    I adore you for doing these videos over months and months!❤ I'm sure it takes a ton of patience! I had NO idea it took so long to propagate the ring of fire! I have the regular green form and was thinking about cutting it this spring. I assume it will be similar in the amount of time it takes to propagate??🤔

      @plantwithroos 2 роки тому +1

      Haha thank you - it's been difficult to have an unfinished project in the back of my mind for so long!! The green one might be a bit easier, but take bigger cuts than I did and I'd recommend the water method after this. It's always fun to try!

      Hi Lauren, I also have the green form and want to propagate. Have you tried it and could tell how it worked? My thesis based on my general knowledge of plants is that it might be easier but I'm not so sure.

      @@kassandrastein4249 hi! Sorry to disappoint, but I still haven't had the nerve to try this yet, lol.. I definitely plan on trying this out this year though because even though it's really compact with the internodal spacing being so tight, it is getting to the point where I'll have to stake it soon and I'd rather keep this plant bushy instead of growing taller I think🤔

    Very interesting, and so brave cutting that plant up😅 I air layered my verrucosum last year, had a fair amount of roots following removal of moss, so I potted it up in soil…. And it rotted! 🙈 fortunately the original plant exploded with new growth.
    Love the videos, thanks 😊

    • @plantwithroos

      I've had that too with verrucosum! They're very easy to rot, only a few cuttings out of many survived. So it's not you!

    Thank you for this! I have a very lanky Jungle Boogie that I haven’t been sure what to do with! I kind of want to chop it but was worried the propagations would be too awkward with the long leaves. It’s also long stemmed enough for a pole so thats another option I’ve considered so it’s nice to see you have yours supported by stakes!

    • @plantwithroos

    • @plantwithroos
      @plantwithroos 23 дні тому

      I know this trick but from what I've read, it only actually has anti fungal etc properties with pure real cinnamon, which is not what we buy in supermarkets. So it's a bit of a busted myth (sorry). As a powder it might still help dry the cut out quicker 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Wow wishing I had put my ROF in water or perlite. I got a plant with giant leaves a year ago from a friend but the roots were small. While I was trying to re-root it I knocked off the newest leaf and ended up putting it in soil. I had a single solitary leaf for over a year before I got my activated node/newest leaf last month. Sooooo slowwwwwww.

    Great video. Thanks. Is it typical to get multiple growth points? Was that due to rooting hormone? Do you think the original plant was from tissue culture?

    • @plantwithroos
      @plantwithroos 2 роки тому

      Thank you ❤️ I don't know what's typical, I've never propagated them before. But I think it's not normal. Rooting hormone helps with root growth, no idea if/how it affects plant growth. No idea if it was from TC.

    Hi great video as always! In hindsight, do you think it might have been better to make cuttings with two leaves? You might have lost a lower percentage and have faster growth?

    • @plantwithroos
      @plantwithroos 2 роки тому

      Thank you! I think the most important changes i would make are having it airlayer longer, to actually get some good roots plus put them all in water instead of moss / perlite. Some of the cuts were too close together but I wouldn't say it needs to be 2 leaves. Just a bit thicker would be good. But I like to experiment so you guys don't have to! 😅❤️

    Hiya Roos ❤
    I have just recently bought a small ROF from tissue culture. However all of the leaves are either really light yellow or really light green 😢
    There isn't any patches of variegation. I guess I'm asking if it's normal for a juvenile plant to be so light and pretty much all one color?
    There's some swirls of darker green on a couple and the newest leaf has specs of red through it but that's honestly it so I'm really worried I have pretty much bought a reverted plant. I could upload a video of it to my channel if you like?

    • @plantwithroos
      @plantwithroos Рік тому

      Hey, I'm not sure - it usually looks similar to a Thai constellation type of variegation but the very small ones might look different, I've seen them be all orange if I remember correctly.

    😱 Poor Mushu!!
    I’ve noticed that when propagating plants with large leaves, growers often cut off half the leaf so more energy can be diverted to producing new roots and nodes.
    Just a thought for your next project. 😁
    Thanks for documenting your process. 😸✌️
