free is great! better than mine for $49 lol. It's totally fine though, it still gives me joy and I hope yours does the same. glad I could help and thanks for watching!
I got one for $20 from my local nursery and it’s already pushing 3 new leaves under a cheap grow light, I love this plant!!! I used potting soil with worm castings and perlite and I water with aquarium water only. I kept the original soil it came in and filled in the pot with new soil under and around it.
$20 is not bad at all and for what your doing to the plant, those are all great options to keep it maintained. These plants are very hardy and can grow with little to no added nutrients, so aquarium water is perfect along with the soil mixture. As long as those roots don’t rot everything will be fine! Great job 👊🏽
@@Plantdudejames i found out now after obsessively watching plant videos for these past 2 weeks it is better to use a chunkier well draining mix for philodendrons so i will get some mollys and repot to that eventually, until then ill avoid overwatering. since my first comment i bought both a 2.5 foot wide golden crocodile and a white princess oops! between those and the pothos and alocasia i already had a corner of my room is slowly turning into a jungle 🤣I am struggling with fungus gnats so im hoping to switch my potting mix soon, i've just been squishing them with my finger or clapping them out of the air on sight and it seems like im keeping the numbers down
I really am seeing this plant everywhere now. Lol. I got one for $19.99 at Sprouts, surprisingly, and of course it was hella sunburnt at the store. Barely has one leaf on it but I thought it’s worth it to save it.
@@erikm8372 it’s been some time and I hope your progress is going well! I’m sure it was an easy one to save. Still can’t believe I payed 50 for mine but it’s decently sized so maybe worth it 😆
Hello, I am from Indonesia. Two days ago, I dealt with buying two pots of Ring of Fire Varigata for my house. They will arrive maybe a day after tomorrow. And seeing in youtube, not many plantfluencers come with this plant. I thought for a very long time, that this is an extremely beautiful plant. 🫶🏻🇮🇩
@@wiedesignarch Aloha from Hawaii! Glad to see someone like you commenting from Indonesia. I’d like to say I totally agree that not many people post about this plant and it’s very beautiful indeed. The more and more I care for this plant I realize how easy it is to take care of and it just takes a little time and learning, and it will give you the best results overall! I’m happy to see other people enjoying this plant and realizing how underrated it really is for being a variegated philodendron. I hope that your plants arrive in great condition and that it brings you joy as much as it does to me! Thanks for watching!! 😁🤙🏽
I just received one for free in an online plant order. It was definitely a wishlist plant. I'm excited to watch her grow. Thanks for the tips!
