I want it to flip down and I want it to have a big screen on the front when it flips down just like the Samsung. I don’t want them to start out with a tiny little screen on the front of the phone and I’m hoping they make it just as good as the Samsung V5 I really like that phone. It’s amazing how you can do a lot of the stuff without even opening it like texting Colleen listening to videos watching videos and so on and so on that’s what I liked about it . So we’ll see what happens. Still paying off this iPhone 14 that I have but by that time when it’s done being paid off, I’m sure I’ll be getting into some kind of flippety dippety Phone hopefully. 😂 i’m really excited it’s about time iPhone does something different before I start and everyone else going back to android. I never thought I would be saying that either honestly. But honestly android I really liked and had no problem with it back in the day. It’s just back in the day. I got the Razr+. I held the Flip 5 in my hand it was way too small and the crease is way more noticable than the Razr+. Then the outer display is smaller. I'm a Samsung fan boy but I went with the Razr+ this time. I'll be back for the Z Flip 6 though because I bet they are going to fix everything and add everything the Razr+ has over it.
@@justmeceey I'm so torn by it because they both seem like a tie, but if you forced me I would choose the Flip 5 because of the ecosystem, update commitment, premium feel, accessories, customization, and the software. The Razr+ has better screens, colors, and both screens work together well unlike the Flip where things don't transition smoothly to the smaller screen. Flip forces you to use the Samsung keyboard on the outer display which for me sucks because the letters are so small so I use the Gboard. The Razr+ hinge is definitely cheap feeling too and 5w wireless charging is bad. If Motorola increases the wireless charging to 15w, add more customization, better cameras, and build a more stable premium feeling hinge they will have a beast of a phone to compete with Samsung.
Moto looks better but samsung is definitely more polished and optimised...u can tell that that Samsung has experience of 5 generations compared to any other flips or folds...anyone thinking of buying any flips Samsung is definitely safer option

Since everyone is saying the Samsung is better just by looks I want to maybe give the Motorola a better chance (im not saying it's better but you still shouldn't just decide on a phone based off of looks): The Motorola has bigger screens, the smaller screen is much higher resolution than the Samsung one, and both of Motorola's screens have a higher refresh rate. However, the Motorola does not have a rating for water resistance (the Samsung does). That technically doesn't mean that the Motorola doesn't have water resistance though. They both have snapdragon 8 processors but Samsung has the gen 2 vs a gen 1 on a Motorola (shouldn't be too much difference in performance though) Storage and ram is pretty much the same for both The Motorola has a 3800mah battery vs 3700 on the Samsung. The Motorola supports 30W wired charging vs 25W, but wireless the Samsung has 15w vs 5w The Samsung has 2 12mp cameras and 1 10mp, the Motorola has a 12mp, a 13mp and a 32mp, so slightly better. Prices are pretty much the same. Overall they are very similar phones but they have their benefits, for example the camera on the Motorola is probably much better.
Motorola Razr is better this year , a bigger outer display and you can do more on it , the Samsung flip 5 is still a litte behind far as outer display functions, the Razr+ , you can open all apps on outer screen and use them , Samsung flip 5 cant , just some apps ...next year Samsung should be better, but the Motorola Razr+ might be too if they release a new one and make a few upgrades ..right now it's the Razr + try both in your hands at the store ..I chose the Motorola
The Z Flip 5 outsells the Razr 40 Ultra. Samsung provide +1 year more support than Motorola. Samsung give security updates more regularly. As of April 2024, the Razr STILL has no Android 14, 7 months after the Flip got it.

No one's gonna be using the full screen when you can do so much with the small screen. That's the whole point. The number of times the Moto phone is gonna be flipped will be drastically reduced.

I wondered why Samsung didn't build the screen around the camera lenses and now that I see this, I'm happy they didn't!! The cameras are intrusive to the content you are using on the Moto, worse than Apples dynamic island.
You don't have to run it in full screen. Swipe the bottom button and the screen can look the same height as the Samsung. I would rather have the option to go full screen than not as with the flip.Really makes a difference in certain apps.
@jeffwoodard At this point, I would rather have a smaller screen than have to switch between full and half-use app by app. My moms Flip 5 came yesterday and Samsungs software implementation is just amazing!! Don't start that we cant use all apps like Moto because there are apps to fix that, I set up my niece's Flip 4s cover screen to run all apps and that phone has a tiny display, now imagine on the Flip 5.

Razr hands down looks way better. They just need to bump up the specs and it’d be SOOO nice. (And this is coming from a hard core Apple user). If I wasn’t so heavily invested in the Apple ecosystem I’d buy a razr right now.
Samsung not only has way more durability ( i dropped my s21 ultra with no case multiple times and never broke) it also looks better imo. Faster chip too.
I have the RAZR and I already preordered the flip 5. A big bummer on the RAZR is that the front screen is curved. If you put a screen protector on everything like I do day 1 then your choices are limited to film protectors instead of glass protectors. I've always liked glass better. The Flip has a nice flat screen on the outside.

I've had the Moto + for a month now and I LOVE the screen. Will say, you need to become an ace at putting on a screen protector for the front because IT IS tricky. Though, after going through trials I have found a really good screen protector! I do like the screen and pleather back - it makes it easier to place on the table and it doesn't go flying. I DID drop my moto + on a marble floor and it survived fhudsfjds THANK GOODNESS but, flip phones overall require different care.

Besides giving the appearance of a larger screen and looking cooler, I don't see the functional purpose vs just going around the cameras as they are large camera lenses that take up alot of space, unlike a small hole punch

I love my z flip 5, but why couldn't they have made them a little wider
Has anyone got any idea how to remove the double time showing from the Z flip phone? Even if i set up different clock mode it still shows this double time on outside screen...
Love how the moto put the screen under the cameras as well but the galaxy is just so sexy.
Besides giving the appearance of a larger screen and looking cooler, I don't see the functional purpose vs just going around the cameras as they are large camera lenses that take up alot of space, unlike a small hole punch
