Of all the videos I've watched of ALG trigger installations, this is the best, by a wide margin. My AK had the peening issues and I had no idea why, until I watched this video. Excellent
This is an extremely interesting video, and demonstrates why there are such varying reviews on this trigger. The rifle used in this video needed fitting to install the trigger in multiple points, while on the other hand a 1972 Polish Underfolder needed fitting in only one area (grinding the safety to clear the disconnector, and engage properly).
Everything you mentioned was happening in my mini Draco. I followed all of your recommendations and 2 hours plus maybe a dozen test fits it is cycling like butter. I used a purple sharpie to witness contact points. ALG pull is pretty light, not sure if I will add the extra spring. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
I too have used a sharpie for that same reason. Glad I could help. I also have oil on my bolt normally so when I test it ill see if lubricant got on the trigger hook
I'm having the same issue with my SLR-104UR and rivet in the bottom of the receiver that requires the disconnector modification. After making the modification to the tail on the disconnector, have you found any issues with the disconnector spring now that it takes the brunt of the hammer force instead of the tail/rivet?
Good video. I have my ALG installed and I didn’t smooth out the hammer face. I saw on VSO channel that he had some wear that I didn’t expect. On the bottom of the bolt itself the ALG trigger is eating into the bolt. Does taking off the horn of the hammer help with this issue?
But not on a saiga 7.62x39 early model right? I didn't see this on the original FCG's and now doing the full conversion with the AKT-EL ENHANCED... Have you had this experience with a saiga?
It might very well fit perfectly with no modifications needed. I really couldn't say which is why you want to inspect it and see if the bolt is contacting the trigger or the disconector is contacting the reciver aggressively. I haven't installed one into a saiga in recent memory. Mostly Mak90s, vepr, and romanian aks
Is there a slight movement on your trigger when safety is engaged and if so, did you experience any problems with it. I installed my trigger and there’s a bit of movement when the safety is engaged. Just wanted to compare
I don’t have the Ak right now so I can’t double check. I did repeatedly check the trigger every time I shaved the roll pin down to try and get the lock up as close to zero movement as possible but there might be ever so little. It’s one of those check the absolute fuck out of it and test it because I cannot physically inspect your gun myself. No I’ve never experienced a problem but if you think you took off too much material contact alg to get another roll pin or find one that fits in the hole. I don’t think you’ll have a problem but that’s if it fails your testing.
if u look at instructions it tells u no more then .010 of play between roll pin and safety. u get 2 roll pins in kit n case u file to much off. using a fine tooth file I got mine with no gap in the roll pin and safety.
Thanks for the helpful vid. I'm not sure if you're familiar with PSA AKs, but their GF5 series come with ALG AKT triggers. Would you recommend doing this to an out of the box GF5-R ALG AKT trigger?
Inspect your gun as demonstrated in the video. Hold the hammer down with a flat head and pull the bolt carrier back, see if its making any sort of contact with the trigger hook. If it is modify, if it isnt then you're fine.
@autonomous defense -My ALG UL trigger will not reset on my slr 107r if I hold the trigger down…do I have to file down the rivet that hold the trigger guard or my trigger pack messing with a $1000 gun or $100 trigger pack I am not gun smith and also install the trigger myself works flawlessly without the safety two years ago just two weeks i took it to my local gun range to have my safety install now I’m Having issue need help plz thank you.
@@autonomousdefense Thanks I did what you said Nd I found the issue I observe my trunnion and see that my hammer pin and also my trigger pin are loose for some reason…so i replaced the Shepard clip and installed a AK retainer plate, every time I tapped them in it seem to come out whenevert I rack the bolt…..I haven’t shot it yet but I know those pins are coming right off do I need new pins or I’m not doing something correctly?
It can be fucky like I showed using a vise to press it in and using pliers to keep it aligned works pretty well. I ruined the roll pin the first time I ever did it
@@autonomousdefense thanks i put it with my som today, waiting on my file, the trigger spring dint look all that flush but its hooked up that was kind of hard and annoying also,i have a wbp
just saying if making a vid wanting to show small items and tight areas please have good lighting and close up shots so viewers can actually see what youre taliking about. what u can see while doing the work and what viewers see trying to watch ur vids is 2 differnt things. its why when pros shoot movies and pics indoors they use so many lights its for things to show up for the viewers
……dog specific photos at high resolution that can clearly be seen are clipped into this video and when they aren’t it’s for irrelevant movements you don’t actually need to understand what’s going on. If you physically own an AK or have ever opened it up you’d understand clearly what’s going on and if you haven’t of course you wouldn’t.
This is literally the most detailed video of this exact procedure on UA-cam. It has more information than any of the other videos on the AKT have. It’s why I made it and why people specifically have said so in the comments….
@@autonomousdefense hell, I'm in GA. I could drive the thing to you. Arsenal sam7-sf. And pay you more :). Just trying to sweeten the pot a bit haha. You clearly do good work and I don't trust any local gunsmiths to do this job properly.
@@FarmerJimbob it’s honestly not a difficult thing to do just take some patients and a dremal. You’ve got a lot of material that takes time to remove so it’s pretty easy to do with taking too much

That’s why I made the video, I’ve done this maybe 8 times now and there wasn’t a video that combined all the important info.

Amazing video. I just brought the gun to the gunsmith and he fitted it. But its really cool to see what he did by watching how you did it. :)

Nice video, super in-depth.
Will definitely be referring back to this when my Christmas present comes in 👍
Nobody gonna talk about your bionic thumb around the 2:50 mark??
Good gracious that flexibility is wild

That'll do lad. That'll do!

I'd need to see photos, removing some material might help but I'd need to physically see it to fully understand whats going on

Inspect your trigger group with the dust cover of and look for the issue. Id advise you file material from the trigger group and not your rivet.

How material did you take off the hammer?
How much? Enough to smoothin the bumps but thats it
I have a Draco micro and PSA gf3 with no problems
God speed. If you actually shoot those 2 specific guns consistently you're probably gonna have a lot of other problems
