Hello and welcome back to the Week in Timview!
For this week's episode we head to Los Angeles. First to Koreatown for some Galbi Jjim at Sun Nong Dan.
Then we head to LA's Little Tokyo, or J-Town. One of my favorite places to visit for Japanese food, culture, and antiquities. Tons of fun little knick knacks with an amazing food scene. Great for anime, manga, gundam, cosplay, and all the collectibles and stationery you could ever hope to shake a stick at.
First is Neko Stop to get some collectible anime goodies. Also neat T-shirts!
Next up is Tokyo Japanese Outlet for some more cute stuff.
Then we head over to the Little Tokyo Mall to see what the otakus and weaboos are up to.
After that, grabbing some delectable mochi from legendary confectionary, Fugetso-Do.
And a trip to J-Town would not be complete without hitting up Kinokuniya Books and Marukai Japanese market.
So join me on this tour through Los Angeles, and more specifically through the wonderful, whimsical world of Little Tokyo!

Little Toyko is really good spot for a meal and shopping. I like the lanterns
If I had seen this before I went to LA, I feel I would have eaten way more snacks and purchased way more cat paraphernalia
There's always next time! 😂
This is a great video to show people who are asking where to find Asian food in south cali
Thanks! Glad you found it helpful! Not sure how I missed your comment, but thank you!
I quickly realised that I had seen the Corridor Digital guys go to Little Tokyo on their Onewheels in one of their vlogs! Looks surprisingly comprehensive, from food to manga to gunpla - like a mini Akihabara! Also impressed that there's a Kinokuniya - in Tokyo I bought the first volume of Ghost in the Shell there (though I can't read it haha) and more art books at Mandarake. I'm really excited for you to visit Japan one day, you'll have a blast!
Yeah definitely, there is so much stuff in Little Tokyo and it's popularity just seems to be growing more and more, which is a great thing for its local economy! Unfortunately a bunch of my regular places were closed because it was a Monday, but maybe we'll go back and film a part 2 sometime!
Also I cannot wait to go to Japan! If we're lucky maybe even later this year or early next year! 🇯🇵
"I took a good poop today"!!?? 🤣 Now I *have* to visit!
I didn't know California had such a place, I'm definitely adding this place to my "some-day-I'll-make-it-to-California" itinerary :D
Also, as an artist, that stationary shop (and Ghibli section) gives me feelings, haha!
Thanks for the tour Tim!
OMG that ending!
Yes! A must visit for sure! Kinokuniya is surely a wonderful trove for artists, and J-town on the whole is full of culture and deliciousness!
There's also a great Japan town in San Francisco, which I have another vlog exploring *wink wink 😉
Bro, this video was dope man going to each place you recommended.
Awesome, glad you enjoyed the video. Definitely some of my favorite classic spots to check out!
Best Animation spot.. I bought me a n64 console over there 😆
Awesome! N64 is a classic for sure - great score!
Loved it! Thank you
Omgg I'm in love, tomorrow i'll fly to LA! Ahhh so happyyy
Hope you have a great trip! ✌️
the animal crossing and bts are especially cute
I hate that they don’t have public restroom, only restaurant has restroom for customers only, even the boba store doesn’t have restroom, so annoying
Haha so true! Very difficult to find a public restroom!
flyer cards, knowledge, or secluded

SEEMS LIKE LIL TOKYO... LOST ITS TOKYO-NESS... I'D RATHER FLY DIRECTLY TO TOKYO. SO MUCH FUN.
sweets, snacks or meals?
I'd go for the food!

That's where I bought my Nintendo 64.
Heck ya! Gotta love the retro vibes!
