I work there. Probably had worked a dozen of his shows. Had bought tickets to see him as well, 8-10 shows over the years. He never gets old. Best show I've attended? LAST PLAY AT SHEA. See him at the Garden. Its special.
Wow, his voice is way better than I would have thought at his age. The whole show is great, and I hope to see him play in MSG again (last time was in June 1980).
Thought I'd watch a few minutes one particular night and stayed riveted the entire show. Was like being in MSG in my living room. I can't thank you enough for capturing this.

I think that Billy and Elton patched things up a few years ago, and are ok now. Elton just played his last full tour in the U.S., maybe this was Billy's tribute to him, but I think they are ok now. His new touring partner is Stevie Nicks.

During the Pandemic, I have been buying a lot of cds from the 1970s and 1980s from my favorite musicians/singers/song writers! I was born in the late 1970s, a lot of great music was written in the 1970s!
Billy's biggest fan here... I don't know what the hell is going on here but he hit notes with ease on Big Man on mulberry Street that he couldn't hit anymore in his 30s!!! He sounds better than he did 20 years ago. Maybe even since the late 80s. I mean really since innocent man came out I've not heard him sing this well. There was a point in time in the early 2000s where he should have definitely hung it up but something happened. I mean hell, do it till you're 90 Bill.

He was "singing" in the original key, clinging on for dear life starting with the first spoken line. This recording in Bb is so much better and clearly the audience thought it was great. There was SILENCE in the April 2015 recording after they finished lol Understandably silent I might add.

Why does everyone always have to stand up? I have a bad back, pay good money to have a seat, but have to get out of it because of everyone else! Billy is magnificent, but I would pay 5 times the price to see him in a smaller venue with great seating where people didn't feel obliged to get up!
I feel your pain. I was on front row on section 106. I saw a lot people paying high price for orchestra but they can not sit down. Everyone stood up. I feel even worse for those elderly who can even stand up but had to sit during entire show. I am wondering they probably seeing what they paid for.

That's a requirement for Billy. You must sing the anthem for New York, "New York State of Mind," when you perform there. Like a love letter of sorts.
