Another awesome competition hunt. Thanks guys, you put a lot of fun content out and make it fun. Got a question for you. Whats the name of that extension you have on your iphone that you use to record with?
I just re-read my comment and I guess I put a lot of emphasis on fun haha. It's a macro type lens right? Thanks I'll check it out. I've done a few hunts recently and in my last nickel box I pulled 4 war nickels. Definitely my best box yet. Also did a penny box and tied by PB 23 wheats. I'm in Florida. Thanks for the reply and keep up the great work :D Was wondering would you ever consider doing competition hunts with viewers? I.e We buy a box and follow your point system and video reply. I remember someone else doing a video reply competition and it was really fun.
I have thought about this. I might try to do a video competition with some of the other big coin channels first just so I can get the process down. Then, maybe I will do contests for a chance to do a competition with me or something like that. Unfortunately, there's just no way I could keep up with all the requests- I've had quite a few already!
That is a Polish coin, excellent find man. I always find it funny that we don't really refer a Canadian coins as "foreign coins". Great hunt great finds for sure. I love that double rim misaligned strike coin, I really dig those error coins. Congratulations Kevin, sorry for the loss of your Seated Dime Ryan.
I know! They're just a part of our currency in a way. And I knew you'd like that error coin. I wish there was a way to work them into the scoring system but there's just no way we could classify them all. It would get too complicated lol. And that's alright, I got a morgan out of him on the last live stream (;
Of course Kevin doesn't get the silver looking roll. "1958 not very great." 😧 says Kevin. Rhyming Kevin. I'm going for Kevin! Kevin wins! You should make a series called Nice Nickels! Nice nickels!
I love when you and your brother have coin searching competitions. Do you guys use a microphone when making your videos? Merry Christmas and keep the competitions coming!!!
I have two boxes of nickels to go through, all you'd have to do is set a place to meet to do a coin roll hunt competition with them. I'd love to learn some of your editing and recording tips since you inspired me to do this as well.
Thats great! Im going to do this with my husband tomarrow night.. How fun. You guys are dolls. Im going to incorporate doing shots for certain finds..(as long as your over 21)lol And i think winner take all... For their own collection...
I found a 1945 Denver war nickel the other day ago. It was pretty sweet cause it still has great detail and it isn't discolored from the side view. I almost missed it because it looked so nice.
52 & 53 S are pretty good finds and congrats on silver! Lol, MrsCFA just pulled a Bahamas 1 cent from a Coin Star 2 Days ago- pretty cool you just found a nick from there! Fun vid guys, not sure you should quit your day job for a singing career though! Lol, HH
The funny thing is, my video is now showing up as the next queued video on auto play after yours ends. LOL. And you're on my suggested feed too. First video below a couple of my other vids (about 4th down. xD) Looks like we'll get some views from each other, so I'm glad we both posted a CRH today. Mine started better than expected, so maybe one of our videos will go viral and we'll both get some momentum. ;-)
Wouldn't that be nice! It has been a little while since I've had one of my videos go big. Man I am so shocked about how huge your coin tutorial video went. That one video is over 6x bigger than my entire channel :o I didn't even know that many people were interested in coins!
It's not exactly that 6M+ people are interested in coins. UA-cam is algorithm driven, and people generally follow trends and consume what is suggested to them. I'm just fortunate that the video triggered a few things and went big, and that the content was interesting enough for every day people to want to share with friends and family (to look for the million dollar penny) and keep the story rolling. Most of my videos are not intriguing enough to be "shareable" and I usually get less than 10 shares on FB per video unless it gets a lot of views. That video is over 12,000 shares now. LOL. I don't think I have any other videos even over 1,000. The video is more like a news feed than a personal video, so it's the concept that went viral. Not me as a UA-camr. It's the only time I ever successfully began a trend. Once the video popped, news sources all over the internet picked up the video and did their own spin, and some linked back to my video. This video literally blew the lid off the trend of searching for valuable coins, especially pennies, which is part of the reason penny videos are really hot right now. The video has major authority in the suggested feeds for anything close to the topic and keywords. You never know when time decay kicks in and views start to drop. But I don't think it has ever gone under 10k views per day since it popped, and sometimes spikes up to 22k+. So it's possible that some day it could actually reach the 10 million mark. I would probably faint if it did. Haha.
