Yo, literally everything y’all talk about with Vietnamese exists in my family. I got a Vietnamese uncle-in-law and Mother-in-law with felonies. And I got Vietnamese cousins with degrees and flawless criminal records. I love my Vietnamese Mom so much. I thought she was a Ghetto black woman the first time I ever heard he talk over the phone, then I seen her in person and was surprised. Also a lot of people don’t know Vietnamese are Asian in America for some reason 🫠. Y’all would have one hell of and interview if y’all were able to hear my Mother-in-law’s story; from them arriving in America to life in the hood here in America.

This was very insightful and thought provoking . I’m Vietnamese and growing up, I always wondered why so many Vietnamese people (especially men) had addictions to alcohol/gambling/etc. this makes so much sense now. There was so much suffering and hardships they had to overcome , and like he says our people don’t believe in “therapy” and mental illness never gets discussed or addressed in our culture.

There was a great Christmas episode where we learn he was separated from his daughter when the last helicopters were leaving Saigon, he gave his daughter to the soldiers and he came to America later. But he didn't know what happened to her until this Christmas episode and it was really good.

That's why it's hard for me to watch romantic vietnamese movies. Because we're not used to formality and the gentle language to each other. I think sometimes people in the shows who come from singular Asian communities (ktowns little saigon etc) that formed post 1965 immigration act might not understand and may even feel condescended. There’s a huge cultural divide due to that. These guys are the real deal folks their intellect and self awareness is unmatched in the Asian American podcast community

They look unique for sure, I like how they have their noticeable distinct look. But that title goes to the Turks and Mongols hands down, maybe Austronesians (South east asians basically) next on the list with their history of being ultra turbo vikings on steroids conquering prehistoric south east asia & polynesia. I'd say Altaic (turks, mongols, jurchens) and Austronesians have the most badass history, not only among Asians but in all of humanity no bs. The movie material potential on these peoples are just absolutely fucking insane to be honest. Like people don't know that White peoples used to populate central asia and Xinjiang, and Papuan type black natives used to populate south china & south east asia before both got taken over and replaced. All proven and even recorded prehistory and history. It makes sense why the west has such a grudge to the Yellow race in general, at a primal level where they get petty.

@@HTuanKsor Just because Vietnam is located in Asia, doesn't mean they are Asian. Vietnamese are not East Asian nor are they Southeast Asian. Vietnamese have beautiful light skin and big eyes. No other countries in Asia have that same subset.

@@OGtruthserum Wow you're racist. I'm vietnamese but my family have yellow like skin or tan and some of them even have monolid eyes but the reason why I have light skin is because I whitening it. I have enough of your stupidity and your nonsense. I feel like your just a little child who is only 10 to know any better. Who taught you that? Do you hate vietnamese that much to say those things about them? If you're vietnamese then you should be ashamed of yourself. May God have mercy on you child. Just because you have big eyes and white skin doesn't make all vietnamese looks like you. Hope you grow up and learn more things. You think it's funny to hurt others feelings? It's not. Because of you racist people are the reason why the world is a horrible place.
