- The Frenchies win by simply building more maginot lines all throughout France. Still a neat game, but it really needs a little something extra to keep my attention.

Who knew that the only thing French had to do to win the war is to make a Maginot square instead.
no flanking needed
Why not do one better, the maginot cube
Who would have guessed that four walls all connected would prevent people from going around?
The Maginot Decagon is truly the ultimate offensive formation.
@@mannofdober873 the maginot Tessaract, attack your enemy from the fourth dimension as well as the conventional third!
Australia was federated by this point, same thing with Canada. Notice how Newfoundland & Labrador are lit up but the rest of Canada isn't
Big brain also please put down the gun mr. maple tree
Um, wasn't federation in 1901?
I believe you mean they were domains of Britain rather than direct colonies, i.e. Labrador, Sudan
@Mikê'e Stark India wasnt a dominion till after the war
@Mikê'e Stark What is more worrying

That is correct
YEEESS!
imagine getting attacked by france and they suddenly build an entire fucking maginot line
Now i wonder why france not build maginot line around they country
@@arifwibisana2723 for what I have read. They didn't because the line continue in Belgium. But because Belgium denied the allies guarantee to not anger Adolf Hitler in 1938 the line of defence got compromise. So the Germans exploit this by sending paratrooper to take control of the forts before invading Belgium so the defend line got breach
@@gabrielmora5092 now that make sense thanks
@@arifwibisana2723 you welcome
@@gabrielmora5092 I know this is extremely late bugpt the Germans also used the Ardennes forest with the French thought was impenetrable so they held back from creating bunkers and lines. The Germans used this to blitzkrieg through and around the magi it line as well
"I'm an allied soldier so it's obviously a Tiger."
Rimmy stating straight facts there.
Not far from reality, actually
”The Maginot line would be great if the troops would stop abandoning it”
~Charles de Gaulle, 1940, probably.
The maginot line did it's job.
Generals on the other end...
The germans penetrate the Ardennes not the maginot line
Actually the Maginot line went from the Canal to the Mediterranean, it was just weaker in the north
Fight continuate after 17/06 from north to south in maginot line so it's historical false
@@yksisolttu The line did not extend to the channel, the weaker fortifications in the north are not considered part of the Maginot Line. The whole reason the Maginot Line has it's own name and everyone knows what it is is because it refers to the exceptionally heavily fortified border area and not the other far less significant defenses which aren't worthy of note.
"That Flak Gun is actively attempting to murder me!" Yeah, they kinda do that.
YAY WAR CRIMES :D *he was parachuting, last I checked, shooting at parachuters is kinda war crime* atleast today it is lol.
@@Laughing_Dragon Oh it was back then as well. On the western front it was followed as well for the most part, owing to the fact that, if a german plane fired at a parachuting pilot, every allied plane would try to kill them and them exclusively until they were dead. The russians, on the other hand, decided that if the germans do it they will as well.
Sorry I was aiming for the plain behind him
Kieran Vax'iliaN not a war crime as it was a paratrooper coming to cause harm. It’s a war crime to shoot a parachuting pilot as they are no longer a combatant
@@Laughing_Dragon I mean, that was basically why it's illegal. It happened back then and we decided that it's just unsporting to do that.

"The maginot line would be good if the troops didn't leave it"
It's like the real deal!
Except that wasn't how the Maginot Line fell. In fact, Germany was unsuccessful in defeating the Maginot Line even _after_ encircling it and cutting it off from the rest of France. The only reason it fell was due to the French government's choice to surrender.
@@bluntcabbage6042 The Maginot line was also designed with an intentional hole in its defense to lure a German assault into it, where their advance could be halted by reserve forces until France could fully mobilize. The problem with this strategy was that Germany's advances with tanks and the ingenuity of paratroopers allowed them to widen this hole enough that the reserves were overwhelmed. The improvements to tanks let them get through a forest that was regarded as impassable to an invasion force, while paratroopers were critical to taking over a particular Belgian fort. Thus the trap failed and it was a straight shot to Paris after that.
Hey Rimmy, for your complaint 00:37, at that point in time Australia was a sovereign state and not a colony. Australia gained sovereign status after World War 1 under the Statute of Westminster. Search up the Balfour Declaration of 1926. The Queen is still our Head of State Rimmy, but we're legally a sovereign nation that is separate from the United Kingdom.

10:22 fun fact it is against the Geneva convention to kill a paratrooper with a flak gun
1:50
There is a game like that actually called nuclear dawn
It's a PvP online game where there are two teams
And each team has a commander who plays the game like an RTS, placing buildings and activating abilities to send support
Whilst also pinging and flagging areas
But all the soldiers are actual players
So commanders like *place capture ping on the point*
He has to wait for his actual team to respond and go to the ping of their own accord
Can be frustrating but it is interesting
The Neubaufahrzeug is a "heavy tank" the tank is just the wurst, armor is bad, gun is bad, and it's unnecesarily big
here's a video talking about it: ua-cam.com/video/xgbNUl7TDj4/v-deo.html

