Btob (pronounced B-2-B) are, I assure you, is probably ONE OF THE MOST vocally advanced groups in Kpop right now. I really strongly reccomend you get into their Killing Voice if you want to see how a top vocal group performs. From what I know as an old kpop fan, mamamoo, who are amazing singers, used to ask tips from them back in their debut days too. If there is Mamamoo in the female groups, then there is Btob out of the male groups. I strongly reccomend it. thank you for the reaction!!

More reactions to BTOB please. They are k-pop legends. These are the kings of ballads. I highly recommend listening to Killing voice! Also, I would like to recommend another incredible band Ateez. They are very interesting, both musically and vocally. They are the kings of performance. Their performances at the show Kingdom and Immortal song are simply masterpieces.
This performance is very important to stays. During kingdom hyunjin was put into hiatus and couldn't participate with the others, skz couldn't even mention him or anything it was ugly times. But in this performance the statue of the little kid that they're trying to rescue is wearing hyunjin's ring. A ring that they made all together with their names and "stay" engraved on it. So the theory is that this was basically stray kids saying that they were ready to do anything, sacrificing themselves, giving their hearts etc, in order to make hyunjin go back to them. In the original song BTOB go to war leaving their loved one behind, here stray kids go to "kingdom legendary war" without hyunjin but praying for him

It's more than a theory. The kids confirmed it was a way to represent and include Hyunjin, even when told he could not even be mentioned.

BTOB are interesting...Fun fact. Penial (The bald member) used to train at JYPE when Chan did. They were dorm mates, and they are still friends. Peniel has very good English, because he's from the US. It would be fun for you to explore BTOB at your own pace.
The original song is about a girl and love, loss, and betrayal. It's very nice. I love it.
The SKZ version is about the loss of a childhood friend. The members plead with heaven to bring back their friend. They even break into heaven to do so, but they end up making a deal with the devil to do what the angels refused. So they destroyed heaven, and brought back the boy, but lost their own lives to do so.
We are still salty that the judges of Kingdom put this as last place. Just.....We are mad about that.
I think the funniest thing about this song swap between the two groups is that the original btob song is about a woman and the skz version is about a loved one (in the case of the performance a child) and they changed the lyrics to reflect this. Then we get to btob’s version of SKZ song ‘back door’ which is about friends/fans/found family originally, btob changed it up to be about a girl… 😂
BTOB always sings about love. They have a sprinkle of old-school to their approach to music (which is why they sing ab love so much), that's why I love them so much. But the thing is they write their lyrics (when it's not as explicit as they were in Back Door😂 and their sexy songs, which they have many of😂) in a way that is up for your interpretation to be any loved ones - friend, bf/gf, mother/father etc. Hence why, for example, Missing You is extremely popular (charts every fall😂on Melon), Only One For Me etc.
haha yes, it was fun to see this change up between the two teams. But I do feel a little hurt seeing you comment laughing emojis and saying it is 'funny' of how BTOB covered it, saying 'we get THIS'. BTOB is one of the most genuine people when they produce songs, and they did so with respect when covering skz, just as skz did extremely well for covering BTOB. (spectacular production by the 3racha cuties).
Yes, definitely you can interpret it as it about a towards a female other, but I do think BTOB songs in essence, is about 'LOVE' in general and 'LIFE'.
I don't think there is anything wrong with singing about love. If you want to talk about their style of production that talk about love, the members always say ALL love should be respected, portraying a gay man in their title track, 'Show Your Love' where they said so themselves to they tried their best to act as a man in love with their partner. Peniel always makes sure to say 'significant other' instead of just 'girl' in daily conversations too!
While, I'll Be Your Man is one of their few songs featuring a women in an MV as they sing about love, their biggest hits are actually all about 'LIFE', relatable to family, friends, and children.
Their biggest hits, 'Wind and Wish'.'Way Back Home', 'It's Okay', 'Beautiful Pain', 'Missing You', 'Friend', 'Outsider', etc does this well.
They talk about
- being an outsider in society where your passion is so niche
- burdens as a student or having a profession in the frontliners (like doctors, firemen etc)
- how beautifully painful love could be when you lose someone precious but love still comes again.
BTOB always tries their best to make others feel like they are never alone.
SKZ is definitely one of the most cutest and talented juniors we love, and they broken so many new boundaries for Kpop.
Our BTOB members also found them to be extremely loveable juniors, that's why they go out together so much (like Peniel and Bangchan who went travelled to Japan yesterday together for Bangchan's Bday, happy bday Chris!!).
Melodies have come to love them too. But we have pride over our own style of motto that BTOB has managed to protect past 12 years, 'We sell emotions, not albums'. We would definitely be grateful if you could be a bit more kinder and serious when talking about their production.

