Approximately 10 year's ago I purchased the then top of the range Rive RX Carbon seatbox in adonised blue from Nathan's of Derby. The box which basically consisted of pole seat, footplate couple of trays and 2 drawers. The basic box cost £800, on the same day I also purchased extra trays and drawers, and bait trays, feeder arm etc. I basically purchased everything I required there and then in the shop at a total cost of £1830. I still have the receipt here in front of me as proof of the most foolish purchase I ever made. Basically that same evening I used the box to fish a short local 3 hour evening match. During the match both drawer handles snapped, and I also heard a loud cracking noise whilst fishing. When loading the box into the car after the match I noticed the backplate had cracked from one end to the other. On wiping the box down when I returned home I noticed the footplate had paint missing already. In the shop these boxes look like a work of art and the footplate slides out as if it's made by Rolls Royce. However, in use, it's a different story. I was so proud of my Rive that I carried it to my peg wrapped in plastic sheeting so not to scratch the blue adonised trays! ( Nathan's didn't have a seatcover in stock) Anyway I knew a guy over in France who had a brand new unused ASI Seatbox that he wouldn't sell me before I purchased the Rive despite me offering him £500. So I offered him the Rive with all the accessories and sent him a copy of the receipt showing the £1830 purchase, and he swapped for the ASI. That was almost 10 year's ago, and the ASI still looks like new despite being used twice a week. All seatboxes today are poorly made compared to ASI, BRILO AND BOSS of the 90's.
Looks really good, A more in-depth video would be great. Pretty sure I’m going to get it, but can the foot plat be removed from the box.......? As when I’m on my platform in Ireland I won’t require the foot plate on the box and certainly wouldn’t like to have the carrier it if its not needed.. Would love some of them let me know
Can anybody tell me if the two drawers that come with this Box 30mm and the other 60mm pull out Handles on the drawer are metal or are they still plastic..?
