the main tactic to save yourself if shtf is to remain un-noticed. That means hide during daytime, have a silencer on your rifle, with a subsonic ammo OPTION. It means that you need armor, night sights, night vision, solar chargers, helmet, counter-weight for the NOD's it means scatter-bury a year's supply of food at your BOL, and have non-hybrid seeds and also spices, It means have nut butters and olive oil and a way to get them to your BOL. Walking beside a mountain bicycle is best, with the BOL being in the woods around your local water source. This means forget about using the roads or a 4 wheeled vehicle, cause the roads will be full of shot-up, flat tired vehicles and ambushes. This also means have meds and supplements. It means to have 3 months worth of non-cook food, By day 90, almost all of the dogs will have been eaten, so the scent of cooking/cooked food wont be as dangerous. If shtf, you can't show a normal light at night, nor have a fire in daytime, The fire has to be kept small and 2 ft down in a Dakota fire pit, with both a poncho and a tarp around the vent hole, so that the light from the fire goes no place but straight up. If you only use one "wrap", it will glow like a neon sign. The air-intake hole will have to be dug at a 45 degree angle. Because this is so much work, better dig several such pits in advance of shtf. Keep them in a mile or so radius of your food caches. If someone finds one, post shft, they might well lay there in ambush for you
The wrapping the sling around your forearm brought back memories of learning how to shoot with my old man. My favorite "drill" was shooting a single .22 round into a piece of plywood and then taking the casing, putting it into the hole and then being told to shoot it out again. Im glad I spent my time growing up plinking .22 all day and being out in the woods! Good times!
@AsymmetricalPreparedness we only had a simple sling that was not easily adjustable. The sling swivels did not lend well to slinging it over your shoulder. 4 years of my time, I used a sling since I carried the M 60.
@@AsymmetricalPreparedness well back in the day slings made it easier to carry the m60 machine gun and m249. for our m-16s slings were used while waiting in line to get a hot meal in the field.
Single point sling has its purposes and you either haven't seen or neglected to mention that a using a wepons Catch with the single point eliminates the bouncing around.
I prefer 1-point sling configuration for QCB. I prefer 2-point sling configuration everywhere else. Being able to switch from 1 to 2 point on the fly is key to how I work my rife in environment specific scenarios.
Even with the most secure lock-up system between rail and upper, it is NEVER a good idea to bridge your primary sighting system. It just isn't. I haven't even commented on this subject before on your videos, and please don't take it as a personal attack. It is just not a smart bet to make. This comment is for anyone new to this, so they don't see this video and think that just because their rail has anti rotation tabs, their system is secure.
I have my handstop like half way up my rail to get a good c clamp but do same thing my elbow tucked down and i can hold my rifle up for quiet a while that way and doing the straight arm c clamp way far out ive noticed my arm gets tired quicker also
Agree with the shooter preference part. But reloading. I am not an operator or even a grunt. Being at the range a month ago, we had soldiers doing these quick reloads. Both your way and weapons up. When my guys came off the line, I simply asked them. “Why didn’t you go to cover to reload?” Granted this has been installed in me since 2005. Running the same drill on line with them and penalties added for a somewhat. stress factor. We ran the drill side by side. I’m not the one that got smoked.
I’ve tried a lot of slings and though I definitely prefer a 2pt 99% of the time all my rifles have convertible slings. They are all attached 2pt but could quickly be swapped to 1pt if I wanted. Usually only like the one point if I’m going to be standing guard or something in the same spot or if I’m sitting down. The one pt is definitely more comfortable to me. But if any movement is involved it’s gotta be 2pt and cinched down fairly tight. Also like the two pt around my forearm to brace the rifle for off hand shooting
I like the left right transition and mag changes and I'm going to practice those. Personally I've never been able to do the C clamp, I think.its because of years of hard labor with my hands. I just use a 90° grip and most my items are sbr. I think it all comes down to what each person is comfortable with. I do like you that you run yhm, I run multiple.
You point out that you moved the scope back to all thise folks that complained about it being to far forward then explain that it was only because they got you yhinking about the center of gravity.... That one made me laugh....
I've taken a few tacticool courses, it hasn't allways worked tor me working executive protection or armed alarm response since I was by myself alot. when I did actual dirt in real life I didnt have re supply, for endless magazines or in a stack with friends. I'm going to cover and to change my magazines and retaining my magazines instead of dumping magazines everywhere on the ground, wearing skinny Jean's looking like a chicken on a certain youtube channel "coughing twink lucas" that mall ninja garbage isn't for me, I learned more from a military veteran who worked as a saw gunner in a infantry unit then jacking it to a a former SF guy teaching mall ninja tactics.
But is it not illegal to buy a AR style weapon in Washington? For us law abiding folks your outfit and fighting style is no option. A good upland shotgun will have to do.
in the firearm instruction world we teach both shoulder transition techniques. your situation dictates the appropriate method
Train train train!!! Stay ready everyone, dark times on the horizon !
Right on bro
Tactical Response taught the "Retract weapon into work area" Method

The switching shoulders is gonna be user preference.
When I was in the military, we didn't carry our rifles with the sling around us, making it easier to transition from right to left.
Why have a sling then? Weapon retention?

I actually did mention that
@@AsymmetricalPreparedness guess I missed it. I think the shorter the gun the more useful a single point sling is.

We carried our weapon up in nam but stock in elbow fold , just the way it was . 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🌴😎🌴
Thank you for your service. 🙏
Yes, things have changed a lit since then
Carrying mace next to your face isn’t the move. You catch a round or shrapnel in the canister and you may inadvertently mace yourself mid gunfight.

I'm glad that in Alaska my biggest worry is bears, and they don't shoot back.

This is a great video…as an Engineer the simplest is often the best,,,thanks for sharing amigo.
Good video as always brother have a good week.
Same to you
If muzzle down try not to shoot your buddy in the lower leg. I prefer the low-ready position .
Thanks for this video. I learned stuff that I really can use.(self improvement is a never ending task)
Good info, I hope you guys are doing well!
Thanks! You too!
Practical applications...I like the style
Thanks
I run muzzle up because i was taught to in the air force. Its not perfect for every circumstance but it's not a bad idea

True you should get to cover if you can
Thanks for the video.
You are welcome!
Great info brother. Thanks for sharing.
On the flashlight. My personal preference is to not use a pressure pad, it's a point of failure in my eyes.
Gwot vet we were trained to do c clamp
Great information
Glad you think so!

How about gunfighter vs tacticool and machinegunner

Drop the rifle and draw your pistol make some more sense to me then trying to clear a small space with a big ass rifle
avoid cqb, ur gonna die probably if ur a civilian.
Dude winded from just talking 😅😂 train the way ya fight

I meant doing things to be tacticool just for the sake of it is dumb
Mike, I don't see any cool guy moto patches. How do you stay motivated without patches. lol. jk. good video