New subscriber! I'm a Canadian and I find it hilarious that you have a -1 if you find one!! :-) Great content, nice and clean and I'll be back! Thanks so much and I'll have to try this coin roll hunting! Could be fun!!! Thanks! Darlene
Watching from Florida..Prowlerpilot her again. Neophyte that I am I purchased two mint rolls of 2006 Nickels. After opening 1 I see only 2006P nickels. I really don't know what I am looking for. Can you tell me how to do it and what I should be looking for. It's nothing like the video. what might have I of done wrong or what in2006 might be worth saving. As I told you,, I do collect mint rolls for future for my GGD and I am content with that. I'll just keep them rolled and wait for the future. Thanks Sull
its so weird that like every coin roll hunter or coin collector watches other coin collectors videos. Im talkin to you JD variety channel by the way im sub to you JD variety channel
Ryan if I was you I would stop betting against Kevin!! it seems every time y'all have a coin hunt Challenger competition and you bet claims against each other for the winner Kevin seems to always win!!
its ironically funny because when i find American i get all happy but im from canada so fare found 125 in American dimes the only thing that angers me is seeing clad dimes from 65-68 in canada we got lucky 68 our cut off year or mix year i call it but ive only been coin roll hunting for about 5 months now so fare 33 dimes and 3 quarters
Where do buy boxes of nickels and coins that haven't been searched, I have bought many, many boxes of coins, and not a single worthwhile coin have I found!!
Do you follow coin-opps? And they have a book called strike it rich it's a very good book. I coin rolled hunted for a year without it and regret it now. I have to go through everything I already went through because the book is just amazing, it's a must-have book let me know give me some feedback thanks. Silverking
I do now! Not sure why it took me so long to get on that bandwagon lol. He makes great stuff! I will have to talk to my coin guy and see if he has a copy. Thanks for the advice!
We typically only count coins as negative when we lose money on a find. For example, Canadian nickels post-1981 are only worth $0.037 USD even though I paid $0.05 USD for them, that’s why it’s a loss on the scoresheet. Most Canadian nickels pre-1982 are made of 99.9% nickel which has a melt value of $0.053 USD per coin. That’s why these are a gain on the scoresheet. And of course, older Canadian nickels are collectible and especially difficult to find here in the U.S., so those count as a much larger gain.
Hey Quinn, if you see this you should totally give my channel a shoutout. You and your brother were part of the inspiration that got me wanting to start a coin roll hunting channel. It would be much appreciated my guy, I watch and like eeeevery video you post. You guys rock, much love, keep it up with the awesome content.
Another awesome competition hunt. Thanks guys, you put a lot of fun content out and make it fun. Got a question for you. Whats the name of that extension you have on your iphone that you use to record with?
M Cohan thanks! It's a moment lens, they're pretty expensive though. There are much cheaper options that do almost as good of a job.
I just re-read my comment and I guess I put a lot of emphasis on fun haha. It's a macro type lens right? Thanks I'll check it out. I love Kevin,he's just looks like my cousin.
That is a Polish coin, excellent find man. I always find it funny that we don't really refer a Canadian coins as "foreign coins". Great hunt great finds for sure. Quin's Coins you could just specify. So you could have it like;
-Misaligned Strike 1pt
-Misaligned Strike with doubled rim 2pts
Or something like that
Nice hunt guys!
Thanks Justin!
you guys are awesome!!! I really enjoy watching your vids, especially when you unearth uncommon coins. Heck yea! thanks James
Go Kevin!!!!!!
Thanks Kendall, some day hopefully we can meet up and do a coin roll hunting challenge collab!
JD's Variety Channel I'd also be interested in a coin roll hunt competetion.
Just yesterday I got a 1910 wheat penny, and an uncirculated wheat also. It was pretty sweet
JD's Variety Channel Kevin did come in with a big win getting that war nickel though, great outcome.
I agree JD! I'm subbed!
Of course Kevin doesn't get the silver looking roll. "1958 not very great." 😧 says Kevin. Rhyming Kevin. I'm going for Kevin! Kevin wins! You should make a series called Nice Nickels! Nice nickels!
Team Ryan
For your low mintage 1953 s, you didn't add the 2 points for it being in the 50's.
I found a 1953 s nickel 4 days ago.
@YCH- Young Coin Hunter the mintage was below 20.8 Million minted so it was low mintage. It counted as a 5 point coin.
@@ripon1947 oh nice!!
@@aperfectspongebobpopsicle2221 thanks! I forgot about this comment tbh loll
@@ripon1947 no problem!
any thoughts on making a nickel placemat? with the scores and the low mintages, key dates listed?
srh9893 Buy RobFindsTreasure’s placemats. They’re real placemats made of actual material like mouse pads are made of. Not of laminated paper
I love when you and your brother have coin searching competitions. Do you guys use a microphone when making your videos? Merry Christmas and keep the competitions coming!!!
Thanks! I use a shotgun microphone that plugs into my Canon t2i. It's the rode videomic pro. Kinda pricey setup but I've been using it for years!
