I got one used with an added neck humbucker and a 3 way switch added, I put an arcade button in the control plate as a killswitch and have a funky looking pickguard, absolutely love this thing now
I replaced the tone with a killswitch and moved the volume down apparently it’s been there for a year but the restock wasn’t built as well as mine I think bolt ons are best if you have frets just need a heel like this that doesn’t get in the way I might replace the neck or refret with gold not sure about stainless since they wear strings out more including matching material strings
I recently picked up a Sonic Esquire in white and now consider it one of the best deals on the market. It was very playable out of the box and needed little touchup to the frets. I've modded it with a Seymour Duncan JB along with a push-pull volume for coil splitting, which has made the Sonic much more versatile. Why the folks in the factory haven't added a push-pull coil split function is a mystery to me! In any event, the Sonic Esquire is a fine guitar for the price point and I'll have no problem gigging with it. Highly recommended.
How's the factory action? I feel like alot of these budget guitars struggle with that
Thinking to get one just for the body color.
Squier Esquire.....sounds good......always loved these single P/U simple guitars. IMO Squier gives great build quality and excellent VFM allowing one to own all the 'shapes' without spending a fortune.....and providing a basis for upgrade if desired......👍
This sounds amazing
About to get one, been eyeing this for a minute. Trying to make some shoegaze lol
If you want to darken that laurel, get Fiebing's leather dye, 3 parts brown, 1 part black. If you get a really grainy piece, you could fill the grain with aqua coat. Idk, seems like the kind of fun 'why not' thing on a cheap guitar like this. It's such a bad ass looking guitar as it is but I'd like the neck to match the pickguard a bit more. But anyone can dye it at least in a few seconds. Just putting it out there because I always see people trying to darken wood with lemon oil, and that does very little.
These Sonic models are perfect guitars once you get the pickup you want, and any other little thing, maybe better saddles to put a finishing touch on the tone. They're also lighter than average because they're thinner bodies, and the poplar may be inherently lighter than alder, which I always disliked because it produces too many heavy guitars and it doesn't have any special tone properties over something like poplar or basswood.
Which guitar is better option for a beginner (and small hands)? Squier Sonic Esquire H or Fender Squier Mini Stratocaster?
Mini Strats are basically just toys, so go for something in the Sonic or Affinity range. Hand size is irrelevant unless you're a prepubescent child, so don't let that be a determining factor in your guitar purchase.
@@RockandrollNegro thanks
You can watch videos of little kids shredding on full sized guitar. You don't need to buy a mini if you have small hands
I hope that tone knob works considering you only have one pickup
yes, that is indeed how single pickup guitars operate. good job.
@@kirbyhamill3534Seems like your an angry unhappy person who totally missed the point of my comment. Angry and dumb are a bad combination. I wish you the best on your miserable journey.
What do you suggest this one or the 120 dollars stratocaster?
Both are good but Strat with three pickups will be more versatile
So you have reviewed Sonic Telecaster AND Sonic Squire H now... Any preference?
Tough choice, both are good! The Telecaster is a bit more versatile though
Squier
Hi, how many years you play Guitar
Did you change the pickup? The ones I see don’t have the screws
Hey! I didn't change anything
True I have mine infront of me and it doesn’t. I’m swapping it out anyway
Which one to pick as a beginner ? Sonic tele or the esquire?
Both are great! Tele is a bit more versatile so I think I'd choose that
@@bestguitarsnow thank you , will go for tele then
"Squier?"
"No, Esquire!"
edit: serious question: could this take a Gibson humbucker? I always thought the string spacing was different.
can i replace the humbucker with an active emg humbucker and have enough space for the battery?
Yes … battery under the pickguard in the neck pickup slot that is routed for a humbucker
