- ET's Katie Krause sits down with 'Cheer' stars Lexi, Jerry and Gabi as they explain how many years they can compete at Navarro and reveal what they hope to do next! 'Cheer' is currently streaming on Netflix.

I know i feel like she tired of cheerleading. She's been all cheerleading for most of her life. And the documentary showed how draining her life can be. Like her dad said she has defitentely left a mark in Cheer history that she will be okay if she decides to leave cheerlading for good. I think being a stunt double will be fun for her.

Yes! Exactly what I was thinking. Maybe Netflix will make season 2 with 12 episodes. And they can maybe bounce back and forth between the two. ESPECIALLY because they are rivals, too.

Although i would like to see Gabi with the team again I like seeing Gabi at Top Gun she’s been there since she was little. Who knows maybe she’ll go to another good college team to try it out too
Larry Chavez yeah I liked her with Smoed in fact I think back then on her first season there is when that team was at its finest tbh i watched her on that UA-cam show and i also liked her with Gymtyme

Isabella O’Brien yeah like don’t get me wrong smoed is still a great team to be apart of today and California Allstars is a great program but idk I feel like smoed was more at its prime back then and it was that specific team that really help get more of the recognition that even have

My prediction is that they're currently filming a season 2 and he's come back to do that. I think Gabi's role is going to be to come back and save the day when they need someone for Daytona.

Netflix should do season 2 with Navarro (maybe ft. some trinity valley rivalry) until the og faves graduate and then do season 3 following Top Gun.
So the series was filmed for the 2019 competition and its seems like they are not filming now, and this years Daytona is coming up, already so the earliest they would film a new season would be next school year (2020-2021) and so most of the "og faves" will already be long gone since its only a 2 year college (3 max), and a lot of the people they focused on were already in their final year, the rest most would be finishing THIS year. If they did another season with Navarro almost all of the team would be different, with MAYBE a few who stayed for 3 years and had just started the team during season 1.

Then i'm honestly advocating for filming Top Gun or something like that (similar to what awesomenesstv did with smoed ) because i don't think the huge mainstream audience, who r not that big into cheerleading in general will stick around and keep watching navarro 💁🏻 we need to show em even bigger and wilder ish for the wow factor ✨🗣 to keep the momentum and make cheer mainstream!!
i love that show- it’s so good, and cheering myself, it gives people who don’t cheer a understanding of how difficult the sport really is

BRenantube If and when Jennifer Lawrence do another action movie Gabi could be her stunt double. I know the Moneymaker’s are her stunt doubles, but Gabi looks more like Jen than the Moneymaker sisters so it wouldn’t be much of a stretch visually.

I loved the documentary, I was just surprised when they asked people from the town if they knew about how amazing the cheerleaders were & they had no idea! I just thought it was shocking. They’re awesome & you’d think they’d be a huge deal to the town of Corsicana. I apologize if you took it the wrong way. But TBH, what does “they work really hard to win” have anything to do with my comment? It really makes no sense at all

