  • Raisin bread takes about the same effort as plain bread....so why not make raisin bread? It's so tasty, especially with melted butter!
The actual effort involved with making bread isn't a lot...the only real work is kneading, and even that isn't difficult once you do it a time or two. However, making bread does take time because of waiting for the bread to rise twice. The effort and the wait are well worth it though....which you'll agree to as soon as you take your first bite!
This recipe was originally published by King Arthur Flour, and I've stuck fairly close to it, but I do suggest increasing the raisins to 3/4 cup, and the Cinnamon to as much as two teaspoons, especially if you like cinnamon.
    Ingredients
    3/4 cup lukewarm milk
    2 tablespoons of softened butter
    1/2 cup raisins
    1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
1/4 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
    1-1/4 teaspoons salt
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    2-1/2 teaspoons instant yeast
1/4 to 1/3 cup lukewarm water
    3 cups all purpose four
