”…Lead with your ears, follow up with your tongue, and let anger straggle along in the rear. God’s righteousness doesn’t grow from human anger. .“

God reserves his most spicy takes for people who mistreat the poor.

The era of moderate gatekeepers is over. We will eventually get over this era of angry voices. It may take a while.

I don't read all the comments, but it's seldom that I see anger at this site.
However, I am a strong advocate for accurate language. Euphemisms do not foster clear understanding. If the situation in Gaza matches the definition of genocide, then the term should be used. Moral clarity is critical.

    ☮❤✝🛐Challenging #Christian #Silence Regarding the #Gaza #Genocide, w/ Rev. Dr. Munther Isaac (#Bethlehem) and Shane Claiborne ☮❤✝🛐
The #moral #courage and consistent prophetic witness displayed by Munther and Shane during these past months has put the western church to shame. May we learn from and follow their example.

Tell me about it. It goes double when you're the kind of person who's the modern equivalent to the Woman Caught in Adultery, whom a noisy percentage in the Church would drag in from of Christ asking if they can stone them to death (Not that I've committed adultery; if anything, I'm leading a celibate life, but for some reason even that isn't good enough for The Noisy Percentage).

It's taken me a couple decades to find a very good church filled with incredibly kind people. I hope you find your community.

I love that poem. I am going to copy it down. Thank you for sharing today. It was the perfect counter to the angry hysteria and alarm bells sounding constantly. Today, the Holy Spirit reminded me to keep my eyes on Jesus.

It took me a long time “back in the day” to figure out why I was so uncomfortable with my family members’ addiction to Rush Limbaugh and others like him. At some point I realized that (in addition to the dishonest rhetoric) the unending torrent of anger, contempt, and disgust was a big part of it. It’s been such a disheartening experience to see that gradually become the norm everywhere. Or maybe it was there all along but I’ve just gradually become aware of it? Either way, I’ve lost a lot of respect for a lot of people over the last 30 years.

@michaelward1341 I also don’t mind appropriately placed anger, but so many media creators seem to have built their brands on being a firehose of nothing BUT anger and it’s just so exhausting and discouraging. I also can’t help connecting it in my mind to verses like Philippians 4:8 and concluding it’s at the very least unhealthy - if not outright anti-Christian - to fill our minds with that stuff.
