This band is a musicologist's wet dream~ A seamless combination of Steely Dan's cynical, prescient societal commentary, w/o the pomp. The punk energy of Johnny Rotten, but w/usable&intelligible musicianship. &The progressive rock skill of a Kansas/Yes show, w/o the geeky excess. Pure. Fucking Genius.
Great, GREAT tune! 'Remote Control' happens to be one of my most-favorite albums ever, BARNONE. Now, if only they can put 'Young and Rich' on mp3/WMA format, I'll be an even happier man... :^)
Just saw The Tubes in concert tonight and Fee still has it!! His costumes are still as outrages as ever. If you are a Tubes fan it's worth catching Fee one last time.
much has been said about the tubes, they were years ahead of there time and pretty much invented re-invention...each album trumping the one before...fair to say they were as articulate and knowing about popular culture as frank zappa with the bonus of greater accessability....the great thing of there music is its enduring quality and the fact that there still in "the business" and havn't sold out...certainly one of the finest bands to see live, rock and roll blended with theatre...superb stuff..

Definitely one of my alltime favorite bands. They were famous for their stage shows, that were indeed impressive, but I love them for their music.