6:13 That is the fastest Churchill in existence. Well over double the speed.
Churchills were the tank equivalent of an *actual* tortoise.
I'd say this game is historically accurate but the panthers are basically pz 4s, which dont exist, only as officer vehicles.
WHY? It's my one problem with this game. Tho france is my favorite because their artillery is op.
Beginning: "That flak gun is trying to kill me!"
Me: Hey thats a war crime
0:50, Thing is that by then You lot, Canada and South Africa had Dominion status, that could be why you and them are left off, but Newfoundland for some reason isn't.
6:42
Rimmy the Neubaufahrzeug was Germany's first attempt to create a heavy tank. heavy and slow they were not considered a success so only five prototypes were made mainly used for propaganda but three of them took part in the battle of Norway
Coming from 100 hours of experience on this game. Put an aa cannon in an open field and you can pretty much win any engagement. Those things need a nerf badly
2:38 Actually there is a turn-based system of what you asked for. It is the Conquest mode of Ravenfield.
I don't think there are any Renault FTs in Monster Girl Island: Prologue but you can ride a dire wolf
Canada doesn't light up with the British colonies either (Newfoundland wasn't part of Canada until after WWII). Might have to do with political status/level of independence at the time.
Australia isn’t highlighted as British territory because it’s not British territory; there is no ruler over the outback, only human survivors
Ah yes, I always knew that Paris was famous for being nothing but a few farmhouses & a factory. 8:55

0:35 I think the reason Australia/Canada/NZ aren't lit up when you select the UK is that those were basically independent countries by that point, they just had a lot of ties to the UK still through the Commonwealth. The other colonies were directly ruled territory of Britain, and the Raj had no autonomy to speak of.

bruh
0:37, maybe because Japan took over most of the colonies? Maybe? IDK just a guess. The British campaign starts in 1942, when Japan already entered the war and got several swift victories in the area, ejecting the British from the Pacific.
So, this is what would've happened if France went the "Extend the Maginot" focus
The closest game I can think o,f that you described, is called "Battalion Wars" and it's one of my favorite RTS's on the Gamecube (and Wii)

You are spot on, it has potential for real, reminds me kind of assault squad 2, but it’s got that “le epic goofy simulator” vibe
they added more stuff, you can set up battle plans like flanking, charging, controlling where your arties shoot, etc
This game would've been really popular if it didn't look, and had the history and namesake of all the silly games before it.

Nobody:
The soldiers holding the point: Didn't know we were getting "special" forces
Dead brain design: make different factions easily distinguishably by making them be different colors. Maybe even base the faction colors on the historical color schemes of those actual factions.
*GALAXY BRAIN DESIGN:* EVERYBODY IS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT SHADES OF *BLUE.*
I think men of war assault squad is the RTS you just designed. Better yet men of war assault squad 2.
The Germans can't come through Belgium... if WE do it first!
I like how the Maginot Line's big twin-cannons are the 4.5 inch Mk2 Mounts used by the Royal Navy. You typically see them on the Illustrious-Class carriers; HMS Renown, Valiant, and Queen Elizabeth after their refits; The Implacable-Class Carriers; HMS Savage; and HMS Indomitable.
The map this game uses is so inaccurate I want to scream. GREENLAND IS NOT THAT HUGE AND AFRICA IS MUCH MUCH BIGGER THAN HOW IT LOOKS HERE. also Canada is just a mess honestly. And Russia, even with the Soviet Union, isn't as large as it is shown here
Rimmy you should do more of this and use the slo mo more
Also you should play tabs it is both fun and funny and there are some cool units and a lot of campaign as well as some tip top mods
Kangaroo isn't stuart tank with no top, it is a ram(M3 Lee hull with Canadian top) with turret removed
0:02 best cut screams
Canadian Ram Tanks were licenced M3s via their Ford plant. Actually the Canucks built most of the UK AFV output from their bomber-proof factories, and the same with shit like the Flower Class corvettes. They don't get enough credit for that. I do think that the Kangaroo was indeed an ANZAC adaptation because universal carriers were a bit shit and the Ram was sort of surplus to requirements with lend-lease M3 Grants.
Hey Rimmy! If you're looking for an RTS where you can command your units but also become them, I'd suggest taking a look at Executive Assault 1/2. The basic premise of the game is exactly what you mentioned!
If you would like to see the allies take on a multi turreted tank (like that weird kraut on in the video) look up the British Independent tank and Russia's SMK and T35
They are, in Australian terms, *ABSALUTE FAKN UNITS*
Want a cool WWII real time tactics game? Try Blitzkrieg, Sudden Strike, Blitzkrieg 2 or Stalingrad. If you want a very good RTS with a nice story instead, try R.U.S.E..
Why isn't Australia and NZ coloured for the UK? Same reason why Canada and South Africa aren't. They were defacto independent from 1932 (Statute of Westminster) onward. Whereas the rest of the empire was ruled from London.
The nebafasug also called Neubaufahrzeug by people who dont have their tongue riped apart is an early german tank (probably developed in russia as a part of the russian-german exchange program between 1920 and 39)
The Name Neubaufahrzeug is a cover name (just like the term "tank") to hide its real purpose and the breaching of the versailles treaty