@letter131 I'm so sorry my comment and choice of emoji hurt you, I never meant it as an insult, nor did I mean that it was a bad interpretation or disrespectful interpretation at all. I love BtoB and their personalities aswell as their interpretation of backdoor. I also don't think it's wrong to sing about romantic love at all. I mentioned that thier interpretation was about a girl because Peniel talked about them making it about inviting women into their space, during the show, at least the subs said the word 'women', I'm sorry if I'm mistaken. I also remember skz having thier conversation about the original 'I'll be Your Man' feeling like it's about romantic love and wanting to change it to be about friends or a family member. So that's how I was interpreting the songs.
It was so fun to see the groups changing the songs to suit them, and I just thought it funny that they, in a way, had the same yet opposite idea. They just happen to change the others' song to what their original was. What I found funny was that the two groups were alike in their decisions, not that the decision itself was to be made fun of or bad. I also never meant to insinuate that BtoB's music was only about one thing or that they aren't inclusive.

Yes, Stray Kids made 8 rings before the performance (which we could see in the show) and and the song is about risking their life to bring this kid back. I really felt the love of the members and desire to bring Hyunjin back from all the backlashes. As a STAY at that time, I was relieved to know the love of the members, because they couldn’t talk about it at all. It was very disappointing that this performance became last place, and I felt the sadness of the members, because they put their hearts into this performance. I’m so happy that Hyunjin is back, and where they are right now.
@@reikot77Second to last place, actually. Lol MNET purposefully had the judges vote them to the bottom, despite how great it was, for one stylistic "falsetto instead of a belt" and a "complicated storyline"... simply because they were concerned with how well Stray Kids were doing.
However, the audience disagreed. In fact, they had an unprecedented amount of votes come in for Stray Kids that round, much of it FROM KOREAN VOTERS. And as we know, local is not their dominant fanbase and Koreans aren't the biggest consumers of their music. However it turns out, they REALLY loved SKZ performance, and for the first time (in either a long time or ever, i cant remember lol) SKZ was trending really high on melon. So the fan votes were so high and in favor of them, that it brought their placement up from 6th place to 5th place.
Of course, after that, MNET did everything in their power to try and destroy them on the show, but each time something happened to counteract it. Such as a few of the other groups fandoms trying too hard to vote against Stray Kids and ending up not giving their group enough votes, which caused their scores to be lower that the ones the judges gave Stray Kids. Long story short... the group who made every one of their performances a truly amazing one, won.
I just wish that the second place group's score hadn't been 10,000 points behind SKZ. (I swear, that was MNETS final dig at SKZ. Like saying, find, it's obvious you won and we can't fight that. But we cm make people mad over just how much you won by. Which, also didn't work.) Because of MAYFLY and how beloved they were, people weren't mad about how much they WON by, we were mad about how much Ateez LOST by. Because, yes, their score should have been much closer.
They had one performance that they maybe should have taken a different direction on, that's it. The rest were AMAZING. So the scores shouldn't have been 20,000 to 30,000. A third was WAY to much. Thankfully, the fans saw through their dirty tricks and knew that they did that on purpose to bring hate to SKZ. So, instead, MSNAKE got the vast majority of the hate.
Speaking of that snake... anyone know when they will FINALLY have another season? Because personally, I would very much love for SKZ to no longer have to be MNETS KINGS because that comes with them having to be at their beckon-call. And they sure have called a lot the last 2 years. 🙄

Btob does more ballads actually. They are known for their vocals and their live performances. Highly recommend you watch their live perfomance for I'll be your man. It's actually one of their harder songs to do live because of how demanding the singing parts are, they even refused to perform it during Kingdom because they just had 4 members that time, the rest were in their military service.

Kingdom really encouraged everyone to pull out all the stops. LOL. I love how BTOB reacted, and SKZ in turn with the adaptation BTOB did of Back Door. The mutual respect was really nice to see between all the groups.
I love Stray Kids they are my fave but definitely go and watch Btob too cause they are an amazing group as well. Their harmonies are top tier. They are actually really close with Stray Kids, Bang Chan recently just spent his bday at Japan with Peniel one of the btob member. And they often spend time at one of the btob member's house. You'll definitely like them as well.

Watching the performances in KINGDOM: LEGENDARY WAR is quite a lengthy journey since there are six groups, 2 different generations and each round has different concepts (10 eps, iirc, and an hour long each. My fave ep is 8 hehe. You'll hear heavenly vocals from a member each of BTOB, ATEEZ, and STRAY KIDS for LOVE POEM by IU...and then experience an overall explosive STRAY KIDS with their rendition of BLACKPINK's Duddududdu + STRAY KIDS' God's Menu, among the other 2 performances, too. Just that as a STAY, it's THAT episode for me haha)

