- Male Lions Announcing Their Presence in the Kruger National Park South Africa.
In this video we saw 3 of the 5 Trichardt males who have pushed further north of their regular territory in an attempt to take over the Shishangaan lion pride. The male with the Mohawk mane was very vocal, roaring making the neighbouring coalitions aware of their presence.
The Trichardts have been putting pressure on the Maputo and Kumana male who are the pride males of the Shishangaan pride. The Maputo male has some signs of injuries believed to be from a confrontation with the Trichardt males. We had seen the Maputo mating a few days after this sighting supporting a bit of a limp and a few wounds but seems to be recovering well now. The presence of the trichardt males has got the attention of the Southern pride males, three of the males have been patrolling and roaring near N’wanetsi picnic spot. The southern pride lionesses and cubs have been spotted along the H6 regularly further west of the picnic spot avoiding the potential conflict.
Two of the trichardt males haven’t been seen recently but speaking to one of the rangers he said he has seen two males with lionesses and cubs further south, so we are hopeful it is the other two trichardt males.
The trichardt male at the back in this sighting picked up a terrible injury from a fight with other lions a few month back his left hind leg is completely immobile. He is in an average condition considering the bad injury and hops along on 3 legs trying to keep up with his brothers but being in between another 2 coalitions it doesn’t look good for him if there is a confrontation with a another coalition. It’s always sad to see these beautiful beasts like and is an unfortunate part of nature. Appearing to be a broken leg his chances of recovering seem very unlikely. When he picked up this injury a couple months back we didn’t think we would see him again. While we are glad we did it’s just sad under these circumstances.

That poor male he has so much heart trying to keep up with his brothers. God Bless him. This is a prime example of why Lions are Magnificent Corageous Kings. Beautiful males and great sighting.

Handsome Trichardt males💞indeed they can be a threat to some Lions in the area...the limping one reminds me of the Monwana male, many said he would not survive and he is still there (with his partner). This Trichardt male is lucky to have his brothers, I guess they make sure he can keep up...I hope Maputo and Kumana males are still with some Lionesses and their cubs💞

Whoah, amazing sighting an incredible coalition in this awesome video😍The Kruger Trichardt Kings, young soldiers are a force not to be messed with. They are a powerful coalition, enough to hold on to their territory & have strong intentions & desires to expand. Their injured brother is a beautiful lion & not a burden to his loyal brothers he manages to keep up with them & simply gets on with it. I just hope the Kumana boys can steer clear from the Trichardt males, the Maputo male was severely injured in a battle with them only recently, they too are fierce handsome warriors. The injured male won't last long Bern that it's a permanent injury.
Eventually he will fall behind and be exposed
@@surayatimol2385 I do not know the extent of his injuries nevertheless, the courageous lion continues patrolling with his brothers & despite his injuries from conflict of battles, he appears to be maintaining weight. This shows he is a survivor determined not to meet his end, I'd like to see him hang in there, but that is up to him🤞he has his brother's support & loyalty. Maybe later he will be the one who sits back with the pride & cubs. For now, they are dominating & no one can predict lion dynamics.

I hope and pray the injured male lions get a good meal and gets back to good health. I hope no more confrontations.

I hope that the injured lion gets the support from his brothers to heal up. Yeah lion life isn't easy life itself isn't easy. So I hope they'll be ok bc competition among adult male lions to get a pride or protect one is so fierce.

Those rocks really seem to hurt #2's paws & definitely slowed him down. It also seem to help his brother so he doesn't get too far behind. Was the 3rd male with the injured leg hit by a car by chance, anyone know?

Hope 4 Paws rescues animals and provides medical and surgery for dogs and cats and has fund raisers on their videos to fund their work. I do not understand where are the services for these precious animals. They run businesses off of safari experiences, but can't help N'Chille or this lion with leg stint or amputation or antibiotics or even a meat carcus so they dont suffer? It's upsetting where I don't want to watch anymore because it just feels exploitive.. and I know the guys who go out and check on these animals ABSOLUTELY LOVE them as family but have their hands tied because of those in Administration tells them probably not to care or get involved. It's wrong! 😭😥

I agree. There is something fundamentally wrong with going out in the wild to film animals (many times looking specifically for injured animals), and then driving off knowing that injured animal will most likely be torn apart by the end of the evening…
I have seen lions caught in a snare receive treatment. Hard to believe that these virtual safaris can pay to keep the poachers out. Yet, left alone, animals suffer and die in a most natural way seems hard. But have you seen a suffering animal heal? Gives me hope.
They only help if the injury is caused by humans. They helped Red Road and the Tintswalo males who were caught in snares. If the injury is from natural causes like buffalos or other lions, like Dark Mane Avoca who just passed, they won’t interfere, letting “nature take its course.”

This poor lion, when will Kruger take care of their lions. Believe me without their lions there will be no people going on safaris.it doesn't cost much to fix his backleg and if it can't be fiixed put him to sleep so he doesn't become dinner for some hyenas

It reminded me of myself. I am walking what's left of my dusty road alone. No wife, no kids, and no friends by my side. When you get old and your health and wealth are gone, nobody cares about you anymore. There will be no difference between you and any food product, in your kitchen, approaching its expiry date.

These lions are magnificent. But the video was mistitled. Instead of "Lion Coalition Announcing Their Presence" it should read, "Lions roar for 10 seconds then walk down a gravel road"
Lions only roar to announce their presence or call out for their pride. They're not doing it for mere vain glory or to make unnecessary noise.

Two things I've noticed here and that is that the brother walking in the middle seems a bit smaller than the other two especially in shoulder height,but maybe I'm wrong...😉
The other thing is that frontline lion ie the one that's roaring in the clip has that belly fold that's generally seen in Asiatic Lions which just shows it's not unique to Asiatic lions although the Asiatic Lion's fold is more pronounced and obvious.

It seems that these warriors have been in some battles, two of them are injured.
When I read comments that say ‘it’s nature so we cannot help’ i think of the fact that many animals, including these lions, maybe extinct in a little as 30 years, because of man. So if there is a way of helping, i think it’s time to act if at all possible.
What happened to the limping guy ? How did he get injured ? And what kind of an injury is it, broken bone or just sprain ?
Actually, they all look like they've been on a tough road. The third lion had a limp. They shouldn't be crowing about prowess.

It's obvious the brothers ain't letting the injured brother feed because the two healthy Brothers have obvious full stomachs and without the injured male feeding he's done for.
