about 5 years ago I enjoyed seeing you win a weekly speed tournament at Hotel Herrity in downtown Bangkok. no surprise there but I was surprised at how tall you are! best wishes.
I didn't know this guy before watching this, WOW! this guy's dry wit had me smiling and laughing all the way through it. Such a funny guy, right on my wavelength too!
Hi Jan! What a surprise finding you on Lichess! So, is this part of Danny-doing-damage as we already have come used to, or just a one of? Naroditsky, Caruana, and Hess, of all people, instead of the 2P&J dreamteam, what has the world come to? Anyway, welcome to the last refuge...
@@LichessDotOrg First things frist: It's great that you set up this show! My personal view: I miss John's positive attitude towards his audience and towards chess. With Jan, the ideal of a rebellious attitude resonates, coupled with flirty sarcasm. That goes down very well with young people and is generally labeled as cool. But that's a bit overused for me. Added to this are the lachrymosity and the coquetry. On his own shows, he also flirts with the fact that he much prefers to talk about other things, prefers not to calculate and so on. I'd rather watch Anish. Especially if you grew up in Germany and have followed Gustafsson's career, you already know the whole thing well enough. I liked John's attitude and also the experience he brought as a coach. Jan is adored by his followers but to be honest it didn't reach me and I tuned out at 1:08:18.
Jan I miss your commentary man. The best, imagine being next to Peter Svidler and making it more than a self deprecating fest. Plus that child Tania, she has no clue how annoying she is.
I've missed jan's humor so much.
Definitely smth to look forward to :)
Not enough to learn German apparantly, shame!

54:50 blunder on the move 28 😂
Yay - my favorite chess streamer on my favorite YT show 🥰
Jan makes the most cheerful and cozy streams, not to mention his superb playing level! Very enjoyable and somehow even calming! 10/10!
Blundersonmove 28 blunders on move 28, Slippery Guy was slippery, such excellent game-name correspondence.
I played against a guy who's name was "Hangs_Mate_in_1." You'll never guess what happened
Hi jan! It is nice to see you here 👍
Jan’s banter blitzes got me into chess back in the day

One of Magnus Carlsen's longtime trainers for world championships. He was the public face of chess24 for years
Nice, banterblitz is back
This guy reminds of a really cool chess player called Radio Jan, but Jan seems a little bit more humble.

153:19 Rosen trophy!
Whether you pronounce it warm or worm depends largely upon which of those two words you're uttering.
Ding is the world champion despite not qualifying for the Candidates nor winning the Candidates. Pretty crazy story indeed!
Your vast basketball knowledge is impressive
Quite a surprise!
Hope you enjoyed the surprise! :)

Why am I just finding this? How does the algorithm not know to flash Jan if he is online, I wish their was a prioritization button.
Jan's back! Yippee!!
Ridiculous to hear Jan complaining that he is so old, when he really is just lazier than most of us.
Master of forking? Your the forking legend:)!
"No, your English is amazing! I can't believe you're German-your accent is not that bad." 4:00

Come on Jan: Need more English commentary. Miss your attempts at humor!
German man talking about his struggle this doesn't bode well
