I find with the Capri and all that lovely throat space that it is much easier to puddle the quilt rather than rolling it up. The reason being is by rolling it up you are then dragging the weight of the whole quilt around when you move the quilt under the foot. By puddling the quilt there is a lot of loose quilt beside your hands that allows movement under the foot without the drag of the whole quilt. And let’s face it, there is a whole lot of room under there to puddle the quilt. Loving the Capri so much 💖💖💖
I enjoyed your tips. I will be picking my Capri up on Tuesday. I had trouble concentrating at times because I kept looking at the gorgeous quilt in the background. Glad you commented on it at the end.
Would really like to see some actual ruler work demos for Capri. Ruler demos on long arm that say “You can also do this on a stationary machine” just aren’t the same as seeing it done. Almost impossible to get dealer lessons during pandemic....really relying on these videos, which have been helpful but could do better folks.
I wondered whether rolling on a pool noodle or similar then basting in rows as it was unwound might work. I'm thinking in terms of the Capri but think it is the same logic.
It depends on the model of the Sweet 16. If it's Tru-Stitch compatible, then it will work with the Insight table. Call your local retailer, or give us a call at Handi Quilter and we can let you know.

Really great tips for quilting on a home/domestic machine! Thank you!
You are so welcome!
I would like to see a lesson on basting a quilt on the Sweet Sixteen. Everything I have seen is only mentioning that you can. Thanks

Kim, it was wonderful to see you. Tell your Mom hello.
do more "doing" demos, please
Do either of you quilt regularly on a sit down machine?? Sounds like you primary use a long arm.
Question: When you are finished quilting, how do you cut the thread? Is there an automatic thread cutter?
so can I baste a quilt on my sweet sixteen?
I have a sweet sixteen, is the new stitch regulator available for this machine?

If I ever win the lottery I'll get a capri!
