    I've had two Toyota D4D diesel cars with no problem at all. my current one has gone over 300000 miles. so I can't understand why people complain.

      did you always check the engine oil level?

      @@mmore it doesn't change the oil level?

    • @mmore
      @mmore 3 роки тому

      @@diy04514 nothing at all. I have had vw group and they all use oil heavily but my toyotas never did. not even a drop. but I change the oil every 5000 miles. if you want a bullet proof Toyota engine then you need to get a car that the chassis number strarts with J for Japan. the ones made in Europe especially the S for Spain and GB for Great Britain are NOT as good because the tolerances are not as tight as the ones made in Japan. but on the other hand if you want a better car then go Honda.

    I don't know why people are complaining. Ive had toyota auris with 2.0d 1 ad and did 100,000 miles no problem. And now i have just purchased. bard new yaris with 1.4d 1ndtv. Ive done 35000 miles in 7 months. i think these are best engine in its class smooth and very quiet I've heard brand new bmw's and other europeans engines sound like tractors. I would suggest if they are looked after nothing will happen. Toyota has made best diesel engines ever with moderate power. Most of these europeans engines are joint ventures. and big turbo chargers forcing more hp and dying soon.

      Bilal Ahmed Toyota and Lexus has the best reability by far. Do they make that D4 engine by themselves?

    • @9458177
      @9458177 7 років тому

      zlopy Yes they make there engines them selves 2.0, 2.2 & 1.4 diesel are there own. Iam not very sure if they have discontinued 2.2. Also now they are using BMW 1.6 diesel in few cars.

      Bilal Ahmed I don´t know about their diesels but i know for fact that toyota/lexus v6 and v8 engines are by far the most reliable out there! they just keep on going and runs so smooth

      Hallo from Greece. I also have Yaris D4d 1nd-tv 2012 (183.000) and it makes frequent DPF active regenerations (every about 120 km). Any ideas from your experience? Does it need some cleaning? Maybe the EGR?

    Dear sire, I have a Toyota Avensis 2.2 Dcat 2005. And there is a load of white smoke coming out of the exhaustion. it comes and goes. IT's NOT due to the cooling liquid leakage cos I checked that and the oil in the motor remains the same over 5000 km's....PLEASE, any advice?

    What a load of rubbish . I have a Avensis 2.2 d-cat T180 with 115k miles and because the 5th injector it keeps going in limp mode and when is not in limp mode loads of white smoke comes out of exhaust ( unburned diesel from the dpf). There are loads of people with the same problem that use de 2.2 d4d and Toyota doesn't want to admit it's a bad design and rectify it somehow. Once you bought the TOYOTA you are on your on. DO NOT TOUCH IT!!! Go for petrol . If someone got the solution to it give me a shout please.

    Fuel consumption is nowhere near the Toyota quoted figures on my SR180 and I am lucky to get 35mpg driving 55mph. They should be sued for fraudulent claims.
    No more Toyota cars for me ever again.

    I've had three Toyotas with these engines and they were all shit. My current engine is crap, why Toyota still soldier on with this engine is beyond me. Mine returns 42 mpg (uk) when it says it'll do 61. Utterly useless, I can't wait for them to get BMW engines the D4-D was ten years behind everyone else when they were released. Should have used a proper engine management system not the denso crap they use.
