I'm not even halfway through this video and I already am sick of these horrible people...major respect to the employees. On a side note, I would like to hear stories about retail workers who have had to "intervene" with terrible customers, whether or not if it was an emergency, and if they would do it again.

Well there's not much to this story but.... I used to work at a grocery store during the peak of c19 there was a couple men fighting over a box of Ramen. I yelled " knock it off, or your both out." And went wash room. I'd try to remember a better story but honestly the whole think was traumatic.

Funniest when I worked there was, a little girl got stuck feet first in a claw machine. Had to call the fire department to bust her out. The entire time, I was thinking of the little green aliens from toy story going "the claaaaw chooses who will go and who stay!"

Craziest thing I ever experienced was either a rabbit in a baby stroller or the time an associate took my walker after saying they would watch over it while I shop in an electric scooter and placed it in sporting goods of all places.

No, not quite, Florida has a larger distribution area, thanks southeastern Ohio, rural southeastern, Ohio, south of Athens, Southeastern, Ohio. When I call Appalachian, Ohio, that is Walmart people for you. People work there, people shop there. Name of the people I went to high school with, my high school experience was kind of strange and unconventional, do not shop there on the first day of the month, if you can all pass if you can at all possibly avoid it. Same goes for Sam’s Club.

No one will see this, but I got a great story.
So I work in the deli department. In said department, we have the pre-sliced meat & cheese cooler. It was a Thursday morning & a little slow, but I was filling up the hot bar for lunch. There was a kid, maybe about 8 or 10 in our pre-slice case, with a toy dinosaur. Here’s what happened…
First, he has a thing of creamer and opens it up. With his finger. Now, I’m watching him out of curiosity.
Next, he takes the creamer and DUMPS IT into the pre-slice case. He takes his toy dinosaur & starts playing in the pre-slice case. “Okay, so this can’t get any worse, so I’ll go clean it up now.”… or so I thought.
He then proceeds to get his hand in the creamer, licks it off his hands, then spreads it across the entire glass cooler. He then does the same with the dinosaur.
And you might be asking where his mother was? On the phone with him beside her -_-
And of course, I had to clean it up ASAP.

One woman was yelling at a manager because one of the automotive workers "called her fat" because he didn't know if they had a shirt in her size. Demanding for "that kid" to get fired and daring him to call the cops. I've been looking through reddit stories and watching channels like this and started to wonder if that actually happened. I'll give it to the staff involved, they handled it better than i would. Unfortunately no, i don't know if she got arrested as i didn't see her after she passed a sizable crowd of people.

Back when I stocked at Walmart I used to have parents that would often basically leave their kids in the toy section expecting me to effectively be a free babysitter for them and I started combating this by every time they did it pretending to be panicked while calling over the intercom for the child's parent as if I had discovered a scared lost child
No idea if it really had much of an effect in the long term but it usually caused those parents to come slinking back looking embarrassed and collect their kid

I refuse to go to Wal-Mart as well because every time I've ever gone to one I almost end up getting hit by a car (either while I'm parking or while I'm walking through the lot to reach the Wal-Mart itself). It also didn't help when I had to go there during COVID and I was the only one wearing a mask.

I worked at a walmart for 4 years (and a few weeks). During that time, we have had a woman that had no nose. She had one of those degenerative-bone diseases that basically made her nasal structure so weak that it couldn't support its own form and it needed to be removed so she could still breathe other than using her mouth. Really sweet old lady. After she became a regular there one day I asked about it. She said "I was wondering if any of you would actually ask about it. You're all so nice here. You all do your best not to stare and I really appreciate that." She then told me about it. She said that she although she couldn't smell anything she was just glad that it affected her nose and not say, her legs, arms or spine.
A few months later she stopped coming. I hope she's still doing okay.
We've also had an Elvis impersonator, a doomsday prepper, a cult of about 15 old guys that showed up in blood-red robes and green slippers (according to the guy from Sporting Goods) that were looking for ritual candles, a dude that had been driving a mac truck pulling a long trailer full of manure. It broke down right outside the front doors and took them two hours to get someone to haul it away. The building stank for the rest of the day. Don'tcha love summer?!
We had our share of land whales on electric scooters, some nice people and some not.
A cougar flirted with me, once, and thankfully ONLY once. The woman looked old enough to be my mother. I'm not into that, so I stayed professional.
We've had a grown woman come in that could barely read. She dug through the $5 movie bin and took out Nacho Libre. Talking on the phone, she called it "Nakko Libber".
We had a guy I used to go to middle school with show up INDOORS on a dirt bike to pick up his girlfriend from her shift.
Had a white racist show up one day while straightening up the movie-series section and crack a joke. I was putting some copies of 'Roots' back in their slot and he said that he liked "watching the show in reverse because it sent them all back".
Had a black racist(or maybe just an old Karen), her husband, and I'm assuming her grandson show up one evening and go off on me because I insisted on treating her like a normal person instead of my lord and master. I was straightening up (either the CD section or the DVD section. This was 12 years ago) and she tried to get my attention. I said "One moment please, I'm almost done." and she grabbed my shoulder, yanked me to my feet and went off on a tirade like I had somehow just insulted her entire family. After five minutes she paused and I asked "So do you want any help?" She glowered and spitefully declared "Not from you!" "Okay." and I turned and walked away into the back room for about fifteen minutes. I came back after that and this lady was STILL here ranting to the guy at the cash register. When she saw me she threw another fit and kept repeating "How dare you!" over and over in between her tirade. She asked "Do you know who I am?!" I glanced at her husband who looked away, seemingly embarrassed. I replied that I didn't, she stated "I'm Dr. Clark!" Like I'm supposed to know who you are, lady? Or care? (I've googled that name. The Internet has never heard of her, either.) When she FINALLY stopped ranting again, she had just demanded an apology. When gave it she declared "Apology NOT accepted!" and she grabbed her grandson and stormed out. WTF is wrong with people??? I was just some kid fresh out of high school trying to work a minimum-wage job. Why was she taking out her issues on me???

