The Old Baraboo Inn - Baraboo
The Old Baraboo Inn, located in the historic town of Baraboo, is known for its paranormal activity. The building, originally constructed in 1864, was once a saloon and brothel, and it is said that some of the former inhabitants never left. Patrons and staff have reported hearing voices, seeing shadowy figures, and feeling sudden cold spots. The building is a popular destination for ghost hunters and paranormal investigators.

Isn't there some story Aztalan was a northern outpost of Atlantis, and the builders of the area were the same as Cahohia, which oddly shares words with Amharic? Never liked driving past that park on road trips, always felt like something was watching me. Its a fantastic park, been in once, but the entire time it felt like I was watched, and what was watching wasn't sure if it should be friendly or not, same feel as when I drive past it.

It wasn't because they were unfriendly. They originally came from South America and practiced human sacrifice as part of their seasonal spiritual practices. They did trade with the local tribe as their artifacts were found in Ho-Chunk villages.

I don't blame the native Americans keeping things hidden because so many people aren't very nice or respectful.

The land was occupied by natives from South America who built the city as an outpost. They lived there for a few years and then left. They coexisted with the indigenous people already living there who later became known as the Ho-Chunk. Later the Ho-Chunk became enemies of the Ojibwe who were spreading through Wisconsin looking for land after being pushed out of the East Coast. As the Ojibwe encroached upon their land war broke out between the two tribes. The spirit was Ho-Chunk asking if YOU were Ojibwe. It was a question. Are you encroaching on our land?