Nice video man :)
Im rooting for Kevin, so some reason he always seem like the underdog lol
You're not the first to say that hahah
Before you watch, comment below who you want to win! #TeamRyan or #TeamKevin?
I lo e your vids
I really wasn't feeling well today, thank you for making me feel better, you bring me up every time I watch your vids😊
Hey, thanks. I'm not feeling too great today either, and you just brought me up!
I love these types of videos! Nice video
You guys crack me up.Love your videos....
Love these videos
Where can I pick up the coin books you use in the videos?
I like the dated spaces with the mint spots as well.
Thank you.
you guys inspire me so much!!
Where did you get your macro lens and what is that tripod?
Terrific idea
Loved the competition!
Search for silver: AG : Acidic Grapes
Hey quinscoins, can you please tell me what tripod you’re using with the iPhone? I need one like that
I have two boxes of nickels to go through, all you'd have to do is set a place to meet to do a coin roll hunt competition with them. I'd love to learn some of your editing and recording tips since you inspired me to do this as well.
Nice vid man
Yesterday I got 2 war nickels in one roll. 1944 p and 1943 p.
That 61 you're talking about a grease error... but the way you flipped it (it happened quick so I may be mistaken) looks like it's a die rotation.
When you filled a coin book, what do you do with a Books?
I have 14 penny’s from ‘44 and ‘45 that are made from salvaged bullet shells! I got them for like 5-10 for all of them
Just had my best nickel box 3 days ago. 1942 p silver, 1903 liberty, and a 2012 s proof. Happy hunting
Thats great! Im going to do this with my husband tomarrow night.. How fun. You guys are dolls. Im going to incorporate doing shots for certain finds..(as long as your over 21)lol And i think winner take all... For their own collection...
Hahaha sounds like fun! Good luck!
Never in my life did I think I’d be watching two guys sitting around sorting through change. Now I can’t stop.
Lol welcome to the club :)
Logan’s Coin collection your name is gay
And your profile looks like a chubby marshmallow
Logan’s Coin collection touchè
Great video!
I found a 1945 Denver war nickel the other day ago. It was pretty sweet cause it still has great detail and it isn't discolored from the side view. I almost missed it because it looked so nice.
Team Kevin
Ryan of course!
Lol, HH
I saw that on your twitter! They're cool to find. Congrats on breaking 1000 subs!
Thanks Ryan!
Nice finds! Just wondering if you have found a 2009? I found only 1 from the whole box!
Thanks! We didn't this time around. If we do, they count for points in the competition. They have been really tough to find lately!
I think you could just do a classification of 'error' and have them worth 1 or 2 points
What is the book you use please? Im a british coin collector looking.to get into us coin collecting
2017 redbook
Quin's Coins thankyou 👐
Now I hear your liking some Canadian coins so maybe my previous comment was made in haste. Oh well still enjoying your videos
I just got $1000 of halves today. 1st box not one silver or anything else. 2nd box "jackpot" 28 90% and 27 40%. Incredible!!!!!
Jerry Logreco that is incredible! Call it beginners luck (;
I looked through three boxes of pennies and 54 wheat pennies
#Team Ryan
What books do you use to check all the mintage
2017 Redbook, the 2018 version is now available though!
What camera do you use?
Silverking.
I use a t3i for the main shot and my iphone 6 for the closeups
Watching now! You'll get a good laugh out of the video I'm uploading in about 20 minutes. =P
JD's Variety Channel pee
Thanks for the support JD! It's always appreciated. And I have to say, that was a brilliant title lol
I think kevin
Go Quin!
If you guys did dimes or quarters that'd be very interesting.
We might give it a shot!
'Coin scope' app works great for identifying foreign coin
I want to know where they get those rolls of coins
You guys should add error on the sheet 10 points.
I found 3 war nickels in one roll! And a few rolls before that got 2 in one.
In the total hunt I had gotten 7 war nickels and a Buffalo
Nice! Customer wrapped or machine wrapped rolls?
Quin's Coins they were customer wrapped!
If you had these rolls you would of definitely of won that seated dime lol

Hey when mentioning finding Canadian don’t make fun by saying ugly Canadian coin. Some of us viewers are from Canada. Don’t be so ignorant
you go to the bank and get 500.00 worth of nickles rools
If your counting Canadian coins as negative points then I’m leaving this video. Us Canadians aren’t amused.
Hey Quin! I really anjoy your videos but just one thing, not a big deal, but the music is starting to get annoying :D
Do you count 2009 for points as well like with the pennies?
Teamryaevin lol
Hello
50 grosky
Where's the bank teller?
We only made 3 videos with Dustin, but hope to make more with him in the future!
I always want to say Kevin is really attractive but I'm not sure if he is 18 😂😂 so I won't say that.