People get arrested at my Walmart, quite often, and one arrest I saw that sticks with me is when two cops arrested a woman for shoplifting, while they were shopping, they were in uniform, so my guess is that they were buying stuff for the station, one cop came out with her in handcuffs and the other came out with a cart full of supplies and groceries, and loaded them both up in their suv, yes some cop cars are suvs in my city.
Another thing was this time a friendly stray dog was walking around the parking lot going up to people to be pet, that was a fun day.
Another thing that happened was this one time me and a coworker had to crawl into an older, obses woman's minivan to get her chihuahuas so she can pit them in her electric cart basket, she couldn't leave them in her van, because the battery to it was messed up, I'm pretty sure that's what she was there to buy, and it was like 90 something degrees outside. She had five of those adorable little rat dogs.
One time, I found a butt plug on the floor of the men's restroom. I left it alone, but it was gone later, so either the owner came back for it, or maintenance actually touched it and threw it away.
There was also this guy who told me how crashing his motorcycle to avoid hitting a turtle in the road led to him becoming religious and finding God.
A funny little thing that happened during Christmas Eve last year, was this A-hole had parked their suburban so that it took four parking spots, someone wrote the N-word in the dust covered windshield, so that should tell you what other people thought of that.
There was this time a woman got ran over, she was fine, mostly. Apparently the owner of the vehicle didn't put in park, and it had backed over a woman walking behind it, and had gone over the grass separating the parking lot form a McDonald's parking lot. Not sure what happened to the owner of the car.
I've had to fish around under people's trucks to get a stray kitten that had crawled up under there, most of the people that happens to happily take them home, too.
There was also the time a crazy lady offered me a burrito from taco bell.
Another time where I saw a woman with a cart full of stolen merch burst through the fire exit on the side if the garden center to head to the TLE in the back and someone in a black car came rushing to the back after her, most likely her ride.
I'm sure there's other that I'm not remembering, but those are the most memorable.

I worked at Walmart for 6 years. When it comes to animals it was interesting. We saw a good number of dogs that for the most part didn't give us trouble. Saw at least 2 cats, one of which was a newborn kitten found at a work site by these big burly guys who had brought it in in a blanket and got formula and all kinds of needed stuff. Saw them several months later and got update pictures. So cute. Saw some rabbits, and a lady with a bearded dragon on her shirt that apparently loved to go with them for grocery shopping. But the craziest would have to be the guy who would come in regularity with a pet monkey. One of those smaller ones. Sometimes on his shoulder and sometimes in a pet carrier. Also Saw a lady with two birds, looked like green cheek conures to me. Had some guts to do that without anything tethering them to her. They were just freely sitting on her shoulder.

It was the first time I went to the Walmart in the town I had just moved to. I turned into the lot from the side entrance, passed by the front of the store, and the first thing I saw was cops arresting a strung out woman wearing a Coors Light t-shirt.
I didn't go there much afterward.

Yes, these things really do happen. I've seen it all. Old lady pooping her self very liquidy. Junky falling asleep kneeling face down on the floor. Junky having a seizure at the check out and a Karen yelling for us to open another check out. Woman in the bakery slips and needs an ambulance, Karen demands I serve her, even though the bakery was not in any way connected with the supermarket despite being in the same building. Big poops every day behind a dumpster. Suspected a big animal and installed cameras for security reasons. Was the delivery guy that brought the veggies in the middle of the night.

Any other Canadians care to weigh in? I'm in Canada and have been to a few Wal-Marts (it's not where we usually go, but occasionally it's an option to consider for one reason or another). Can't say I noticed anything like that stereotypical Wal-Mart stuff I've heard about. It's just another department store, really. Not exactly classy, but really department stores are not known for being upscale places. I can't recall ever seeing completely unruly kids, public-poopers, or screaming psychos in my few visits. Just regular people going about their business.
So again, my fellow Canadians, have you seen any of that nonsense in Wal-Mart or any other department store? I wouldn't be surprised if it does happen, especially in more dodgy neighbourhoods.

