SO MUSCULAR. i have a similar body type and am one of the more muscular flyers on my previous and current team. she’s pushing herself to become better and fighting for her stop and i have SO MUCH RESPECT FOR HER. I only did high school cheer for a year because I decided to focus on dance and acrobatics/circus arts afterwards (and school, obviously), but I really had a ridiculous amount of fun during that one year. Being part of a team, going through tough as well as awesome times together is a great way to really bond with others and find amazing new friends.
i have been doing cheer for 10 years and every year for the past 5 i have been saying im going to quit my point is ITS ADDICTING but it is so much fun the parctices are tough and hard to get through but its worth it
