Absolut GEIL.
I was fortunate enough to see them several times back in the day. I went to UMaine Orono it was all about Blues Traveler back then, 91. Colby College, 3 HORDE Fests, The Strand in Providence how lucky I was and didn't even realize it. I just got a serious blast from the way back machine. Thanks John, Chan and Brendan. Rest in Peace Bobby.
"it doesn't matter what I say." He's saying that as long as it sounds emotional, and the music itself is catchy, you'll keep listening to it. And it's true.
I am so impressed with this song..now for 25 years without skipping a day! Emotions of love, some tears like driving a convertible, the feeling you can concur the world with a smile..it's got it all and yes..it will be underestimated and yes..that's why it hits all ignorant people like a freighttrain of love..
This is truly one of the greatest songs ever; a song that actually says my lyrics say whatever the heck I want but you'll still listen because I'm a badass basically. Never thought I could be impressed by a harmonica until I heard Popper.
It doesn't matter what you say, as long as you say it with inflection! I will forever admire you John Popper from Princeton High School in New Jersey. You John Popper and the guy Chan Kinchla who I attended High School with for a couple years are great inspirations!
see that g note harp it went into my hands at the world theatre.it meant a lot.just another form that the hook brings you back and onwards to another set of life to share to another yet human forms.gotta love johnny for that and all the extra needed changes we all go through life.thank you.
I saw Blues Traveler when the Horde Fest came to Rochester, New York in the summer of 94' with Ziggy Marley and The Black Crowes. The cloud of pot smoke could get you high just by breathing. To be young again.
Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this! And wow... to the people commenting about the recording... Have you never had a VHS player? Or Tapes?! You must've missed that... Chill.
Always loved it from when i was a kid in the back seat of ma moms car till now... my fuckin head still flows on the floor pickin up more dust of knowledge..yes yes yes! everyone do something good, change the world.
The lyrics crack me up. For years I loved this song but didn't pay attention to what he was saying. The lyrics are non-sense but the hook brought me back lol :)
That's awesome!! He's cool. He does play a mean Harp!! My Grandma used to play a mean Harp. She's was from Kentucky, and she called it a Harp too. She was also cool!!
I keep coming back to this song and thats what the songs about, wtf. lol I wish i could have been at this show, look at the bassist he's prbly soo stoned lol.
Forgot how fucking good they are and this song kix ass ! Saw them on an episode of Roseanne on nik at nite and had to you tube them. What sheer talent popper has. Dude.
excelente blue traveller desde venezuela saludos yolos admiro mucho agradezco como hago para tener la manera de bajar algun videos de estos señores que he sido fans de ellos toda la vida
mrdemoball, you may not see my response to your year old posting yet i still feel inclined to agree with you a 100% id imagine there are only a handfull of the musically inclined who knows what vocal inflection is. I tend to hear it more so in country music vs blues, yet if one were to research its various meanings one would certainly agree that john is one of the most talented, not to even mention his harmonica playing;a genius. like a rintintin

How can a song get better than this? Does this rock, or what? Great lyrics, great vocals, amazing harmonica, like nothing else. Truly a one of a kind.

I don't what's better, his voice or his harmonica playing. Just fantastic in every respect.

Two questions:

Yeah. He is, unfortunately.
Almost exactly a year later, nearly to the day, Bobby Sheehan died from an accidental overdose of heroin, coke and Valium.
Forgot how fucking good they are and this song kix ass ! Saw them on an episode of Roseanne on nik at nite and had to you tube them. What sheer talent popper has. Dude.