Since the junior college division is so small, why can’t they just compete in the university division?
7.5M views you can compete up to 5 years total in college. They can only compete for Nc up to 3 years but they can transfer and finish out the rest of their eligibility if they so choose
jrock7598 yea I know. I meant why can’t junior colleges like Navarro just compete in the regular university division since the JC division is so small (it’s only like 2-3 schools max). With only 1-2 other competitors, it’s easier to keep winning.
7.5M views I just think it’s just technically not fair because the structure is so different. Yes the 2 current ones are competitive with the 4 years but I still think the set up of a 4 year is just too different.
7.5M views it depends on the division of the school. Just like football that can only compete in division 1 or 2, its the same way for nationals. So in order for the team to compete in a higher division, the entire school’s division would need to move up
Im curious how they compare to other colleges, like they won Daytona, but it's not like they won ALL of Daytona, they just won their division. I feel like they show kind of skewed some information to make them kind of seem like underdogs, like they talked about how they didn't have the same amount of time with their team like other schools because they were only a junior college and so they only had them for about 2-3 years max. So yeah if you are competing against ALL the schools, that is a disadvantage, but if you are only up against junior colleges, then its not a disadvantage because ALL the school you compete against have that same setup.
So I am just curious how they stand up to like the Division 1 schools. On one had you would think that a division 1 school is probably better, because they do have their team for up to 4 years if not more, and its division 1, so it should be top level in sports compared to lower divisions. But also since its Divison 1, you usually re talking about more prominent universities, which means more expensive universities, and if you go to somewhere like on of those schools its probably for your education. You just would probably naturally end up putting your education before your athletics, especially since there is not after in cheerleading, like a great college basketball player may very well go to a Division 1 school and have their main focus be basketball, because they have scholarships and the goal is ultimately you want to probably get drafted (I mean there are a lot of big division 1 universities that graduate a VERY small percentage of their basketball/football players).
Now Navarro, its a junior college, so that doesn't mean you are not going for your education, but it's just not exactly a high-level prestigious education. So with someone like Lexi, she doesn't seem like someone who would have planned to go to college if it were purely for her education, she is there to cheer. So when you have a school Navarro where you can have athletes who are there to mainly (if not only) be athletes, you could potentially have a very good set up to have a top-level team because you have a team of people who just want to cheer and have that be there #1 commitment.
So im just really curious how they stack up against other teams, are they A top cheer team, or are they ONLY a top cheer team out of JUNIOR colleges.

Gabbi looks a lot like Jennifer Lawrence and would be the perfect stunt double for her.
stunt doubles don't really need to even look like who they are a double for since they just use CGI over the faces anyway, usually its more so general proportions and height, IF even that, there are plenty of stunt doubles who are men who are a stunt double for a woman. Her face can maybe look a little like Jennifer Lawrence but that wouldn't matter much at all, either you dont see their face in the stunt, or you do and it gets covered.

I think what they meant is you get your associates degree from navarro after 2 or 3 years and then usually they go on to a university to complete their bachelor's.

I feel like the show kind of skewed some information. Like I'm not familiar with the cheerleading world, and so when they were talking about Daytona and competition, I didn't think they were just talking about their DIVISION. But I was a swimmer in high school and so I know from that, even when we went to states even within our state championship, you can get first in an event...and then like 3-4 other people also get first because there are multiple sections/divisions. So yeah you are 1st but you are not necessarily #1 in the sate for that event, because someone from another section/division who got first in that event too could have a faster time. I say all this because when I was looking into the Daytona competition, they have multiple divisions, and throughout the series, with Navarro, I felt that they were portraying Navarro as THE #1 cheer school, and they might be IDK, but they also are not even competing against other universities/colleges, they only compete against JUNIOR colleges. In the series they make it seem like Navarro is at a disadvantage to win because they are only a junior so they only have their cheerleaders for 2-3 years, but they are at the same disadvantage as the other schools they compete against since they all compete in the Junior college division....so that's not a disadvantage. So now I'm curious how Navarro actually compares to other universities and colleges that compete for on like a division 1 school. Are they comparable? better? much lower? I mean Gabi seems to be pretty notable in the cheer world and pretty good, so since she went there maybe that's a sign that for cheerleading they are one of the best (if not the best) schools for it. I mean I guess they also have it in their favor being a junior college, a lot of the cheerleaders are there to cheer, not necessarily for their education, if you are someone going to a top academic school and you cheerlead, ultimately you are probably going to put your education first because it probably cost a lot to attend where you do, cheerleading has a limit of college life span so its not like you are going to get drafted from it like with basketball or football, and so you are ultimately not dedicated as much time wise. So im just really curious where they rank among ALL the schools

Preston Lunsford she was at a different school and she told her parents that she missed Navarro. Her parents reached out to Monica and Monica let her back on the team. She was never kicked out of the school just off the cheer team

Navarro is a community college - most people go there for 2 years and then to a 4-year university for 2 or 3 more years. Other people who choose to go straight to a 4-year university typically spend 4-5 years finishing a degree. These are probably the two most popular routes which is likely why the rule became 5 years max to compete. Hope that helps :)

Chris Stephens , I noticed that too. Some of the other students had really serious difficulties to overcome such as sexual abuse, a parent dying, or a parent being in jail. Gabby's sob story was that someone was mean to her on social media. It was ridiculous.
