by that same token if fsu doesnt have all those dropped passes and sometimes questionable penalties in Q1/Q2, maybe it's not as close at the half. Easy to say 'well if lsu didnt do x, y, z they could've changed the momentum' .. it goes both ways

What didn't FSU do well? They kicked us in the mouth all game long. Controlled both sides of the LOS. Exposed the transfer db's. FSU will be in the playoffs this season. From a LSU fan, great game and great fantasy. Geaux kick ass!

This is an EXCELLENT INSIGHT of what happened .. As hardcore longtime LSU fan I feel the game was not as close as it might appear FLORIDA STATE beat LSU in so many ways I LOST count. #1 COACHING/under estimating high quality FSU TEAM. #2 DEFENSE LINE #3 OFFENSE LINE # 4 SPECIAL TEAMS # #5 LSU PLAYERS CELEBRATING in the first quarter like they just won the NATIONAL CHAMPIOSHIP, for simply making a play, a tackle, a 1st down, when ever the dancing around starts that when I start expecting disaster.

That nasty hit on Jay D was in the 1st quarter. Both teams got a slow start, but this was not a 4th quarter ball game.. That is just wishful thinking.
It might have turned out better for lsu had superman showed up. I mean some dude named Harold Perkins who all lsu fans wanted to talk about. Harold forgot the blue notes because he didn't show up😂
Right before the INT (the play in between the out route to the TE and the INT) he had a bad under throw on Thomas Jr down the sideline. He had him wide open for a TD if he could just throw it 45 yards. It didn’t help that the receiver dropped it but he still would’ve been down at the 17 if he caught it. (Ball was at the LSU 48 so 36 yards)
If you got a guy wide open for a TD you can’t leave em out to dry; there is no excuse for a 5th year starter with 44 starts to not be able to throw it 45+ yards. On the interception the ball might’ve been picked off regardless if Malik slipped or not. It was back to back bad throws combined with other bad throws and missed reads all night.
And no he didn’t have “good numbers” until the garbage TD with 1 min left. Before that play he was 21/36 (58%) 272 yds (7.5 ypa) 1 INT. That’s like a 116 passer rating. He missed just as many open throws/reads as he had drops so it’s a wash on blaming the receivers.
Too many bad calls against FSU.
