I'm replacing my existing thermostat and got a new probe included, do they all work the same, like can I just wire in the old temp floor sensor into the new thermostat? 🤔 As I don't really want to lift floor just to add a probe I might not even need
The standard probe that is already installed will be fine to work with the Smart Square stat, it would be wired into terminals 1+3. The polarity for the cables does not matter. Hope this helps - Wunda
@@WundaGroupPlc thanks so much, I just wasn't sure since the old thermostat was a different brand etc. Maybe the floor sensor tech is fairly universal though

I have screed laid over the underfloor heating pipes (Wunda / wet system). At what level should the probe be installed? A) At the same level of the pipes, B) towards the top of the screed, or C) on top of the screed and just under the floor (amtico)?
The probe should always be installed directly below the floor finish with the tip of the probe in contact with the floor finish. For Amtico, this would mean channelling out a small amount of the screed to accommodate the cable and the probe head should sit slightly proud of the screed in order to be in contact with the floor finish. - Wunda

You need to run the probe through conduit under the floor so it can be replaced if it fails
Any idea what size the probe is? Would the conduit required be larger than 16mm pipe?
Does the probe wire travel under or over the pipes in the overfloor panel?
Reading suggest neither, as per video, i.e. parallel with pipes.
