The big house in the thumbnail is my family's former home at Taylor & Maffitt. My great great great grandparents, Hermann Eicks & Maria Helle Eicks were there from the 1880's-1910's. Most likely, he at least built the unusual front steps. They were immigrants from Germany, but on the border with Holland where they had earlier roots, and that is where this style of entryway originates.