Most of BTOB's songs (if not all) are very instrumental and have guitars, pianos, drums, etc. and they have interesting melodies! Please react to BTOB Killing Voice next, it's a must-watch! They are mostly self-produced since, Hyunsik, Minhyuk and Ilhoon composes/produces their own songs. They are considered to be one of the best vocally driven groups in KPOP, definitely the best live performers and the harmony-kings! They are great musicians, with a great discography! (On top of all that, they are also very funny and have goofy personalities, so it's easy to fall completely into this rabbit hole lol!)
Still can't believe BTOB was in Kingdom, their first survival show, and in their 9th year anniversary at that, without 2 members (since they were in the military att)! They were the most senior in the show, formed a great bond with the other groups, especially Stray Kids. Anyway, BTOB are super famous in Korea mostly, but has gained more fame outside of Korea in recent years. I don't really get why they're underrated internationally, seeing how good their music and they are! Concidering they are very famous, they have difficult songs since there is nothing they can't sing really, it's very brave of Stray Kids to take on their song! They did a good job, was really re-born to something very different, as per the inquiry of that episode on Kingdom!

This is one of my favorite performances from Stray Kids, ever. I know someone else already commented below about the meaning behind it (Hyunjin being on hiatus unfairly during this time, the group not even being permitted to mention him, him being represented by the boy in this song, and so on). In the song's opening, you can see Han's ring prominently on the hand he reaches toward the statue. Hyunjin's ring is actually on the statue, is my understanding. The emotion in all of their voices and in the performance itself is so visceral and raw, and I think it's because they were all thinking of Hyunjin. I'm still so, so angry at the show's producers for how they treated I.N. with this performance (interviewing him about the "missed note" at the end before any of his group members could talk to him, just to create drama), and I feel they were absolutely robbed when the judges placed them last. Thank goodness for Stay votes making the difference in their placement. IMO, that missed note just underlines the raw emotion of the performance and actually enhances it. I. N. did so well, and seeing him cry after the performance still breaks my heart. Chan talked to him and was of course the awesome leader and Dad figure he is, but later back at the dorms he cried again. The group members all comforted him, but I really believe if the show producers hadn't intentionally gone after that moment for drama, and if the performance had been judged fairly, he wouldn't have taken it so much to heart.

During Kingdon, SKZ chose to work with BTOB WITHOUT hesitation, that's how much they thought of them. Mind you BTOB were shocked...lol.
I did learn that BTOB were going to disband at one stage because they couldn't 'make it' then all it took was just 1 song then BAM spotlight. Very much like GODS MENU did for SKZ.
SKZ had to make the song their own so they changed the subject of the song. Their song was about the child, who died and turned into a statue. SKZ was having none of that, in the end they did a deal with the devil. The boys life for a heart. Once Chan put the heart into the status hand the boy came alive again but at the cost of SKZ lives.
Now to shock YOU. SKZ actually placed LAST for this performance 😢

unfortunately a proper live version without reactions of other groups was taken down from the channel, as well as many other skz performances on Kingdom. you can find the re-uploads though.
BTOB (pronounced as be-to-be, stands for born to beat) debuted in 2012, they are a vocal heavy group known for their ballads and were the oldest group on the Kingdom show. SKZ won the previous round and got the opportunity to choose a group from the show to switch the songs with. since SKZ are famous for their rap line, they wanted to prove they can sing too, so they chose the top vocalists BTOB and sang the song in the same key as the original.
Changbin at the end had to rap the part, which was rapped by 2 people in the original version.
SKZ slightly changed the lyrics of the song: the original is about a man addressing the woman he likes. SKZ version is gender and age neutral, so the plot of their performance is going to hell to bring back to life a dead child and they paid with their own lives for that.
BTOB chose "back door" for their performance in that round.
During Kingdom only 4 members of BTOB could participate (others were in military).
the guy whose English is good - Peniel - is actually American; and SKZ and BTOB became close friends during the project. moreover, as I am typing this, Peniel, Chan and another friend of theirs are having a holiday together in Japan :)
for some of performances SKZ, BTOB and ATEEZ joined forces and performed 3 songs together as a group called "mayfly". I highly recommend those performances too. the whole Mayfly interaction was so wholesome. SKZ and ATEEZ members were already friends (they debuted the same year), and it was so nice to see how BTOB adopted them all. several months after Kingdom SKZ and BTOB had a comeback at the same time and were competing for the music show win. SKZ won with Thunderous and they insisted that BTOB stayed on the stage and they had fun together during the encore, it was so cute!
songs which Mayfly performed were:
- "playing with paint" or "playing with color" (performed by a rap unit)
- "love poem" (performed by vocal unit, it's a cover on a song originally by IU)
- "wolf" (performed by dance unit, original song by EXO)
actually Chan and Peniel is already friends a long way before kingdom. Lee Know and Minhyuk too

Thank u for your reaction. These two different gen are great groups. BToB can sing any genre that you can think of. They've been in the industry since 2012. They use guitars and piano a lot in their songs. Hope you can dive in more to their songs. Their "back door" version and their dingo killing voice are highly recommended.

