    I have 2a-2b thick hair. It's very dry and frizzy but it also gets weighed down very easy. Any products you can recommend? Preferably one that I don't have to crunch

    I’ve spent so much $$ trying to find different products that would make my 2a/b waves look good and not “swavy” or limp at the ends. Products marketed for actually curly hair tend to weigh my hair down. I started loosely following cg method two weeks ago and my waves look the best they’ve ever been 🤩 Marc Anthony curling creme and The Good Stuff curl definition jelly work wonders for me

    Thank you!! I think I'm starting to understand now. I'm a 2b 2c wave pattern and my hair absorbs water pretty well. I've been having epic fails with each product I've tried. 2 different Shea Moisture shampoo and conditioners were a fail and now the Cantu curl cream is sooooo heavy on my hair. I'm going to try NYM shampoo and conditioner tomorrow with a light Biotera gel. Wish me luck.

    How do you personally apply mousse? Because when I do, not all of my waves hold and some of them look stringy. Also, does anyone have the issue of their hair falling flat when just air drying with no products?

    • @SuhannaDeSilva
      @SuhannaDeSilva  5 років тому +6

      I apply it to wet hair, regardless of what products I use whenever I damp style my hair comes out stringy. And the weight of the products and the water can cause your hair to flatten and the top and lose definition on longer strands, half Diffusing and root clipping will help

    Have you ever tried either Paul Mitchell / GVP sculpting lotion or joico / GVP sculpting lotion ? (Joico is protein pm is none both have water soluble silicones) it’s the consistency of water, and I use it in a squirt bottle (like ketchup not spraying) and soak my hair in it after my leave in and before I lightly coat my hair in a little bit of gel...more gel for a harder cast less for less - but the lotion is super light weight but very enhancing and lasts for days also reactivates with steam (or water but I steam my hair) if love to see you try it! It’s amazing.

    This was very helpful indeed! Thank you. I'm mostly 2b and love the "As I Am" leave-in and Jessicurl Spiralicious styling gel. I've never used hair spray (other than at the salon when getting an updo for special events) but am curious to try and see if it makes my curl last longer. Can someone suggest one that has flexible hold and [ideally] helps to tame frizz? I'm going to the beach in 2 weeks! Thanks!

      I’m not sure if I could dedicate a whole video to this since my only real solution is to add more water! I always find that my hair gets stringy when I apply product to hair that isn’t wet enough and if I rake in products it get stringy too because I’m separating my hair. Give the smoothing application a try!

I have no idea what type of hair I have because I have so many different curl patterns so its a combination of everything which makes it so difficult to embrace my natural hair. Its been 2 months since I started the cg method.

    • @SuhannaDeSilva
      @SuhannaDeSilva  5 років тому +2

      You won’t know your true curl pattern until your hair is 100% healthy/virgin hair, it’s totally normal to have multiple textures and you’re only 2 months in! It takes time to see improvement

    I'm just about a month into my curly hair journey and my hair seems to get weighed down and it won't hold the curl/wave that it is when it is wet. I was wondering if anyone could recommend good drugstore lightweight styling products that I should try. I currently am using shea moisture jbco leave in (which feels pretty heavy) and cantu moisturizing activator cream and I.a. looks gel (the blue one). Any advice is greatly appreciated. Right now it seems as though my hair is currently at a 2a/2b being that i just started.

      Jason & Sierra Dodson i use a gel from Curls, the control curl sculpting gel or the curl control jelly. Midway the drying process you can reaply gel. Sometimes that helps my curls hold on longer. I think in America you can find this in the drugstore, i don’t really know, i’m from Belgium.
