It's scenes like these that show that Elliot isn't just Mr. Punchy - he's got heart (too much of it really) and he's a good man, no matter what he believes about himself, and despite the things he's done in his past
Another magnificent scene. Eliot saying that he'll never be redeemed totally reminded me of the scene from Return of the Jedi when Luke pleads with Vader to let go of his hate. Vader's calm and sad response "It is too late for me, son"
“We ain’t never be even for the wrong we’ve done, but we keep trying to get there anyway.” Hopefully before all’s said and done, Eliot is made to realize (and really feel it) that redemption is a journey, not the destination.
Hearing Eliot say this reminds me of something Angel and Spike discussed on Angel (Which, ironically, Christian Kane starred in.), where they genuinely believe they've done too much evil to ever really be atoned, but they still try because the daily effort to do good is all that matters. In a way, it makes them more genuine in their pursuit of good. Elliot isn't trying to do something just to get something for himself( in this case, redemption) because he thinks it's impossible. That means doing the right is really all he thinks about. So in a way, the man who considers himself the worst of the bunch is the most genuine.
When Eliot says he'll never be deserving of a second chance, it breaks my heart. Christian Kane plays the scene with everything he has, as usual. The saddest part of the whole scene is that Eliot has been living his second chance, redeeming himself every since he joined the Leverage team, he just can't see it.
every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things or make them unimportant. And Nate, Sophie, Hardison, & Parker definitely added to his pile of good things.
Anyone else think Eliot not being redeemed has to do with the terrible thing Monreau had Eliot do that was mentioned in Season 3 of the original series? I know he's done a lot of bad things he regrets in the past, but that one he said he'd never be rid of it.
Yes. Great observation. That whole dynamic between Eliot and Moreau always had me wondering since the original series aired. Btw, my brother and I have been revisiting the original series and will continue on through Redemption. God, how I love both shows.
Leverage redemption isn't Leverage. It's not then. The characters have changed over time and this new series is great. Not all fans of the original are gonna be fans of this new series. Nate is gone, Hardison is in and out, there are new characters that have some work to do to establish themselves but it's slowly coming along. Hopefully it gets a 3rd season.
Both were a hit with me from the start. Leverage was not just about Nate. Get over it or watch a different show now, that works for you. No one is forcing you to watch. Leverage / Redemption is about Live and Learn while picking up the pieces and continuing on. Nate is gone and they kept on living best they could. They did not drop Nate like he never existed. I would like to see Nate show up in a dream, or Sophie get with Harry 🤷♀️ Time will tell and I will be watching. Thank you both Leverage and Redemption for being the best series I believe I have ever watched. Writers, Actors Directors… ☝️❤️

"I'll never be redeemed" when Eliot said that, it broke my heart😭
The things he did when he was working for Moreau, he never said what he did but that he will never be clean of it
@@FerretJohn it was very strongly hinted that he "unalived" people indistimanityly

I love Leverage and Leverage Redemption but I hate seeing the actors get old. I guess time never stops.

May i use this sentence for a fanfiction
@@manuferguson6564 It’s from Doctor Who. 😊
Quoting the 11th Doctor in regard to Eliot. It certainly works.
I truly do believe Eliot has a heart 😢
Eliot trust Sophie with his wallet

Oh definitely.

Teal'c and Tomin in Stargate: The Ark of Truth
I’d love some sort of crazy crossover with Teal’c and Elliot in a bar sharing war stories or in a friendly sparring match.
Come on Sophie take him to bed.
Nate is dead and you belong together
Ewww. The dynamic I've always seen here is parent child. So that thought just grosses me out.
@@spirited154 Not really , in the new series
Sophie and Eliott are the parents to the rest of the team
I don’t think they have chemistry
