I've watched countless hours of Magnus playing and he's definitely blown off some stress today :-) I'd like to see him pull a Joe Rogan and bust out the weed !!
At 56:39 Carlsen missed 1...Rxa5 2. Rxa5 Rxd4+ 3. Kxd4 Bxa5. The funny thing is, I only saw that after Magnus put his Bishop on d2, and I thought "ooh, that's sneaky". But then the dude fell for it, and Magnus didn't play the line! I think there was just too much liquor swishing around up in his brain and he forgot the whole thing. Lol.
Your line has the same goal what Magnus played, but the diference is that he wanted to keep the piece... what he did was better... with your lineall the pieces are gone and Magnus has 1 pawn more but with bishops in diferent colors it can be a draw.. Magnus saw what you said but he wanted to keep the piece because he has more attack and tricks doing that.. sorry for my english

Carlsen has achieved everything there is to achieve in chess but - at the risk of being a little bit controversial - maybe the one thing missing from his résumé is that there is as yet no game that people refer to as "Carlsen's Immortal". I know he has played many beautiful games and strategic masterpieces - but still. Consider for example Dubov vs Svane 2019. Has Carlsen produced anything comparable?