As a Brit, this is really weird because I thought that Walmart was just like our megastores like Asda or Tescos, the ones which have grocery shopping + cafe + smallish clothes line, but I don't think there are any "People of tescos" stereotypes.
What makes Walmart so different that it attracts these people?
Like, I've worked retail in clothes and aside from a a few obnoxious people and drunk dudes, not much. Relative worked in Asda and not much there either.
What is it about Walmart? Is it cursed? lol

Honestly, what kind of people live in these places? I've worked in a fairly decent size grocery store for a few months when I was a teen. Nothing like this ever happened. The craziest thing I've seen on the floor was when a cashier unexpectedly had her period, and for whatever reason didn't get herself outta there. Unfortunately for her, her period as pretty strong so the floor looked like someone got legit murdered. DIdn't show up ever again, probably from embarrassment.

For all you absolute idiots out there, you know who I’m talking about, most service dogs have a few common indicators. Indicator numeral one: they are usually extremely well behaved, you would not even know they were there if you could not see them indicator to: most, all, but most have some form of identification on Them that specifies that they are a service animal, for guide dogs that’s the harness and leash, both made of leather, a really nice kind. Usually they will say do not distract or something to that effect or effect, someone can correct my grammar later. You may ask two questions of human with service dog, psych questions, or whether that dog is a service dog and what tasks says service dog is strange to perform. That is it, hopefully I’ve saved some guide, dog handler/psychiatric service dog handler/any other service dog handlers, part of the massive headache they have to go through on a daily basis. I suspect not, but you never know.

Oh, I have a handful of these flipping on an actual banana pill while trying to get out of my mothers car because somebody was a piece of work and thought they could just leave the banana pill out there. Let’s just say it’s only funny cartoons number two probably be the four times with in two months with his woman who does the rat dog thing that was different assist dog with her. It was barking nipping, and one time it ran right at me Cause me to have a mini heart attack almost different. Got my adrenaline running. The sad thing is, I’m going blind and I have PTSD so we do qualify for nozzle service dog but my friend to get one because of people like that that then they’re not real service dogs were round, and almost attack people Will the high deserves like that Boca visit attached my service dog if I had one or said to qualify for with being gone blind, and having PTSD and no the first one I mentioned happened when I was still just kid that last one happened this past summer and those are this one’s for us customers at the store one being the one in the neighborhood town the second one and the first one being at the one that I, within the future of that time end up working at heather I got some ones when I worked at that one too going into work getting there about five minutes before my shift on the boat to start behind the way outside on the lawn between the far end of the parking lot on the business side road through the industrial park where I was located for over an hour, because one of my male coworkers who is also a cashier like me at the time when do use the men’s room and found a explosive device threat, ran on one of the stalls we also had a fire evacuation that happened right before the start of my shift I love vacuolation‘s actually all happening before I could even get in and clock on one time with just a shy of a year of work in there like I started mid June 2014, the first week in June 2015 will you deserve shortly after turning 22 with my parents being out of the country and my mom be my legal guardian of the time or so is autism. Thank you very much will take been having my day program for those dates of those big dogs off at my parents house but I still webbed then taking an Uber to the Plaza Robert, my Walmart is OK eating at the local Denny’s but I wanna walk, the restaurant into my Walmart, but Kwassa Kwassa I could have enough big ass white work truck run me over and take off. Somehow I meant to get away with a busted up right wrist because I am also right handed and luckily wasn’t broken buster of the semi low-key busted up but that was fun not transferring that one to the management and the security people they got the police involved but the police were nasty and I was there because I couldn’t pinpoint exactly but I mean oh that was Joseph I didn’t white work truck you really think I’m gonna be thinking clearly after that, and then they want to talk to my parents because I was under my mothers guardianship. I had explained that the other country that my grandparents are taking care of me that Brenda is like OK can you get your grandparents are here I’ll be like yeah, I was gonna take some time to live in North Smithfield. I’m in Eastridge well Tucker Coventry no I’m from Rhode Island so there’s a Rhode Island places is basically a 45 minute drive and that’s if you take the short route and no traffic and I didn’t wanna wait that long and they gave up a big fat civic. They were acting it more immature than a well let’s assess since 16 all that more mature, that please officer than that night, I had to deal with all that traffic and not work because I got hit getting into work. The crosswalk was leaking from one business onto the Walmart property so yeah and the truck was coming from Walmart self so I think it counts as it was coming from the Walmart property and I was going onto it as a pedestrian and a employee like oh I had my vest on and everything all right so therefore it counts nice just to name a few one from when I was a kid one from the past summer and a small handful for my time working there. And all the other a lot more with that came from but this is all a quiet long, so I’ll save me all the craziness of an even longer one.
