Who else likes river fishing?!
@@boleidi4936 right on! Hard to beat river fishing!
Hell yeah we love river fishing! Can't beat them smallies! 🎣🔥 Love those jig bites!
Dude it’s so much fun! Jigs + smallmouth = unreal fun!
@@LoOutdoors I've tried with a jig on the Russian. Didn't have much luck but eventually I will lol
Ha! Dude honestly some days you could throw out a live minnow out there at the Russian and nothing would bite…. It’s THAT weird of a river. I used to get so frustrated with that place and the wishy washy bite it gave me, but eventually I came to appreciate it humbling me. 😂. The go-to out there at the Russian was honestly the ned rig for me. I tried jigs a few times too and never really produced anything worth a shit. Lol
@@LoOutdoors yeah man, it's insane. I went there last Sunday and working on the new video but it's so hard to do my long hours at work. It did feel good catching something! Yeah I gotta try the bed next time! By the time I'm ready to fish for them. The season will be over... Anyways! I enjoyed the video and stay tuned for mine 🎣 🍻
Thanks man! Can’t wait to see yours when it drops!
Zumbro River is my home water, great smallmouth fishery! Love the video
Thanks for watching!!
Banner day fishing on the Zumbro! Way to go!
Thanks Bill! Sure was a fun day!
Dude u put me on again. Lived in mpls my whole life and never heard of zumbro river. Thx agn
No problem thanks for watching, RoNdo!
I didnt think it was that shallow, id love to try from the mouth at mississippi i think its better down thr.
Could be good! Worth a shot!
Yes it's a Sauger
Coolio!
Any experience with the south fork above the lake? Just bought a house that backs onto it and I’m from VA so it’s a bit different.
Welcome to MN! Yes from Rochester down to basically the lake is good fishing in certain areas. My best luck along that stretch is wading. Basically grabbing some waders or old tennis shoes (when it’s warmer) and walking up and down the river. From Rochester to the lake has pretty much everything in it species-wise as well which is kind of cool!
Awesome day on the river. Smallies are the best. I have never caught a saugeye, or a drum.
New subb to the channel from NJ.
Thanks man! Subbed back!
I’m headed to the zumbro this weekend looks to be where you fished in this video any suggestions on colors?
I always bring shad-colored baits and some kind of green pumpkin flake. The river right now is fairly low and clear so they will be chasing either color. Good luck out there!!
@@LoOutdoors I appreciate that my in laws live in lake city I’m in the stl area always looking for some smallies
Looking to rent a kayak at Oronoco and float the middle fork
You have any good spots in near the lake city/Rochester area?
@@walkonsms if you’re going to float and fish, I’d avoid floating all the “forks” of the zumbro and just hit the section below lake zumbro (after the zumbro lake dam). It’s the main part of the river that has all kinds of things swimming in it and will be your best bet at getting into some fish. Silver creek reservoir, foster arends, and Chester woods lake are also good spots to hit and can hit them from the bank!
@@LoOutdoors any suggestions on good places to fish the zumbro and cannon
Looking to park and wade
@walkonsms all over honestly - wherever you can find a place to pull over and enter or any general park or access point along the river will suffice. There are fish everywhere up and down in both rivers. Quick top of head spots: For the zumbro try driving along highway 11 (past Hammond) and you’ll find tons of spots. For the cannon river try the River Terrace public water access
When the dnr says there are 4 species of fish in the zumbro
😂 yeah so far I’ve caught redhorse, Buffalo, walleye, sucker, sauger, pike, Muskie, white bass, crappie, smallmouth, etc etc
Sorry not caught, but SAW a Muskie - right under my kayak
We grew up on the zumbro so it’s awesome seeing it get the love it deserves
That’s awesome! This is my first summer fishing it and it’s been a wild ride! Forever holds a place in my fishing heart lol
@@LoOutdoors just hit it today and me and my girl got into a couple different groups of walleye and small mouth. Absolute blast every time