The Wolf performance with Peniel, SKZ and Ateez's dance units (IN had to step in for Hyunjin bc he was banned from participation) is not to be missed. The degree of difficulty and technique was off the charts.
ALSO, if you are intrigued at all by BTOB, you should 100% check out the version THEY did on this same show of our boys' song, Back Door. Choose the version that shows the reactions again, because seeing Stray Kids SO HYPED and happy about the older idol group performing their song is so wholesome and fun.

Also for this portion of the competition this is from, the 6 groups compete swapped songs. So BTOB (pronounced B to B) swapped with SKZ. BTOB did back door and made a rock theme almost. It’s great as well if you want to check that one out
Also eunkwang and changsub (2 of the main BTOB singers) said that this was probably one of their hardest songs and that they are amazing to have done it in the original key.

@@monaschmidt4260 Haha wie cool ist das denn... Ja Kanada .. lang ist es her. Ja viele haben mir gesagt Ateez wären sehr zu empfehlen... aber ich bleib erst mal bei den Stray Kids. Ich höre eigentlich nur (90%) die girl groups - bin halt ein Mann ;) und ich mag weibliche Stimmen auch viel mehr. Aber ich werde mich langsam rantasten... bts, ateez vielleicht auch btob..... aber erst mal gibts ne Menge songs von den Damen die ich vernachlässigt habe. So, jetzt is Mitternacht und ich muss in 5std wieder aufstehen um auf die Arbeit zu gehen.... gute nacht!

As a STAY watching Kingdom introduced me to so many groups I had heard their name but didn't know any of their songs and I'll always appreciate that, In this particular episode, the groups swapped songs with the other groups so that is why they did a cover of BTOB, and BTOB did a cover of Back Door by SKZ that is INCREDIBLE, you should look it up as well haha, I would also recommend you to watch Kingdom (even on your own free time if you dont want to or don't have time to react to it) it is absolutely worth the watch.

You're gonna enjoy learning about BTOB 😂 they're a far senior to Stray Kids (years+gen) cause they debuted during the transition from 2nd gen to 3rd gen and they're older than them so the oldest members are older than chan by 7 years and their youngest member (who's also an actor, he was on goblin if you watched that already) is 2 years older than chan ❤ top-tier vocals + humor ❤ they've maintained their friendship until now since the show ❤

Kingdom Legendary War was a great show (despite MNet edits) and this was my favorite round seeing the groups do each other's songs. As a Melody (BtoB's fans, cause every beat needs a melody), you really can't go wrong with BtoB. If nothing else they did a Killing voice and you can hear a little of several songs to see if you like the music. BtoB have some of the best vocals in all of Kpop and they are one of the most unserious groups. The one that you said had great English should as he is from Chicago.

i will watch their killing voice... I'm just hoping they don't have "too high" vocals. that is one thing that can annoy me over time. I like the mid range the best with some jumps up and some dives down. But some vocalists are always way up high and that is not my thing... I am excited and will see. This song was cool and I liked their singing..
@@NeonReactionsPierreI don't think they have "too high" vocals. They often changed their singing order and all of their vocalist are comfortable going low & high. They payed more attention to harmonies, adlibs etc. Despite having 3 rappers, they could be identify as a vocal group. The only song I would say "too high" vocals from them is the song Higher because that's the point 😂

Please do watch the behind the scenes video Skz uploaded of them practicing for it! They uploaded a lot of behind the scenes for their Kingdom performances. Starting from episode 0-5. My favorite performance is the Gods Menu X Side Effects mash up. Which is a song of Skz you still have to listen to. Also they do have their full performances on youtube without the other Idols commenting or the fancam one when you can see the camera. They have just the straight performance with no cuts
Unless you like hearing the other Idols comments and opinions. Skz also did performances with other groups!! They did a rap unit song, dance unit song, and vocal unit song with Ateez and Btob. Again, watching the behind the scenes is really worth it!!❤

This Episode of Kingdom was the best. What a cool idea to let the groups switch a song with one of the other groups and reinterpret it. I also would like to recommend the IKON and Ateez switches (Rhythm Ta and Inception).
Btob are a boygroup of 6 members (formerly 7) who debuted in 2012,they are very famous in south korea despite not being that known internationally, they are known for their great vocals and for making their music by themselves. I suggest you to react to their "btob killing voice" video where they sing live snippets of some of their most famous songs.

also BTOB (B-2-B, no B-T-O-B) do a lot of genres, they are good with everything but people like their Ballad music more.
BTOB - legends of ballads!!! They have great vocalists, great rappers! They write a lot of things themselves.
Ynkwan is very good at hormones, he always helps and supports partners.
Henshik is a great guitarist himself! And each of them knows how to play instruments.
