Hi David thanks for taking the time to comment glad you enjoyed the video! Yes it’s easy to blast baits to the horizon but you need to know when to drop them short and trust your judgment!!! Cheers Ian
On our bass beach, which is quite shallow, the rough weather puts anglers off! Which usually means me and my mate are the only ones out there... Their loss😉 I really like the stormy weather, ok it's a pain to cast etc, but in my opinion, it brings the fish closer in! I've caught a lot of bass, when people have been standing on a sand bar, right behind them in 2.5ft of water...... Another great vlog, don't care about sound quality, just keep them coming! Thankyou.
Hi again Simon yes it’s amazing how close the bass come in really rough weather. The only problem on Chesil fishing close when it’s rough is the high probability of your line getting buried in the shingle. Once a load of stone has been deposited by a big wave onto your line it’s pretty well lost and you can’t get it back. Therefore you need to fish a bit further out and recast regularly. Glad you enjoyed the video cheers ian
Thanks Gary the sound not great at times but think it gave a real impression of the conditions!!! Always nice to overcome and get some fish! Cheers for watching again! Ian
Hi Andy thanks again for watching! Yes as I get older I’m much more reluctant to kill my fish....that’s not to say I don’t keep the odd one...I love bream and cod especially! But big bass just look so beautiful they have to go back. Cheers Ian
Yes mate there is definitely a sense of achievement.....a sort of battle against the elements!!!! Don’t always come out victorious though!!! 😉 cheers Ian
Hi Alan in a perverse sort of way the poor weather made it all the more worthwhile....sort of triumph in the face of adversity....mind you I’m still recovering!!!! Cheers Ian
Hi Gareth! Yes normally I do blast the baits out there but all fish caught less than 50 yards out.....mind you into that wind I doubt I could have done much further!! Cheers Ian
We were there on Tuesday to, mid way between Abbotsbury and and the dragons teeth , we really couldn't any further and caught a bucket load of makeral and although the sea and wind was horrendous we still managed to have a fry up behind our brollie before calling it a day. Brilliant fun. Tight lines.
Hi Alan we got there about 4pm it was a howling gale!!! We were going to do our usual walk for 30 minutes past the teeth but ended up only doing 10 as it was so awful! The mackerel shoals were amazing! Cheers Ian
@@ianclarkfishing So glad you had a good time to, yes the wind and sea were amazing. Oh and while i remember the title of the video is missing an R in strong , but being there I knew exactly what you mean ha ha
Hi Chris yes it was pretty rough! It was very amusing seeing the three boys huddled together in a one man bivvy! But the fish definitely came closer because of the conditions. Cheers Ian
Hi Phil to be honest when we got there I didn’t think either the boys or me and Chris would last the night but we somehow did....think I got 30 minutes sleep!!!! Cheers Ian
I was at Abbotsbury chesil yesterday I had a 5ib 5oz hound a 2ib bass bream and pouting on my big rods. Me and my mates went spinning and had over 200 keepable mackerel
Ah well I can’t always be grammatically correct unfortunately....poor schooling 😂😂!! Hope you enjoyed the video thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! Cheers Ian
@@ianclarkfishing Yeah, really enjoy watching the videos. I'm just down the road in Brixham. I fished at Chesil Beach just once back in 1984. We did an all-night session. Both my cousins and my tilley lamps packed up. All I caught was a Pollock, didn't even though it was on the line.
Ha ha!!! I was amazed to see that....despite the rough sea and slightly coloured water they were everywhere.....which is why the bass were there too I’m sure! Cheers Ian
Hi Bruce lovely to hear from you! Guiding is not something I have ever considered....Chris and I are both just average fishermen who get lucky occasionally! Unfortunately we both still work...Chris is a GP and I’m a pharmacist so until retirement I’m afraid I have to decline ☹️. If you are looking at guiding for Chesil then the chap who does the Fishing Tails website used to do it. Conversely I can try and answer any questions you may have. Cheers Ian
It's got nothing to do with the quality of the camera. If you look at reporters when they are outside their microphones are covered in fur in order to stop the noise I don't suppose they're using cheap equipment
Nice1 Mr Clark. You guys braved the weather & it paid off with great close in action. A lovely mixed bag - Crackin' bass & Smoothys.

Ian Clark yeah there was over 100 anglers all chasing the mackerel. If you keep at it I’m sure youll get one
I had to chuckle when he said "since you left us yesterday afternoon". No, I've not been anywhere :-)

You should go back....chesil at its best in September and October!!!
@@ianclarkfishing Unfortunately, I'm in a wheelchair now so I don't think there's much chance of me being able to get onto Chesil Beach

Brilliant session Ian, I couldn't make out the introduction due to the slight breeze!! Was it your usual spot?
No Mike only 10 minutes past the teeth.....it was so horrible we couldn’t face any further!!! Sorry about sound quality at times!!!🌬🌬🌬 cheers Ian

Hi Ian no it's mainly Brean and parts of the Bristol channel that I'm close too are you on Facebook ?
There's a few of us out there.
Hi Ian .....so it would seem!!!! 😂😂😂
something about the horrendous audio tells me this is shot on a cheapie Chinese GoPro copy lol!
No actually the real thing....just very very windy!!! Plus some shots on iPhone which had poorer audio! Cheers Ian

No such thing as 'very unpleasant' on Chesil!
Hi Paul ha ha usually fishes better the worse the weather I agree!! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment cheers ian
@@ianclarkfishing thanks for the videos Ian, keep them coming. I love Chesil but unfortunately I'm now living at the other end of the country!
